Hate mail for speed running in heroic strikes
So I was running through some heroic strikes today. I was running past all the useless enemies so that we could speed through it. I got to the boss and wiped to bring the other two forward. They proceeded to send me hate mail calling me a coward and unskilled for running past useless enemies.
Since when has speed running become unskilled

For the people saying I think my way is the only way to run strikes, you're wrong. I don't believe that. I understand people run it different ways. I'm simply stating that it's sad that people think speed running makes you unskilled at this game and send hate mail over it

I admit, it was kind of inconsiderate of me to pull them forward, but at the time I had soloed half the strike and just wanted to finish it finally. When I go into match making, I don't expect people to do things exactly my way. It's every man for himself. If someone kept killing ads at boss or kept dying at boss, I wouldn't send hate mail over it. It's my risk for using match making. My point is stop expecting thing to go your way of you use match making, and don't send hate mail for it, because you chose to use match making

Wow so much salt for speed running. I bet half of you are taken tots. Would have liked to see you try grinding strikes in HoW. You would have been screwed. Everyone was speed running trying to get a dry rot or a hopscotch pilgrim

I like to speed run strikes more then before because of the rep booster but I never have purposely died to pull the other players forward. Most of the time I wouldn't even need to as it seems their trying to do the same thing.

"I don't expect people to do things exactly my way" But you purposely pulled them to the final checkpoint. Sounds like it's precisely what you expect. Now, it's true either you or them could have gone in with a fireteam making this a moot issue. The kicker is that there was no friendslist fireteam, and 2/3 elected to play one way, but you made it go your way. Hence, you are clearly in the wrong in this case.

I dont have a problem with you runnings ahead. Wiping to pull the others forward is inconsiderate though. You claim using matchmaking is "every man for himself". That shouldnt be the case, you should show consideration for your fellow player. I wouldnt send hate mail over it though

10 RisposteWell I don't care about speed running but I really hate when someone wipes to bring us. You know that person can be busy whit some public event or want to kill adds for bounty or something so if you want to speed run deal whit the boss alone and give extra care to not die.

The point of strikes in the story of Destiny is to take out a single target, so isn't skipping past pointless enemies and taking out the boss ASAP actually what you're supposed to be doing...?

If you can speed run all the way to the boss and die to bring everyone to the checkpoint then ok thats fine they just butt hurt OR need to kill a certain amount of enemies before the strike is over but they couldve left if they wanted to but.....if your speed running thru and then didnt get anywhere with that strategy then you embarrassed yourself and most likely no one will revive you.

Im with you, speed running is great! I like getting as many strikes done as possible in said amount of time.

One of his friends join and I run past ads and get to the boss. He then rages about how I'm a noob for running ahead. I just reply well if I'm a noob then why are you all the way back there. He carries on complaining for about 2 minutes. I booted him and said "look now you're even further behind." Baring in mind this is a level 14 mission and he's done it already and he's level 40 it's completely uncalled for. Then he got his dad on the mic and told me how I'm gonna get a console ban. [spoiler]I can still play on my xbox, I'll put it that way. [/spoiler]

a solution could be there is a 10 second countdown in let's say red numerals which display that mikes are on at the start and you have to mute if you do not want it or press another button to indicate you do not have one...after 10 seconds the strike begins...hopefully us guardians will decide on which strategy will be deployed?

I usually speed run but i don't wipe to force the other two into it. I'm guessing that's why you got the hate mail
