Let me start by saying this is not a rant or a crying session. I get off work today, ask my 3 boys how their day was. My 13 yr old tells me he put a group together and flew a fire team into his oryx checkpoint. One of the "mature"adults tells my son to hand over fire team lead, so my son being a gullible pre teen he happily surrenders the lead. He then gets kicked from the group for being a kid. I understand a lot of people prefer not to play with children ( myself included ,except of course my children). I get it. This person knew my son was a kid when he joined the party. To me, this is a bit below the belt. He's not upset, neither am I, we both just kinda laughed and shrugged it off.
Let me say my son has many oryx clears, he's better at the raid than many of the people I've played with (reaction time of a 13 yr old is crazy, makes me feel old watching him lol). I guess my point is, you don't want to play with kids, cool nothing wrong with that. Just don't be a prick and cheat your way to a checkpoint by stealing it from a kid, then kicking the kid. Thanks for reading.

Sounds like that guy was more of child than your child. Swear, man children are worse than actual children most of the time.
-
It's rated T for teen in America to all people saying he shouldn't be playing
-
Thank you, I was waiting for someone to post things like this. Its rude under estimating children and their capabilities. I remember a child taught me how the raid works, he and his kid filled fireteam lead me step by step through the kingsfall heroic raid. Since then my opnion of kids have changed. I dont mind raiding with kids as long as they dont whine up a storm and talk BS about a random thing(rarely happends). Even though I dont have many Raid clears(they put me to sleep now) kids have been underestimated to much. They really do put the charm in destiny in my opinion. Just the wide variety of ages playing the same game. I just wish some teens/adults would stop being douches.
Does your son still need help? Because I would gladly help him! :)
-
It may not have been because he was a kid... These guys probably just wanted the spot for another loser and stole his check point.
-
3 RisposteThis is why I always tell people in advance that I have a kid in my fireteam when my daughter and I do CoE and we need a third. Also, I always make sure I'm the fireteam leader, no-one boots my little girl out of our fireteam but me.
-
I agree with these comments I myself is a kid and it's fine if u don't like kids just tell us nicely but don't be mean cuz that's being a jerk

1 RispondiFirst off sir I applaud your awesome parenting skills... Second thing is to read that he didn't get upset about that (which was completely messed up in my opinion) tell a lot about his character and maturity. For me I don't mind playing with kids that age as long as they dont completely act like a 6 year old. I've played with several kids that were like 11/12 ish but we're very mature for their age and it didn't bother me. This one kid before I knew his age would sit there and be like hey dont curse my mom doesn't like that..and I'm sitting here like wtf how old is this dude? (his voice already changed so he sounded like he was around my age) I finally asked him one time and he was like 12 so for me it's all about the maturity of the kid... Sorry for such a long comment lol

I do understand why he didn't want to play with a kid. The can sometimes be... Well, "annoying"... But the thing that I think is outrageous is the fact that he convinced your son to make him leader and the kicked him from his own fireteam. That's what is identified as a "jumbodickhead". I would block him.

If i were in your kids shoes i would have reported the guardians who did that. I'm sorry your son ran into those pricks, Hope he finds an actually mature group

Modificato da KurtPanzerNader: 7/8/2016 9:15:50 PMI agree with you and support your concerns. Year 2 Destiny is alot different. More and more players don't care about the community. Always me me me, very selfish, rude, disrespectful, impolite, nasty and dishonest! With that said, some of them still around with integrity and honor!
-
1 RispondiI don't mind playing with kids if they are good and mainly if they act mature. The ones I'll kick are the ones that are loud and obnoxious, the ones that scream and don't stop talking. They get the big ole boot.
-
I personally don't mind playing with little kids but when they're annoying and disrespectful and scream in the mic when things don't go there way that's a boot
-
I and dying of laughter right now. That's hilarious, I've had kids try to raid with my old raid group and we would just mess with them hitting them off with shoulder charge and warlocks melee just to hear them get pissy. It makes good fun for the rest of the group.

5 RisposteModificato da thepostaldave: 7/8/2016 6:09:40 PMHad a kid join a raid team once. We asked why his mic was off. He relied "I'm a kid and don't want to get kicked" We all laughed and let him stay. He did well. Most 13 year olds are better at this game than me but their mic skills are total scrubs

That sucks! May the RNG gods curse that A-hole. Most "kids", I'd say 12-14 are more fun to play with than the 14-19 crowd. The kids just have fun. They can become annoying very easily, but they have fun playing. Most teens I've come across are little bastards. They throw tantrums and call you out if your load out isn't META. Add in the obnoxious overuse of F-bombs between syllabus and I say no thanks. Play on Guardians, plan on!
-
Most of the time kids are the best players because of their reaction times. It is crazy, but I play with young players myself-they put the rest of us to shame! As long as they don't spam me or shout down the headset I don't really care. Though too many kids are disrespectful idiots, who give them all a bad name unfortunately.

Yeah stealing checkpoints is a douchebag move. That's why my friends and I don't use LFG anymore too many checkpoint thieves.
-
4 RisposteI hope you and the nipper have many fun times in Destiny together in the future mate. Mines only 5 months old, so a bit too soon :)
-
26 RisposteThe game is rated 16+ so this means: 1- you're bad parent for buying a game that is not rated for his age 2- allowing him to sit on his ass all day playing destiny 3- if he was genuinely upset that he got kicked from a video game then you raised him to be a soft little boy. Stop bubblewraping him and let him deal with things in his own.
-
I've been kicked while down once.
-
No hate but least he learned a lesson. Now he won't make the same mistake hopefully.
-
Well now your son knows, dont give the fireteam lead lol
-
Depends on the kid. If he is trying to do the raid and listening, or actually good, no problem. If he is loud, constantly yapping and going afk for fruit pops or whatever I will kick his ass without a second thought.
-
I would kick him too
-
We LFG'd and got this kid one time at like 4 am and he asked us to keep the chat family friendly. I get it. Kid musta been like 8. Yelled at our FTL for 20 minutes about him not using Touch as runner for Oryx Hard. Then the asshat forgot to kill his knight and made us have to go another round. Then started talking about how he thinks the Hereafter is an amazing sniper.
