Imagine what it would be like. Imagine the kind of community we'd have. Imagine who would be here, and who would not be here. (The influential people like mtashed.).
I'm kinda curious what you would think it would be like. And I think we already know we wouldn't have all the PvP complainers.
"Nerf this, nerf that, this is op, this lag is retarded" etc etc.
Edit: No PvP would mean they focus more on PvE, which means more content.
Edit2: It was brought up that PvP killed Defiance too. And they're completely right. Everything was nerfed into the ground because of the PvP community, which in turn killed PvE. They eventually just nerfed all damage by 60% in PvP.
Edit3: People saying it would be dead. I would have to disagree, there are a lot of games that focus on PvE and they do great. I know Destiny is a little different but it's still the same concept.

6 RisposteAnyone arguing that destiny would be dead has a lack of experience in games like destiny (big RPG games like WoW or diablo and other RPG games based around gear) WoW has pvp but its biggest selling point and most played activities are the PvE, diablo is all about PvE and has plenty of people still playing. Borderlands is only PvE and that's still insanely played. PvP does NOT make a game and you're unintelligent if you think a game needs PvP to be good/successful. Fallout is a big example its insanely popular and isnt even multiplayer. Gaming strived pretty well before PvP was even a thing in games and it'll continue to strive even with games that don't have it. Destiny could actually be even better if it didn't cater so much to the PvP community and purely focused on PvE (its major selling point in the first point) everyone forgets destiny was insanely hyped with the product we were promised (a RPG/MMO hybrid for consoles WITH NO PVP AT ALL) and now that it has PvP look at how upset the community always is. PvP is a cancer to this game not because the community (or not entirely) but because its taking so much attention away from something that could be flawless. If they put those resources they use on PvP into PvE we wouldn't see constant nerfs, balancing problems, lack of content. Everyone assumes that PvP is the only thing to do in this game anymore but that's only because we as the community make it that way. Everyone wants them to focus on PvP but then cry theirs no PvE content. Make up your minds, do you want PvP or PvE they only have so many people and can only do so much so fast.

Yeah how come no one complained that sunbreakers were OP in Undying Mind? Or that Landfall blinding a knight or a group of mobs was cheap? I know I couldn't stand it when one of my teammates used handcannons in strikes. It's complete bullshit. But Bungie put all of their longevity eggs in the PvP basket so this is what we get. The good news is that they finally realized that only catering to PvP was not viable long term, hence this update. So they are learning.

They should only nerf the guns when your playing PvP and NOT when your playing PvE
-
what a great game it would be!! no nerfs, no whining, no complaining.....
-
Full of PvE nerds like Dattoo.. No thanks! PvP is why I play at all anymore!
-
Wjat would we do in between content releases. Stand around and make stupid videos of us dancing in sync in different parts of the planets trying to get motw. I don't think so bub
-
Destiny PvP is just as big of a selling point as PvE in its current state. PvE in Destiny is no where near rewarding or large as other games. The countless hours of grinding the handful of content just to deal with RNG on top of RNG is beyond insufferable. PvP adds to Destiny's longivity. It's Bungie that can't get it right.

Modificato da bilbo t baginzz: 4/11/2016 10:35:36 AMImagine it, dead after 3 months of running the same strikes over and over again. You PvE only players think that EVERYONE at Bungie constantly works on fixing PvP and the idea is just laughable. The fact that you think content would come faster if Destiny didnt have PvP is beyond stupid, its like you all think a raid can be made in a week and that because we have PvP it means theres no one working on PvE content. I have no doubt there is a set team which works on PvP and a set team which works on current content for both PvP and PvE and also a team which works on new content for PvP and PvE. The same could be said if the game was PvP only, it would have died long ago.

1 RispondiThe problem is not pvp in general. The problem is that bungie will not separate the pvp and pve changes. Anything they do in pvp affects the pve part. And that's just bad design. My opinion.
-
They need PVP, it's a sales tool. But, they lack the ability to use PVP as intended. Instead they drop all in a blender and use PVP data to dictate all game activity. As a PVE player, final nail...
-
I wouldn't have bought TTK, I'd be bored shitless without PvP.
-
3 RisposteThis game is great and awsome all around it has its up and it has its downs but its ppl like this that keep the gaming community in chaos

The only mtash i have is ony face
-
its perfect .. just leave it like it is

Game would have died long ago without PvP. I play both and I'm not happy about nerfs but without PvP, this community dries up.
-
Guys, remember, TDB was one of the worst dlcs ever, and HoW was only successful because old content was relevant, imagine playing those 2 bad dlcs without PvP, the game would be truly dead right now
-
4 RisposteIf pvp didn't exist the game would've died a long time ago let's be real.
-
I started out pve only but am now much more pvp. The problem with pve is you know exactly what enemies are coming from, who they are and what they'll do. Also it would force people to raid as the only real end game content. Considering the majority of players have never completed kingsfall it would turn off a large amount of the population. Also with all the raid elitists it would be extremely hard to get to max level. The game is fine with both.
-
1 RispondiSo...would we have twice as many PvE activities instead? There would need to be some end game level PvE that solo players can do with match making to replace IB Something competitive to replace trials, i.e. Poe challenges or some kind of time-based competitive mode for missions or strikes? Being able to generate custom scenarios maybe... For example Put Vex and cabal enemies on Earth for some kind of mission mode
-
3 RisposteImagine Destiny without Hunters.
-
6 RisposteWithout pvp, the game would suck imo
-
The crucible in its self isn't really that much content, it's just partially replayable.
-
Pve is my focus, it's what I will live on when we have new content again. However, once I have done all the pve stuff, then apart from weekly raids and helping clan mates and friends through raids, I only really have pvp to keep the game interesting
-
No reason to play it!
