Engrams and the update.
So many people have said the old engrams will or won't drop new items in the update, so please vote and post your thoughts below.

1 RispondiConfirmed that exotics will drop at a higher light level than player currently, even if they don't turn into new gear, it will be higher light. Plus the new stuff from cryptarch level up packages, there's no reason NOT to save them.

3 RisposteHonestly none of us know. All other times its been a new DLC , on the other hand this is an update.

They wont but save legendaries and exotics cause they give lotsa rep and if you gain rep lvls you will get new engeams immediately which will give you up to date stuff

I am saving all mine, blue, purple, and yellow. If they give me new stuff? Great! If they dont? That's fine too, I will lvl the cryptard and get a package or 2 off of him with the new stuff. I win both ways!

As luck would have it even if it did have the ability to drop new stuff, there's so much old stuff in the rotation you more thank likely will get all old stuff. There's what like 10 vinillia thing coming back. Split thay between van a crucible you're looking at like a 20% chance at one of the reboot weapons.

1 RispondiI'm hoarding engrams, strange coins and motes, I can use these to level up cryptarc and factions. There is no harm in keeping engrams for a week.

6 RisposteI myself had exotic engrams that I hoarded just before December [i]update[/i] that decrypted to gear that had just been brought forward. Have friends who also were so lucky. Still have to rely on the "smart" RNG.

Saving my exotic engrams regardless for the cryptarch packages. Hopefully get something out of it.

Year 2 engram will decode year 2 gear. Same concept as the last update we had that it worked in
