So the Destiny subreddit has long been a bastion of support for the game.
Any negative post was quickly down voted.
But then something amazing happened: gradually it took much less up votes for a post to make the front page.
Now negative threads are commonly on the front page.
Even long time supporters and self acknowledged fan boys are upset, or simply leaving all together. What was once one of the top 20 subreddits now has much, much less activity.
Do something right for a change bungie. You're now alienating the desticles.
TL;DR the community for a game just over 1.25 years old shouldn't be this bitter, but it is, with good reason.
Edit 1:
Bungie claims 25 million "registered users" (whatever that means) but the pvp tracking sites are only reporting 500,000 to 1 million players a day.
Assuming 1 million are on a day, that's still only 4% of the player base bungie claims.
So either bungie is being deceptive with their numbers and what constitutes an actual customer, or the community is clearly dying, seeing as only 4% are still playing.
Which is it?

Well, what pvp tracking site do you use? Most require players to register with their site to track, so the amount of players shown playing are those that have registered to their site.
-
Maybe it's because everyone has to accept that lag is now a factor in crucible, which is BS.
-
Registered users means anyone who's ever played. We are in the dry period so vets are taking a break
-
Truth is the economy is improving not for everyone but for a lot and people can afford better/newer games. Why would someone be stuck soley on one game is beyond me.
-
1 RispondiYou're using pvp stat tracking site to find out how many users? I had 6 hours out of 350 logged into pvp in year 1. There's a ton of the player base that never steps foot into the crucible.
-
True fact of Destiny!!!!
Deadtiny
-
More entitled brats thinking this game is supposed to support their gaming habits 24/7. They'll move on to something else, complain about that, and eventually go to another game to complain about.
-
If the game was dying, no one would be here to hear your pronouncement.... ...and those who were here, wouldn't care.
-
Not dead to me. I'm still having fun playing
-
10 RisposteHonestly many games only have a lifespan of 8-12 hours, some perhaps 50 hours. While I know many of us are not happy with drops, bad RNG, etc. You'll see many of us with 300-1000 hours. I know quantity doesn't equal quality, but for sure those of us who've played this long (happy or not) have gotten our money's worth.
-
All of this is true... but bungie does not care because everyone will still buy their next release.
-
1 RispondiHold on. Are you telling me that people don't play the same content forever? They move on to other games?
Mind

blown
2 RisposteIs it because you have 3 titans? Is this what it's all about???
-
Too much lag. Not fun anymore.
-
Cool story bro
-
a million a day?! great post long live destiny!
-
4 RisposteUmm...1,000,000 active daily players is damn impressive.
-
It feels like I've been reading this same post for the past year. Yup--must mean Destiny is dying.
-
Yawn, another 'destiny is dying' thread. Does no one else realise that it's normal to stop playing a game for a while and then come back to it when new content comes out?
-
1 RispondiIf they continue like this that 4% will soon be 0.04%.
-
1 RispondiThink about that, at this time last year the ce raid was already out on hard mode, we are going without new stuff or even having any information, speculation or hype about some content do later at all. This is the longest that we have spent between a content realise and any info about new one ever. That is a giant mistake
-
25 million registered means that is how many registered to website or to game doesn't mean that's how many is on at a time
-
You know Bungie PR. They're constantly misplacing their decimals.
-
I guess Halo is dead too cause it only shows 150k playing and only 500 doing forge mode...
-
4 RisposteOnce Bungie announced no more DLC until Destiny 2, I think a lot of players realized there was just nothing left to look forward to. I know I shelved the disc until the next game comes out. Deus Ex is coming up soon, that will help fill the void...
