The Sidearm is the answer
It's the answer to the shotty.
And I'm not talking about the players who cry about shotguns and die to shotguns because they have zero awareness. And do nonsensical things. And then wonder why they ALWAYS die to shotties.
I've been using the new sidearm from iron banner. And as soon as I see someone pushing me. A couple of back steps and a switch to the sidearm. And it completely rips up someone pushing with a shotty.
Of course,
1. I had to be aware - takes practice
2. I have to aim - takes practice
3. If I make a mistake, recognize what I did wrong and correct the mistake - not get on forums and cry about OP shotguns.
I've never been a shotgun player. So the sidearm is a complete answer to how I like to play.

I really want to like sidearms but they aren't very stable at all, and I run sniper 99 percent of the time and am always trying to work on my sniping. Shotguns aren't really a problem for me. I always usually get several kills from shotgun guys rushing in around corners, doorways, etc..

The sidearm really does counter Shotguns well, I've been saying this since TTK came out. Vestian Dynasty just wasn't getting the job done for me before TTK, but damn, do these new sidearms feel good. Killing the kamikaze shotgunners makes my day. If only they could deal with snipers ='D

sidearms are awesome. ive completely moved on from shotguns for the versatility and clutch ability of the sidearms. i absolutely love it and the ttk is ridiculous depending on range/crits.

Yeah I've been doing the same thing with fusion rifles. Except the problem is I don't PvP a lot so I kill them and then end up falling off the map

I uses to never use them because people said they weren't effective in PvP. To an extent they were right. I don't have ttk but I have everything else so my only option for sidearms is the vestian dynasty. Side arms for me are what you want when you're in cqc positions and want a weapon that can down a guardian at a reasonable distance (especially from shotguns). Even jumping up in the air and popping out shots is accurate and can disorient your opponent if done correctly. With the shot package perk not being available, I feel like more people are gonn start shifting to side arms

7 RisposteI used to ignore sidearms but i got a pretty good roll on my havoc pigeon, and i can see how there are situations where id want one. The IB one looks better but i dont really care for the vendor perks

8 RisposteI fell in love with sidearms too lately. Btw check out the new monarchy sidearm from the vendor. Very beastly. Snapshot/ target acquisition from the 2nd site, reactive reload, battle runner, and high caliber rounds. Cqc beast. I am looking for a rangefinder perfect role sidearm still.

Last night when I played skirmish with the IB sidearm, after couple minutes of humiliating all the shotgun users with it, other five changed their shotguns to sidearms. Funny how they thought they were getting stomped because I was using a sidearm but it was fun couple matches :-) Sidearms are a good choice and absolutely destroys anyone who thinks its a good idea to use shotguns as a primary.

The havoc pigeon is a beast. The crucible vender sells a monster roll too. Feeding frenzy and crowd control.

6 RisposteSidearms are way more powerful in crucible that I realized. I got burned down in IB by havoc pigeon hard last night. Dude had some serious skill with it. Wish I could remember his gamer tag to give him props. Never took them too seriously before, but I'm going for the IB sidearm now

Man I liked sidearms when the vestian dynasty was the only one. I knew that someday I wouldn't be that weird one who used it.
