Yes. I'm not lying to you. I miss the thorn er. When the weapon of sorrow dominated the light in PVP
Call me:

cructh user
no skillzzzzzz1!1!
EDIT: Edited to express myself better:
Ever since 2.0, Handcannons miss, like you need to roll a dice (RNG) to see if you hit the target. Ask any main handcannon guardian. He will more centainly say YES.
So. And, since 2.0, I don't feel like running behind a gun (Vex Mythoclass, Suros Regime, Thorn, The Last Word, Hawmoon, Universal Remote and MIDA) If they end up getting nerfed. Which sucks the point of grind
EDIT 2: ID don't care if you call me scrub. The point is, during that meta, it was sort of fun goign around. Doing challegnes like NLB. Now, not really
Re-forging its gone
The new light system its decent, I guess
But, another point of the thread was, back in HoW, youc ould use any weapon, if you didn't went against the big 3 HCs (exotics). Last day before 2.0 dropped, I went into a sweaty games of only using auto rifles. Was fun

5 RisposteModificato da Adam: 11/13/2015 2:41:02 PMI enjoyed the game way more before 2.0. Hell, I enjoyed it more back in the Suros days. I'm not sure whether it was because of the older maps, the faster gameplay, or the less OP classes, but the game just isn't fun for me anymore. Now it's just all laser beam Pulse Rifles with infinite range and campers hardscoping doorways. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

Me too. I miss year 1 weapons in general my ldr :( deviant gravity :(. Year 2 sucks I just can't find a reason to bother anymore

1 RispondiThorn was the true underdog of Destiny Crucible that rose to the top to bask in glory. It was always doubted, made fun of, and people were dismantling it left and right. Then came the buff of Thorn, where for a few months it was still underused, but soon people would see its power. Once it made it to the top and used by at least 50% of people in every match, it got too much hate. Still good weapon, but no where near as good as it once was. All that needed to be nerfed was damage fall off and DoT damage. Now HC are way too hit or miss
-
I got the thorn a couple of weeks before 2.0, got it leveled up and then it was useless.
-
I know I miss the last word. I never used it in the way other players were complaining about. The first being hip fire damage like you are aiming down sites. I always used ads except for extremely close panic situations... destiny is just not a game where blind firing feels natural to me. The second was "sniping" across the map. While it may have worked for other players most of my engagements came from an appropriate mid-distance range and less. Plus, many of those kills were just the result of luck because the opponent had already been damaged by team fire in general. I'm not saying tlw was "broken" but it's range and it's accuracy was destroyed by the hand cannon nerf. I know some players still use it effectively but I have already moved on.

Mythoclast* Don't defile my baby.

2 RisposteIt speaks volumes that Eyasluna has awesome stats, but is still inconsistent as a crucible weapon. I miss Hand Cannons. They are just not what they used to be.
-
3 RisposteRIP Hawkmoon, feel bad for XBOX users since they'll never see the Hawkmoons true power to basically out snipe people
-
Good for you

I won 2 rumble matches going positive with the water star adept

3 RisposteIf they had worked on just balancing the exotics, and left hand cannons as a group the way they were, PvP would be much more enjoyable. Now hc's are basically non existent in the meta. Auto rifles are still relatively inconsistent... if you don't use a pulse or scout, you are at a disadvantage. I used to enjoy using legendary hand cannons in PvP. They were a challenge, but felt balanced. You could hold your own in close mid to mid range... And could compete in mid far if the target wasn't moving very much. Now, you basically have to fight close range against shotguns, since you can't hit the side of a barn at mid range, and if you do, there is so much range drop off. I've dismantled 6 of my 7 timurs lashes. Which still bothers me. They were really only good before the first round of nerfs, and even then you had to control the engagements. Bungie needs to stop looking at data for a weapon class with exotics, and judge the entire weapon class by them. Auto rifles weren't a problem, Suros was... Hand cannons weren't a problem, tlw and thorn were... By doing there nerfs, they made pulse the strongest weapons. But instead of nerfing them, they should improve auto and hand cannons so that they are viable options again.

Modificato da Hagalaz-27: 11/13/2015 2:25:05 PMI miss the early days when using Thorn meant you were actually good enough with a hand cannon that you could go into the Crucible as a solo player with a crap weapon with a six-round magazine and keep a K/D greater than 1.0 against players using... well, pretty much anything else. After they lowered the standards ("buffed it") so any jackass could use it? Eh...
-
Thorn is still good.
-
6 RisposteI miss my last word bro!!!!!so much fun to play with...I had the most fun in crucible during the handcannon Era.
-
The Thorn worked, and did its job well. Many feel a great weapon shouldn't exist, so any gun that does its job well is immediately trounced and nerf'd. That is counter intuitive. I miss all weapons that worked. Thorn, Vex, Black Hammer. We need better guns, not good guns made worse because they work. BTW, the meta data showed its use, but it's use was because it worked well. After all, the purpose of weapons are to kill the enemy, quickly and effectively. Almost every weapon nerf is because they are effective! Just my thoughts...
-
And yeah, its hilarious aiming at something with a hand cannon just to have it miss because RNG said so.
-
-
I agree kinda. This round of balancing has left crucible a boring mess of people just using pulse rifles and snipers down all lanes across the map. Its so damn boring already. Thought you could snipe with a hand cannon? Now you really can with a pulse.

3 RisposteModificato da Kayeene: 11/13/2015 12:46:41 PMI miss the hand cannon era. I miss using them. Pulse rifles are boring.

1 RispondiTowards the end thorn wasn't bad.... It was the last word that drove me insane lol
-
Thorn is still a good weapon for many activities, such as the old Crucible maps and PvE. Currently, I am using Thorn to complete a Gunsmith quest. Yesterday I used the weapon to kill an Ultra and receive an exotic, something I have done several times.
-
I miss it because I never had huge issues with it. The Messenger was still amazing and that's what I used with Icebreaker and BTRD.
-
Same over here I hate pulse rifles.
-
This just might be me, but I almost ALWAYS hit with Hawkmoon, Ace of Spades, and Imprecation. Lord I hope I didn't just -blam!- myself. SMH.
-
I miss it too bruh and I never even had thorn, it just felt better to get killed by it in the crucible
-
I enjoyed all forms of crucible. I raged at em all. I played em all. I never quit
