So apparently Bungie just confirmed that they wouldn't be doing any year 2 DLC, based off the report that came out two months ago from Kokatu. We can officially bury the hatchet, folks. This game is toast. If you want to do King's Fall till Destiny 2 comes out, be my guest. Microtransactions have ruined this game. http://youtu.be/y2mwSg5iPQI
Edit: to everyone saying I didn't read the weekly update and not keeping up with the news, this post was made prior to that. In addition, even with those announced DLC's, having no new DLC-like content until spring or so? That'll have been nearly half a year of no new content other than the small additions of sparrow racing and Festival of the Lost.

At least there won't be anyone here to bitch about the new DLC costing money.
-
10 RisposteSo you're complaining that 'rushed and overpriced' DLC (as many view TDB and HoW) is better than the entire design team working on Y3 Destiny for a full year instead of 6 months?
-
5 RisposteI am done. After today I'm quitting. Unless they bring a mini raid or something worthwhile I'm not coming back this time till destiny 2. It's already dry .. I can't imagine in a month or 2.. they gave up on it.
-
2 Risposte-blam!-ing pathetic. I'm almost done with this game. They're putting minimal shitty effort into doing these events in place of creating new story missions, strikes, or raids. Sorry but adding sparrow racing is in no way comparable to adding more missions, creating new and creative strikes, and raids as well. I can't stand the way they're going with this game and all of the micro transactions.
-
2 Rispostethats because they realized they could sell things like emotes and people would just
throw money at the screen
>make emote in 1/1000th of time of DLC >sell for 1/4 of price >sell many at once to single customer >???? >profit even easier than before
-
Have still to complete entire raid, so count me in... also wanna keep playing pvp, trials with fun people and have a good time
-
Destiny is dead. Thank you for realizing this.
-
1 RispondiNo DLC does suck BUT gives you time to play other games. You can pop into destiny every so often for the events.

1 RispondiI have a hard time believing a bombshell like that would go unnoticed for 2 months without people reporting that destiny would have no paid dlc for a year. Something like than would put a dent in activision's stock valuation. I'll assume this report is a hack "journalist" taking statements out of context in a sad, pathetic attempt to get page views...but if true, I'm sad.

I can't wait to see what people will complain about if bungie comes out and says, the reason for no dlcs is because destiny 2 will dropping in November... And it won't kill the company to not put out dlcs anyways, it's just like every other video game, after a while they stop putting stuff out for them and u either keep playing or trade it in and get something else and wait for the next one, all video games go through this.

Old news
-
I wonder if they have a ballpark idea when Destiny 2 will hit...I can't see these free events tiding people over for another year.
-
1 RispondiUntil the next event is tower invasion.
-
2 RisposteI can sit through Destiny 1 without any more DLCs if it means they'll nail down Destiny 2.
-
5 RisposteModificato da littleandy454: 12/9/2015 6:53:19 PMThey are giving free content while they prep Destiny 2... what other company does that? Sure there are some but none come to mind. Most companies drop the game, a couple DLCs and then let it be while they work on the sequal... you played a game for a year and a half, and they are still making new things to do. What is there for you to complain about? EDIT: Re-worded last line so i didn't sound like an uneducated mongoloid... Those are good examples, i never played WOW but figured it would be one that did if any... Point is, its still not the norm for companies to continue additional content the entire time leading up to a sequal
-
4 RisposteDestiny 2 is going to have a new engine to run off of. I think this may be a reason for no more DLCs as even some of their employees have had an immense amount of trouble with the current one such as adding an update and new glitches and error codes keep coming up. I'd rather they focus on Destiny 2 than keep putting out DLCs.
-
destiny hardly survived the lack of content between TDB and HOW, im not sure what bungie are doing to make sure we arnt bored during year 2 but it best be good
-
Everybody is pretty much playing Destiny along with other games. Bungie is keeping it live.
-
Two maybe kinda quick notes: 1). Bungie & Activision have done what they wanted to do and made what they wanted to make (mostly). If they turned off all the servers now and the game completely stopped, they'd still be able to get players on board for Destiny 2. 2) Bungie is like a handful of other developers in that Destiny is the only game they work on. They're not working on the next Morrowwind, or StarCraft, or Battlefield, or Halo (though that's all 343 does) all their resources have to go to this game. Unless they close the shop doors they're going to give us something.

Does anyone want to pay 20$ for crappy dlc like dark below or get free stuff every now and then?
-
3 RisposteThey have free content updates so stuff like slr and I'm sure a new raid will come out.
-
"Microtransactions have ruined this game." >wants paid DLC I'd honestly rather hop on once or twice a week with free content than pay another $20 to play three or four times a week.
-
It's not really being called "dlc" now. Everything that comes out is gonna be little events like sparrow racing and shit like that. so we're getting more "events" and less "dlc" so people buy silver and they make more money.
-
1 RispondiThink about this There's not enough content to keep the game alive until Destiny 2 Light lvls are being boosted by challenge modes - soon, many people will be 320 or near This would provide less reason to grind - you'll have achieved the goal so to speak Bungie can't afford to drop it's stable player base, on the hope Destiny 2 will drag them back Thus as the video says - small dedicated events, supplemented by micro transactions This could be perceived as good - you can still play each event without cost Where as you'd pay ££$$ for some dlc that would probably be completed fairly quickly and then moaned about - using re-skinned content etc As long as pve players are supported, in other words it's not just the usual pvp fest of too and IB - not knocking you guys
-
Didn't think there was going to be anymore DLC anyway! Just main game. Destiny/ then expansion (the taken king) then destiny 2 then expansion and so on, I thought they was getting rid of stuff like dark below dlc and just giving you extra content throughout the year before next expansion or game, and that's why they bought in micro transactions to supplement the money they got for the dlcs? Maybe wrong
