2 RisposteYou need to Relax. I think Bungie gets the Memo
-
I know of a few mmo's that offer a consumable item to allow new players to skip the simple level grind. Especially since the "game starts with the end game". I wouldn't bother with one if I were new, but what about this: let's say I switch over to a PS4 from my 360. Now, I have a lot of work ahead of me starting from scratch with my characters. Since I've already played the base story 3 times, do I really NEED to do it 3 more? No. Am I going to pay to skip it....honestly probably not. But I will say this. I don't care one bit if someone else does. Doesn't affect me in the least. And as long as micro-transactions are only ever for extras and non-essential items, I don't care about that either. Increased drop rates...big whoop.
-
Here is what I don't get: you're so caught up and focused on what some "christmas noob" might get after you've had that item for months. You should never let someone else's experience or access to things in the game affect your enjoyment of your time spent in-game. Ever. If you're not deriving fun from simply playing, then that's on you and whatever your personal deal is. I frankly don't care if they sell a boost item, as I probably wouldn't be interested in using an item like that. But, being an adult, I have my own money and I can make my own decisions; and those decisions won't ever be influenced by what other people are doing, or motivated by some sort of jealousy in hindsight.

Here have a tissue

3 RispostePeople still play Destiny??
-
1 RispondiWould Bungie lower drop rates to boost sales of these items? I think they would. Actually, the money grab with these guys is starting to disgust me.
-
3 RisposteWouldn't the redbull xp bonus already be pay for performance?

7 RisposteModificato da ActualMagnum: 10/15/2015 1:34:06 AMThen why does ESO sells xp boosters and get away with it?

9 RisposteIf your playing destiny you have the money

2 RisposteQuite a leap between this
Yesterday, Luke Smith confirmed via Twitter they do not plan on selling consumables to buff king's fall raid drop
and this
Just because Luke Smith said they no longer have plans to sell these consumables which directly impact Raid drop rates doesn't mean they weren't before this post happened.

Never, ever, should one's real life financial situation affect his ingame status
You may want to inform streamers and MLG players that their financial situation that allows them to play 24/7 is wrong. Might as well send that note to all professional sports organizations as well.
-
*sigh* ever heard of the slipper slope fallacy?
-
7 RisposteEver heard of scuff controllers? They cost 'real money' and will give you an advantage over other gamers of ANY game. You know Astros? They'll let you hear people sneeze from across the map. You are worried about drop rates? You sir are an idiot. No, I don't want these things in the game, but you are just sounding like a baby jealous that others might play with toys that are available to everyone...
-
Cosmetic and limited emotes is just about acceptable. Anything else even making less grind is bad, because then bugie designs the game with more grind to make consumers want to buy the item. If that ever happens its time to leave. I left COD due to elite weapon packs for sale. Its called principal.
-
I agree we should all be hard pressed against micro transactions that affect gameplay but honestly I don't mind the starter subclass one it would only really help people who are new to the game it doesn't really affect anyone else. I've been playing since day one and if hate to have to grind my way up from 1-40 and all 9 subclasses again.
-
Beta player here with 2k+ hours ingame and still loving it! I will leave in a heartbeat if that cr@p finda it way into Destiny!
-
Signed. Don't do this, Bungie!! Cosmetic-only!
-
Ya wanna know what I think is gonna happen? Micro-transactions will be coming. But you will probably be able to buy glimmer, strange coins, marks, stuff like that. This game is essentially copying gtaV. They'll offer you the chance to buy in game currencies to buy in game things, and as a result they will release free updates and add ons to the game, similar to gta.

People telling other people how to spend their money makes me sad.

1 RispondiNot being funny, but if a Xmas noob as you put it, came along and got 3/4 of the raid gear in 1 run...it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. The raid is now just the same as the others -the puzzles are worked out, the bosses are freaking easy (as long as you have a good fireteam), and if they bought the gear (if that became possible, or an item to get better drops) thats up to them. But if that player who bought their raid gear is happy, then why should that bother me? We all play games in our own way, and nobody has the right to make others feel like a scrub/noob/bad person, because they made a decision that you don't like, or that the "majority" dislike. The ONLY DLC's i have parted money for, is The Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone, and everything Destiny related. That's it. I would never pay any company real money for an emote, xp boost etc, its just a waste to me. Let me ask you this: Luke Smith "um guys, listen up, we are releasing 2 new Sleeper Simulant quests, 1 will give you a level 320 super duper version of that gun, no elemental damage, for free, the other quest will cost you £1.50 but will give you a 320 SS, with an element of your choice, and a new skin on the weapon available only by using silver" are you telling me, that if you saw some player on your fireteam with the 2nd option SS, that you would complain to them, or boot em, for living a different lifestyle to you?

3 RisposteDamn son. Don't even know where to start disagreeing with you. I started typing a lengthy dialogue on how your comments are nonsense but realized I was starting to make the same demented rambling noise you had already posted and that didn't sit well. Short version then. None of what you have posted is game breaking. At all. Increased drop chances are fine. Three of coins broke things a little when they landed until a simple patch sorted that mess. Moot though, those look more and more like misinformation. XP buffs and subclass infusions? Don't matter at all. Did the Spark of Light cause any issues? Nope. Just gives newbies and experienced players with low level alts a way to get straight into the good stuff without doing the story stuff. Meh. Your post does you no favors. You demand attention through a misguided sense of entitlement. Hoping we will all jump on board your attempt to stall a revenue stream to be used by the casual in order to benefit the dedicated as well. Are you going to turn your nose up at free content allowed by this increased revenue? No? Then you cannot stand on the picketline. Go home. Pat your cat. Make yourself a milkshake. Watch Marley & Me. Pretend you didn't cry. But just stop being outraged over something that doesn't affect anyone negatively. Git

Lets face it Destiny always has been and always will be a money pit for casuals.....there I said it. Now everyone quit complaining about it and just stop playing the game if it bothers u so much.
-
Is bungie destined to continue with mass stupidity?
-
The mouldering shards I think are fine in the game. What does it really matter? I know we "put in the time", but it is just a game. Do we expect people to grind endlessly at low levels for vendors and currency they can't use for forever anyways? We had the luxury of having those vendors sell us top notch gear when those levels were relevant. Isn't that a double standard to say we "earned" it when we had vendor gear to help us? I wouldn't buy them, but why are they a big deal? Unlock class stuff, get to lvl 25. So they are barely halfway to endgame content with skills that would probably have all been unlocked at that point anyways? There is nothing pay to win there. More like pay to catch up. Is it lame? Sure. But that is NOT pay to win.

1 RispondiModificato da sargetc: 10/15/2015 12:15:11 AMmeh, as for the "buying xp" thing.. if they do it, it would really only be appealing to someone new to the game or someone who has left then come back after deleting their characters. This is not new to long term MMO type games, it is a good route to attract new players. Put it this way, I started playing March 2015... by then.. it seemed like EVERYBODY was lev 34, w/ amazing gear and fully leveled subclass... i continued playing, but there was some frustration as it took me three months to "catch up." Now imagine in six months time when we all have lev 60 players and light level 500. How many new players do you think Destiny will attract with that kind of level gap? As more players fade out, they must be replaced with new gamers or we never get that ten year plan. I for one want to see the story through to year 10. That means the game will have to find ways to keep bringing new blood in. I wouldn't fault anyone for wanting a little "boost" to get them started.. but that's just my humble opinion. (sorry my browser double posted for some reason)

i am fine with the xp boosts and such because you still have to grind that light level up but when it starts affecting gear like engrams and such that is when i will leave. P.S. it still worries me an i feel like it is more of a matter of time
