Wait until it drops. Play it. Play it some more. If it sucks, come post why. If it needs tweeks, come post why. If you love it, come post why.
In the meantime these forums have literally screamed for a weapon balance patch for the last two months and we're getting it whether you agree with what you've seen or not. It's great we're all passionate about the game but telling Bungie they're pieces of shit, screaming for people to be fired, and the rampant -blam!-ing elitism infesting these posts for changes that none of us have played is pretty disgusting.
Feedback is great, unbridled hate... Not so much.

1 RispondiModificato da Zero the Remnant: 2/11/2017 6:44:31 AMCould not have said it better myself. I admit I myself and unhappy with some changes but I need to see them in action & feel them out before I go into Rage Mode. They might be easily remedied/countered in the end. My 2 worry points are HC range & damage falloff. It already bugs me that in order for me to run a HC in a Raid I need a god roll (to keep up with other weapon types due to the previous changes made to HCs. So the range & damage off now concern me more but it might not be too bad. The Landfall change dramatically upsets me as its very useful in PVE, & as a SC main it isnpart of my strategies, a trump card/gamechanger when in sticky situations, rewards me playing aggressively vs hanging back. But the time reduction might be only 3 or less seconds (tolerable). Perhaps it does more damage now at the cost of super duration? Only testing will prove it. I just wish Bungie would do these patches in small windows. Lets say Landfall ends up being a bad change... It isn't fair to the playerbase to have us endure the bad change for 6+ months. Should have a class patch, weapon patch, & content patch spread out from each other every so many months.

1 RispondiI'll be the first to admit it I overreacted a little bit(We'll...sigh....see me in court). My apologies bunige, you did what you could. AR's are back, that has my undivided attention. Happy about that.

2 RisposteYeah, seeing some of the posts after the stream, it's gotten pretty ridiculous on here. Saw someone upset because they thought Bungie was nerfing hungering blade because of one person's experience. The guy was giving an example of what would happen and why they thought the nerf was needed and we've got just enough slow and angry people on here to take that out of context and run with it. I get not liking the nerf, I wish they would have just buffed things this time around and wasn't too happy with any of the nerfs, but at this point it's pretty obvious that people are looking for reasons to get ticked off. Hell, it's not just here either, go see the tweets from the PvP youtubers/streamers and all they're doing is whining about things that they believed needed to be nerfed but didn't. If those yahoos had their way, PvP would be played with feather dusters and whoever got the most tickles would win.

4 RisposteI watched the stream in its entirety. Crucible will be different. Better or worse depends on who you are, but when you realize balance patches are only to shake up the meta, you understand it will work. Shotgun changes won't hurt PvE. Won't really help that much either, aside from movement and the 20% boost to power. You have to ADS to get full use, and they built in a delay. Hand cannons are also a mixed bag. You'll have to be a lot closer to use one, but accuracy is back to year one. LRoF pulses and ARs are going to see a lot more use. I'm willing to give it a shot before I say much else.

4 RisposteModificato da Durandal: 2/10/2017 10:47:32 PMHate to say it, but while you were cogent, logical, and non-partial, you are speaking to an audience that doesn't want to listen. A week before the patch stream went live I called this exact thing. The community on here mostly exists to absolutely whine and cry about whatever does get announced, one way or another. It's impossible to build a game or even tweak it, to please everyone. Nor should they try, and these forums are the proof of why. The vitriol and rancor on the forums the past few days is what is going to happen no matter what is done, and no matter how well (or poor) the changes go towards creating a more diverse in-game experience. People just want to have something to biatch and moan about. Save your own sanity, let them shout themselves out in a few days, and watch them move on to the next non-outrage outrage topic.

15 RisposteWe've been down this road before and people said the same thing. "Just wait and try it out". They haven't gotten it right in 2 and a half years of nerfing, how is this one going to be different?
-
They are making changes that they have quoted they are not trying to do. "We could nerf everything into the ground and call it a day". So they do that and we hate them. Its pretty simple
-
2 RisposteThis isn't the first time we had to deal with this bs, we have the right to complain

if it needs tweeks come post why...sorry bungo doesnt listen reason or sense

1 RispondiModificato da Truthiness_Inc: 2/10/2017 11:54:20 PMYeah I should ignore their abysmal track record of nerfing all the things and wait and see. I'm sure THIS time they'll do it right and their FURTHER NERFING will actually make the game better huh? I mean if nerfing all the things 20 times doesn't work maybe 30 times will do the trick? These people are terrible at what they do and will kill their franchise waaay before the 10 year mark.

7 RispostePassion comes in different aspects. Hate and love are basically the same passion, yet polar opposites. Those who loved this game, the elitists, the people that are in this forum, are sick of it, and the love is turning to hate. That is why the comments are as they are. The antipode of passion is indifference. I loved Destiny as well, up til TTK. I still played, my friends played. as bad as the nerfs were, and the lack of differentiating between PvP and PvE, my friends playing was enough for me. Then later, we all became indifferent. You know what indifference does to Bungie? Costs them money. The only way you will ever get through to them is quit playing, and quit buying. Just from my friends list, I can't imagine how barren the servers are these days. But D2 will come out and everyone will buy it and Bungie will do the same thing over and over (already made their money right? who cares?) and people will be in here spewing anger. Simple fact is Bungie only knows the word nerf. They used to have streams every 3 months to show us new content, now it is 3 times a year to show what they nerf next. It's almost like a drug. Lure you in so you get addicted (year 1), then smash you(TTK, RoI). Easiest answer, buy a new game. It sucks, I know, but this one died. I found getting angry over a game (which i used to do) is just useless. Now people will say "then why are you on the forums?". Well I loved this game, and I like to check in on it's status (Maybe someday they buff? hahahaha jk). I still love year 1, but it is gone. If I could uninstall everything year 2 and forward, I would. There is always that glimmer of hope though, but with Bungie, it will never come to fruition. Sad state of affairs, but it is what it is. Either way, there is a good community here. I hope Bungie can see that someday.

What you say is equal to say that you need to burn your hands to talk about that experience.

9 RisposteModificato da GrayWulf25: 2/12/2017 12:07:46 PMThe community clearly wanted Primary weapons taking up to a level where they are mostly viable and don't feel weak and under-powered. We wanted a minimum of nerfs, probably could have tolerated one nerf to high impact shotguns (e.g. reduced impact 15%, reduced mag size to 3) Instead the Special ammo change effectively nerfs all Special weapons except those that re-gen ammo or live in the Primary slot. OK, there are small buffs to high impact ARs & Pulses, but far too many nerfs. They said there would be a place for every weapon, then destroyed High RoF Pulses. A mag size of 24 (18 with Braced Frame or Small Bore) is absurdly low for a High RoF weapon. Nobody asked for this

5 RisposteI'm just here to get this post back trending. Might as well throw my 2 cents in while I'm here. I see a lot of people already pre assuming the new weapon meta. Ice breaker, invective, side arms, NLB and Universal Remote. Now, idk about you but I don't see the reason why people would already be complaining about side arms. Or Universal Remote and NLB for that matter. I can see IB and invective because that's a cheesy way to beat the new system, but in reality the community has pushed these issues on themselves because they've relied on special ammo for far too long. I need to add the fact that UR is receiving a nerf to water it's effects down. In conclusion, I don't see the problem here.

Modificato da Optimus_immortel: 2/11/2017 3:01:10 AMI say it all the time bungies communication skills have constantly let them down. Waiting for 140+ days for a weapon rebalance has sent players to melting point. Once again communication wise the patch notes should have been released the same day as the stream. Players then have more solid information to stand by, less inturpritation of what has and hasn't been done. Tongue in cheek comments like i changed blade dancer because I felt my bullets meant nothing (not exact quote) are the prime example of things the community will go to war over because this addictive game has become a wasteland of low content drops and untouched balance issues. I don't agree that people should be firing the gun at the employees, as their passion for the game can be hindered by that and that means the content will suffer. Anyways its a fresh feeling it will be interesting. Edited to make sure that I mention that I'm not really concerned about a meta change I will continue to adapt and enjoy the game.

3 RisposteThe only issue I have is that adjustments are always made because of Crucible or Trials. I get that's all this game has boiled down too but some of us still run PvE activities. Yeah they buffed one and nerfed two cause it can balance a Crucible encounter but it doesn't help a PvE encounter. That has and will always be my issue with how Bungie chooses to make changes. Perfect example is blink. Half of the jumps in PvE or on specific PvP maps cant be made using blink. Yet it was reduced because it favored shotguns. Or even the AR nerf in yr one.. I just dont trust that Bungie takes everything into account. Fool me once..
Wait until it drops. Play it. Play it some more. If it sucks, come post why. If it needs tweeks, come post why. If you love it, come post why.
You left out the part where you have to wait another 5 months for them to patch any weapon issues that might surface from this new patch. If they can be bothered to that is.
-
Bump and like as always. I stopped playing Destiny and the weapon patch don't seem to affect PvE so in general I'm fine with it. That being said I genuinely feel that all of Bungie staff should focus on D2 including the live team and all there assets working on Destiny so destiny 2 can be the best it can possibly be.
-
This. People are so quick to judge and throw shade over something they have not even tried.
-
Bump. Oh my -blam!-ing God can we be friends? I am so tired of people whinging about a weapon balance we all asked for before we even get to test it out. Feedback is good. Blind hatred not so much.
