I keep dying while on an activated pillar in Oryx hard mode, HELP!
Pretty straight forward, I am usually pillar position 2 on the Oryx HM attempts. The strategy in use is to have 2 titans at the top center pillar shooting all Ogres down to 10 to 20 percent health, and once the runner grabs the relic, we will all then jump to the top center pillar to stagger Oryx. However, I have found myself dying before the runner grabs the relic because the Ogres on my side will eventually lose their distraction towards the titans at the top pillar and start shooting me. I am making sure to crouch at the back of the pillar to try and not be seen, and I am also a hunter, so I will throw my smoke bomb and go invisible. Still, they find me and kill me. Is there something I, or the titans at the top, need to do to keep these Ogres from killing me?

Kill the ogres then they can't kill you. Then kill the knights, they're only red bar so 2 headshots with a sniper should do it.

It's cuz the ogres r still alive... lol amazing how killing everything that can kill u actually keeps u alive

If you are on the Front Left platform (the left side if you are facing Oryx when he spawns) make sure to GTFO the platform the [b]second[/b] the relic holder has the relic as the Hive Tombship will track [b]you[/b] and [b]you alone[/b] with an Axion Dart

Try sitting at the back instead of crouching, max out your armour stats too

3 RisposteIt sounds like your runner is slow. A pro runner will have relic before the vessal comes in on the ship. The longer the runner takes the harder it is for the plate guys to stay a live. Also try sitting this gives you a little less profile. Doing the knight strat is really not that hard.

Runner must be fast as possible, so that you can get up on the center plate before all the ogres are weakened. In addition, I suggest sitting in the far back, as it works better than just crouching. If you use a smoke bomb to go invisible, make sure you move, because they will continue to shoot the spot where you were last visible. If you are still being hit, call it out. Make the titans hit the ogres a bit more to keep their attention on them. Might I also add that you could simply kill the ogres, and just snipe the knights as they spawn? Its a bit harder because it requires more bullets, but it's the safest way

Going invisible after one has started shooting at you has a 1-2 second wait before they stop shooting at where they last saw you when you were still visible (This is why people die from enemies while invisible most of the time, because the AI is programmed to keep shooting for a little while longer after the invisibility effect has taken place) I know you say you crouch, but if you're still looking at an Ogre, it draws aggro. Believe it or not. Just reminisce on the Golgoroth Encounter. You couldn't shoot him when it wasn't time to start doing damage to him because you'd be doing absolutely no significant amount of damage. But if you stand out in the open and even if Golgoroth's back is completely turned your way, he'd still sometimes turn and start shooting at you, regardless. Looking at Golgoroth drew aggro

you're just not crouching in the right spot. when my friend showed me the no knight strat, i actually couldn't believe how effective of a cheese it was. and it is a cheese. as far as crouching or sitting goes, i was actually able to stand straight up. i couldn't believe it. i literally never got shot a single time in like 10 wipes

And yes titans up top are probably scared they should take aggro

Do not scope at them, just sit there and do nothing. If you scope at them they will notice you and shoot you

Stay crouched. Don't shoot anything. Hang in the back part of the platform and watch for the guy grabbing the relic. As soon as he has it, jump to sisters platform and get in the bubble.

Good advice here already. I'll just add if you shoot either of the ogres you are more likely to get aggrod. I'm not certain but Ads at ogres could trigger aggro as well..it at least seems that way for me. I always go as far to the edge (you don't have to be on the lighted part it will stay active) I'll just watch the relic holder and pop my smoke a moment before he grabs relic then head for the pillars as soon as he has it.

So if you are back right pillar, sit at the very back right edge of the pillar. Don't use your invisible grenade until you are about to jump up on top of the sister platform so the ogre doesn't shoot you when jumping from your platform up to the sister platform. If you are getting hit by the ogre it's because you aren't in the right spot on the platform.
