It was a good time, so no, not a waste of time. People forget that video games are just for fun..

When I read the 10 year thing in 2014 I certainly looked at Destiny the franchise as a WoW for FPS. I was from day 1 under the impression that the destiny franchise would be a game + massive DLCs building on top of the main game. If there was to be a sequel I was also under the assumption that everything would carry forward (I did not expect it to be useful though). As Destiny progressed into TDB and vanilla gear remained stagnant at 30 I was very disappointed but ultimately accepted it. Still a fun game and still valuable loot to acquire. There was a large outcry from the community though during TDB transition regarding vanilla gear remaining at 30, exotic shards and all sorts of other crap. When HoW came out and it seemed to remedy the complaints I thought, "oh wow Bungie listened and fixed it. We get to keep our stuff. Awesome." Little did I know that when TTK came, everything from Y1 would remain back in Y1. After grinding the shit out of TTK for about 2-3 months I began to see what was ahead of us. Nothingness. So I stopped playing and hoped that Bungie would bring everything back. Well they did. But guess what. You had to RNG grind all the wonderful things you still had in your vault. And that is when I realized that Bungie had decided that they would let you keep your stuff. You just had to play and play and play and play and play and play again and again and again and again to get the exact same thing you already had doing the same activities and reskinned activities over and over and over and over. You get my point. Destiny is a looter shooter. But instead of like a borderlands model they have a hamster wheel model that takes shit away and forces you to earn it back. So I wish I had know it sooner but thank the traveler I figured it out when I did. I already feel like I wasted half of my play time on genuinely pointless grinding. The good thing is that if D2 has this same gameplay loop model it makes playing the game easier for me. Platinum and out.

I would have to say yes. year one we got screwed over & now it happening again I thought bungie would have learned by they mistakes but I guess that would be asking for to much

It's been fun and entertaining. However, part of the appeal at the outset was the advertised and oft discussed along the way 10 continuing journey. I don't care about new gear, guns, and cosmetics. I'm sure the new things will be great & fun to earn. What I don't want to lose is the thick statistical history I've accumulated in both pvp and pve - all of that work. Will our numbers be carried over?

Time wasted? No. I got a lot of fun and entertainment out of the journey. More than ready for a fresh start. As much as I like valued gear, I like discovering and using new gear even more.

Over 2500 hours played here across 3 accounts and I'm probably not getting D2 because of this. I have stopped playing entirely since the news dropped and have felt no desire to play since it wouldn't even matter if I did, it's all gonna be scrapped anyway

I waiting too see what the plot is all about. I love this game n yes i wished it would transfer everything too. I just wonder if the plot has something to do with it. If it does then that's fine but if it doesn't i will probably be pretty pissed. Im interested in what they have in store for us bungie makes great games obviously cuz a crap load of people play this and the old halos. In just hoping that it will be better then it is now

I grinder in this game, knowing full well my progress wouldn't carry over. I have been saying that it won't since the discussion came up about what would transfer. And yet darlings, many of your re still surprised games don't let you start at max light just because you played the last one

I've had fun the past 3 years with family and friends playing, i come from an mmo background on games so this is nothing new to me and im fine with it. We need a clean slate to prevent power creep and to add more variety to the weapons and armor again. I only hope they keep the kiosks for shaders, ships, emblems etc just so we can use them again in that context rather than have them drop in game. That would also help people see old veteran players vs the newbies for D2.

Take how much money you make in an hour. Now take how much money youve spent on this game compared to how many work hours that took you to pay for it all. Ive spent well over 10 times that ammount so wasnt a waste of money and i enjoyed the times and other not so much
