Let me start by saying this is not a rant or a crying session. I get off work today, ask my 3 boys how their day was. My 13 yr old tells me he put a group together and flew a fire team into his oryx checkpoint. One of the "mature"adults tells my son to hand over fire team lead, so my son being a gullible pre teen he happily surrenders the lead. He then gets kicked from the group for being a kid. I understand a lot of people prefer not to play with children ( myself included ,except of course my children). I get it. This person knew my son was a kid when he joined the party. To me, this is a bit below the belt. He's not upset, neither am I, we both just kinda laughed and shrugged it off.
Let me say my son has many oryx clears, he's better at the raid than many of the people I've played with (reaction time of a 13 yr old is crazy, makes me feel old watching him lol). I guess my point is, you don't want to play with kids, cool nothing wrong with that. Just don't be a prick and cheat your way to a checkpoint by stealing it from a kid, then kicking the kid. Thanks for reading.

No one cares and no one wants to play with little kids except little kids whatever drop it

I'm going to be semi-hypocrite saying this but, i don't honestly mind "kids" who do play mature rated games. Even though i think destiny is rated T, if I'm ever in a group with a "kid" i try to act mature, but the only things that bother me are that, A. The younger voice makes my ears bleed sometimes. And B. If they ask too many damn questions or try to take charge(if they aren't the fire team leader). This one is to an very very lesser extent because i actually did this when i was like 7 playing GTA3 C."Kids" playing mature rated games, this i know i said i don't mind as much, hence what i said above.

Modificato da Gracklepod: 7/6/2016 11:10:46 PMYes, that's a prick move. That's the kind of idiot who will punt you at the end of a strike or challenge of Elders run just so his buddy can spawn in and get the rewards. Douchebags like that should be banned permanently.

If he is 13 he's not a pre-teen
-
I agree that was a prick move

If he's thirteen he's not a preteen anymore.

Gosh darn kids being better than Oryx than me! Can believe the pompous kids these days running a fireteam! Where they on beaches of Normady, fighting the damn Vex in VoG?

One way to look at it is that he learned a lesson. As long as a kid isn't annoying he gets a chance like everyone else. Honestly if the guy didn't want to kids he should've left.
-
Now that's a douche move...

Gents let the third round of battle royalty begin now.hehe

I don't like playing video games with other people's kids, but that guy was a dick. If he's on Xbox, report him and drop his rep. If PSN, there really isn't a good retaliation like that so you have to use written bait. If you can get him to reply with a message that's "inappropriate" you win. Multiple messages is even better.

I don't mind having a kid join me for a raid but as long as they're not too loud or rude, then it's cool. If they're able to get along with the rest of the group and chill out, by all means I'll take the kid with me through the raid.

Agreed, something like that is wrong in principle and in doing. I'm not a father but I will play the game with kids. I know what to expect from a 13 year old and up. As long as the tone from anyone in our party doesn't become abusive or just obnoxious to the point of being counter productive, then we play with just about any person... man, woman, kid, squeaker or not. I remember what it was like to be that age and I remember how I didn't appreciate being treated by older people and it is something I try to remember whenever I deal with kids is to just be patient and fair.

I prefer not to play with kids, mainly because they get too chatty and awkwardly crude when they're together, but I would just leave if I didn't like the group. To join, take the lead and kick the leader is a dbag move.

Hope the F****r fails - multiple times - to the point of rage quit. What a douche.

Ouch. That's pretty asinine.
