So, over the weekend I did something I've never done before. I went to LFG for trials partners. (Wait, it gets better) I sent multiple invites and had countless people join my party to chat and ask if they wanted to do some trials. Most of them had came in asking my ELO. Now, I understand ELO is a pretty good way to gauge a players skill in Destiny. As well as KD. I don't have the best ELO because I don't always play with the best players that 9-0 every weekend. I usually try to help my friends. My ACTUAL friends. They're not elitists. They're not the best. Hell, I'M not the best, but I can 9-0 every weekend with the right team.
Long story short, these elitist joined my party and quickly took to DTR and trials report. (I can't blame them). But all of them said I WASN'T good enough. Yeah, it isn't the best thing to hear, but I know I'm good enough for smooth 9-0 runs. I used to help people to the light house every weekend. (I don't anymore, work gets in the way of trials help). After about 20 people saying I'm sh*t at the game I finally found someone. Lower stats than me, lower ELO. But I didn't care, I could help this guy out, right? Then we had a third that had the same mind set. He was a pretty good player. Up to par on stats with me. Wanna know what's funny? Last weekend, on Widows Court, was one of the fastest 9-0 cards I've ever played. With 2 guy from LFG that had decent stats.
Elitists. I have one thing to say to you. Give people a chance. I'm not upset I was turned down. Not one bit. I'm disappointed in you. There are people like me that help the little people to the light house, which means we might have lower ELO than you. But I'll take a guy that helps the community at the sacrifice of his numbers than the guy who turns everyone down because they don't have big numbers. Maybe you can also help the lighthouse virgins if you're that good.
Thanks for reading guys!
Edit: Thank you everyone for your opinions on this. Anyone can do it. Anyone can go to the lighthouse. You just gotta put the effort forth. Btw, we are trending! Thanks to being trending because of all of you, lighthouse virgins see this post first and hopefully that means that they can match up with some of you better players and finally go flawless! You guys are awesome! Thank you!

99% of the time, PvP is the root of all evil in Destiny EVERY time.

I see elitist posts all the time, I have literally stopped trying to go flawless unless I'm with my friends who don't care about my stats. Whenever my friends aren't on I always post up about how I only want bounties and 7th win. And you know sometimes we actually do end up going flawless. Some people are just too focused on the rewards, which are not even that good. The only thing I find desirable would be a Doctrine. But people just don't want to help the community and that's a shame. It's a bit selfish if you ask me.

8 RisposteWhat does ELO mean?
-
Last week I joined up with some off people who quickly said "you're not high enough light" then my two friends and I. We are all 320-330 and outer first match we go up against the people that kicked me for "not being a high enough light level" and long story short we won 5-0 and I t-bagged every..... Sent them a message saying "not good enough for you?" and then a screenshot of us opening the lighthouse chest. It was great.

What's funny is that your stats are probably way better than mine. This is why I don't go flawless.

3 RisposteElo is a trash way to figure out a persons skill. Lol it's so funny to me. It was made for chess. You can't just apply it to anything you want. In my opinion, k/d doesn't really show skill as much as it shows play style and how the persons aim is. You can be very skilled but have a reckless play stile. Fast pace and guns blazing. You could also be terrible strategy wise but have great aim. It takes a bit of both to be good at trials. I understand looking at blatant low k/d's and saying no, but more than often a player who is 1.10-1.40 is better than the 2.0 player. He's more down to put the team ahead. There's always vice verse and exceptions of course, but give people chances. I've had players join up who have terrible load outs and k/d's but are great team players and help win the match. Going negative every time to get the res and so. Then I've had amazing players who go against odds when they could simply regroup and end up losing the game. Only to blame somebody else. It takes a combination to make a good team. Have fun with it. The win counts more than anything, but after a while it just gets repetitive. Mix it up

Yea they may have a high Elo, but they may suck that day. I only play trials for the flawless emblem then I stop cause elitism is cancer. Now I basically only raid cuz that's where you meet the most chill, funny people just looking to have a good time. Amazing lfg raid groups are all that's keeping me on destiny. You don't find people like us anywhere else

Elo in itself is a pointless stat. It barely shows anything about a players skill, and I'm not saying this because I have ass elos, I have sick Elo scores but I don't care because it means nothing

2 RisposteA few things that have ruined trials! 1. Streamers 2.creation of the Elo score 3.bungies nerfs 4.snipers 5. Arrogant try hards that seem to forget that they're playing a game! 6.going away from the way trials was set up in year 1
-
I doubt they care.

1 RispondiSkill and aim. Both is not part of destiney. Play a john carmack engine game for skill and aim

2 RisposteWhat even is ELO?

Let me tell you something, elites don't give a -blam!- about your post nor they give a single -blam!- about you. They will continue to do what they always do.

Nice post!!!

Bump for positivity!

6 RisposteToo many people use Trials ELO to make their epeen look bigger. In reality, they're mainly obese white boys who appear to live right next to Courage with all the sweat they pack.
-
2 RisposteExcuse me for being a noob, but what is ELO?
-
Too bad the majority of people left are toxic, elitist who say nothing is wrong with destiny and that its a 10/10 game and already pre ordered the DLC.
-
I almost never have played Trials before so my ELO is pretty average and my K.D is decent, but this is also because I didn't get the best teams. People should be accepting of others to play with. Elitists are far too excluding. For all they know from destiny tracker, I could not be someone who could ever get flawless. But last week on Widow's Court I quite melted the enemy team. I believe my Trials K.D and ELO are like 1.25 and 1150+, but as I said I have almost never done Trials and my teams weren't the greatest and weren't at my skill level. It's such a shame that people like me will probably never get a flawless for a long while simply because of people that go by what Destiny Tracker reads.

ELO is nothing more than another way for the sweaties to feel like special snowflakes.

Modificato da Reclaimer: 7/16/2016 12:16:07 AMDestiny is neither a competitive or skill oriented first person shooter. Don't know how or why anyone can take it seriously. Especially all those degenerates with bad attitudes in the "sweaty community". What an asinine moniker.
