Bungie should change that stats from k/d to wins and zones captured.
People post about their k/d is misleading and tainted.
Here is a simple argument... is it more important to win the match or protect your k/d stats?
How many time you see players don't cap zones nor pick up the sparks etc. Those are the same people is protecting their k/d stats.
Let's make it simple would you sacrifice to win for the team??? Would you die so your spark runner can light them up? Would you hold the zone so your team can have an advantage???
Here is the truth the question is can you handle the truth???

LOL rather kill people around B point than die for capturing suiciding on the point. K/d does matter
-
I'm trying to lift my Clash kd to at least go positive.
-
I don't get why everyone is being a dick to op. He's giving his opinion.
-
Kills count for points in all the game modes too. I dont carry the spark a ton, but am often high up in score. Same with control. Just a thought...
-
K/D is important only if you make it important. I'd say it's important in all aspects, it's shows a sign of how well you do in combat, because not everything is going to involve camping. Survival is an important aspect of PvP, and K/D can reflect that. ~TheGreatNike

2 RisposteStill havent seen one of this posts from someone with a 1.0+ k/d.
-
The people with the high KDs are the reason that you are able to walk into the capture zone so easily

2 RisposteI have a 2+ kd and often play the objective, what are you getting at, do you really care that much about a win?
-
I do it all, I have a 1.11 KD, but I play the objective if I'm with a group that can kill, I'll slay if I'm with a group that can't, simple, my KD doesn't show my actual skill level as I mess about, I primary snipe, and when destiny first came out I would kill myself all the time trying to get those damn post mortem kills, I never went so low as to use thorn, except a couple games, I went 25-0 in my first game on in iron banner with an un-upgraded blade dancer.

6 Risposte
Would you die so your spark runner can light them up?
I am the spark runner. Quit sniveling about what you think Bungie should change and spend the time more usefully by upping your game instead.

1 RispondiSorry but a lot captures is actually a negative thing. That means you lose the zones and re-capture them and/or capture enemy home flags and flip the spawns and fuck your team up. You know what matters? K/d and kpg. If you can average a high kpg that means you aren't camping, and if you have a high k/d that means you're being effective at it. When you kill the enemy team you give your team map control.
-
Hey OP: http://destinytracker.com/destiny/crucible/ps/KurtPanzerNader?characterId=2305843009220242323 You have almost identical stats in control and clash (~0.95 kd, 48% w/l) . How does that make sense? You're not helping your team to win in control, and you're not helping your team to win in clash. One of those modes is objective-based according to your analysis, the other one isn't. I'm confused.

3 RisposteThis is why kd matters in every game mode except ToO and zone control. Dying nets points to the other team. As simple as that. As for control, scores will inflate even more if a player kept dying and not being able to net a kill for his/herself. Having a negative kd means you feed the other team more than you can score a point for your team. The numbers are there for a reason and thats the truth of it.
-
I wouldn't say it means nothing at all it definitely means something. Now does it determine a players skill 100% no but when you're lfg to run trials for example that's a good way to tell skill. Can they kill more than they are killed and btw on dtr or guardian.gg there are stats divided by each gamemode. I agree zones captured and other team stats are a part of it but your zones captured have nothing to do with anything but control. At the end of the day we will always look at kd when judging another player we do not know but there are players with negative kd that have been flawless and players with 4 kd that have lost a game nobody is unbeatable. Great communication, map knowledge, and playing to your strengths while also knowing your weaknesses are very important.
-
Im top 1% for zones capped. And top 84% kd. I love control.....

Now here's a 10 min of "ehhhhhhhh.........." https://youtu.be/9k4ItzjRqBU

You're right but not for your reason. It's because Destiny is far too casual of a game at its core for k/d to matter.
-
I dont get it. Why are you trying to convince yourself that its okay to suck at this game? That way of thinking will never let you improve. You need to realize the fact that you either dont have working thumbs or you keep making stupid decisions troughout the game. That way you can see your problems and start eliminating them one at a time. Whining and lying to yourself is the worst possible choice. Its never too late.
-
1 RispondiK/d means nothing!!! Only selfish people with personal and special interests would check other people's stats. It's a game, when is over just turn your console off. Everything is in a cyberspace. Honestly I think some people in Destiny actually print it out to sleep with it.
-
How about medal score ;)
-
2 RisposteExactly ! My trials kd is .47 but I always go flawless every week.
-
Phew. I thought my PvP K/D meant I sucked at crucible. This is great!
-
Your highest Trials KD is a 0.6....
