I made this post simply to see if anyone shared my frustration with the recent Patch to Destiny's crucible. I am all for accurate damage drop off and trying to encourage people to use a variety of weapons, but I dont agree with being forced to use pulse rifles in order to stay in the Meta.
I've seen every phase crucie has been through and was here for the dreaded Thorn/TLW outbreak, but even then; people weren't so much complaining about the range and effectiveness of all Handcannons but just the afore-mentioned headaches.
I dont agree with handcannon accuracy being stomped on and also tickling the opponents i do manage to hit from mid range.
Even when using Hawkmoon max BS damage is 60 compared to the 64 damage it did. With HS doing 90 - 122 (157 with 2 stacked bullets) compared to the 94 -126 damage that used to give this gun its strength.
I can't tell you how many people seem to: A~phase through bullets not even talking latency or B~ giggle after I tickle them with my new water gun, Aka Survive with slivers of health.
Im so tired of getting the first shot on someone and dying because of weapon choice even when its in its intended range. PulseRifles seem to be more accurate and also have no damage drop off making Hand cannons useless and putting them in that same spot Scout rifles were in before 2.0.
I hope we can all agree to my main point: if Handcannons are to be so inaccurate, there should be much less damage drop off... or buff accuracy so that i dont feel blind and dumb shoting at an enemy charging straight at me, but still missing 3 of 6 shots fired even if they dont hurt him/her I atleast know im not going crazy...
Dont even get me started on Snipers in crucie... let me know how you all have been fairing. I welcome all conversation to the topic!
Edit# 1: Broke it up cause of reading complaints lol.
Edit# 2: Thanks to everyone for sharing their feedback and being civil (for the most part) with their contributions. I really do appreciate all of constructive contributions.
Edit# 3: found an amazingly rolled Eyasluna in crucie and its so much better than my Hawkmoon.
Check my Titan out if you wanna see its specs. It feels like a year one HC with the ranges its been hitting people from and the accuracy it has.
All my shots even from far ranges hit and with accurate Damage drop i cant snipe people but I've been decimating PR at that med to short range! I had shed a few tears when I realized how accurate the gun was...
I personally still hold true to my post, but I've atleast found 1 gun that isn't blind or rebellious. See you all in the crucie, Gaurdians! Gods-speed if we face off in our trainings! ;)

1 RispondiHC's suck nuts comapred to what they were, bungie seriously -blam!- HC's across the board with last nerf, Ive been Hc user since Day 1, i know how they used to feel and how they should and how they do feel now, and well, they suck major nut sack compared to the old days. Only Hc that is wortha crap imo in Destiny 2.0 is Ace of Spades (fully maxed ofc), havent found anything that can compete with that Hc's range, (If anybody is curious how a Hc used to feel, Ace of Spades gives a good broad idea of how they used to be)

I think the confusion is that people think hand cannons are supposed to be the best at × range. But I don't think so. I think they are supposed to be useable at all ranges but Excel at the mid range. Close range belongs to auto rifles, mid to pulse and long to scouts. You will lose to weapons at their true range but beat out the other two at each range. I think the nerf was fine but not enough was done to check pulse rifles which were still doing fine even when thorn/TLW was king. I the k Pulses need a slight range nerf and should get hit harder by bullet flinch. The range so scouts damage scales better and the flich so sauto rifles can abuse with consistent hits at their range and give HCs a fighting chance at mid. Then everyone can bow to their Scout Rifle overlords.

1 RispondiI think auto riffle are still a joke
-
They can keep the damage dropoff, but I hate using a weapon and missing something right in front of me even through my aim is spot on. We need the accuracy back.
-
Modificato da CleverInvective: 10/6/2015 8:26:31 PMThey feel "off" now because everyone grew so accustomed to how much accuracy and range they had. Now we are trying to use them in the same method as before and they are struggling. It's a mid range weapon now. Where it was always supposed to be.

3 RisposteModificato da Chupidog: 10/6/2015 1:38:56 PMSo yea I was playing this morning and I think the nerf to accuracy was ridiculous especially for the hawkmoon. Handcannons are so inconsistent based on factors that have nothing to do with player skill. It is almost making them not worth using unless you want to put yourself at disadvantage. check out the video. In the second engagement the target wasn't even moving and I aimed for the tippy top of his head and it registered as a body shot.

Hand Cannons ruled EVERY aspect of Destiny in a big way, to the point that many in the community were about to have emotional meltdowns. Bungie obviously got tired of it all and decided to give Hand Cannons the death sentence with an over-nerf instead of balancing them. Now they're really just glorified "Sidearms" misplaced in the primary slot. To be balanced that need a slight buff, or a move to the secondary slot.

1 RispondiOP you have 18,000 thorn kills
-
Yeah I love hand cannons, but now they feel off, its not because I cant get kills with them, I still can, but idk, something doesnt feel right anymore, and I really dont like pulse rifles or autos. So yeah, pvp has been boring to me now, thankfully, lots of pve content.
-
Well part of the problem is that the nerf hit range/accuracy, stability, and aim assist stats. I could have got behind a range nerf, maybe even a stability nerf, but you add all that on top of an aim assist nerf and it's simply too much. HC's are meant to be the strongest weapons in close to close mid in crucible with a small lethality falloff at mid that grows signifigant at anything beyond. Right now they struggle to hit anything in close to close mid and are useless anywhere beyond. I don't want them to be what pulse rifles are now, but they should have a place in the game, which is something they really don't have right now.
-
I don't think so, I do pretty good in crucible and that's all I use it in
-
I'm holding on to my handcannon in search of a second Fatebringer. My current one has Outlaw. With good gameplay I have it up pretty much constantly. The Holy grail is Outlaw + Firefly. Hoping for RNGesus to grant me one..
-
Hand cannons are at a great spot. If you are good at a first person shooter then you will be good with handcannons. They were so incredibly overpowered before the taken King
-
No, not even gonna read the Great Wall of text. Just, no.
-
Modificato da sakuhra: 10/6/2015 5:56:25 PMI think they are perfect. I domt understand anyone who says handcannons suck now. I can still do well in pvp with hawkmoon and tlw. And at the same time, guns like Monte Carlo, bad juju, and mida multi tool are viable options as well.
-
Hawkmoon is still good
-
3 RisposteHand cannons still kill in one headshot in PvE. The raid Scout doesn't even do that. I've dominated in crucible with Hawkmoon on my Warlock and my Hunter. I ran the raid with some douche elitist was talking trash about my Imago Loop being 309. "He used a raid weapon to raise that crappy hand cannon up." More kills than him and the Ogres on my side were cleared every single time. My only complaint is the limited reserve ammo. That was uncalled for and overly done.

27 RisposteFew guardians have more kills with hand cannons than I have, so I can consider myself an authority in their use. I have to say, I do not understand why BUNGIE felt the need to need every hand cannon, when the issue was only with three particular exotic weapons. Legendary hand cannons have been ruined unnecessarily, they should have been excluded from this nerf. All hand cannons take skill to use, and that applies even more so when you are using legendary hand cannons, which do not have unbalanced perks like the exotic variety. BUNGIE have destroyed snapshooting with hand cannons. It is the snap, that gives you the edge in a sudden gun fight. Even more so since the 'age if the pulse/rebirth of the auto'. But, you cannot consistently snapshoot any more, sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss, but in every case your precision is questioned, were previously there were no questions. Where snapping was a skill, BUNGIE have chosen to turn it into an art form at any range, other than very close. In addition to this, the accuracy of hand guns has dropped slightly, not by much, but enough to slow down consecutive shots, due to minute aim adjustments, corrections or blatant misses that occur. In addition to this, it is impossible to consistently shoot out of close range, which means that you can be taken out by pulses and even autos at the medium range. At close range, hand cannons are out matched by all other close range weapons. Shotguns, sidearms, make you feel like your precision counts for nothing, and you really do feel like you are a fish in a barrel, with every other weapon type shooting in at you. If that was not bad enough, the magazine nerf is unforgivable. Combined with every other nerf, the reduced magazine size, makes hand cannons unusable. If like me, you plan for three rounds per kill, the penalties to snapshooting, and the random nature of shots that are close to medium range, you can find yourself firing four possibly five instead. You have to reload after every encounter, and this makes anything more than a one-for-one situation, a failure. To remedy the predicament that hand cannons find themselves in, BUNGIE have to grant parity in range with pulses and autos, they should all occupy the same range. It is a ludicrous situation to have main primary weapons operating at different ranges. Snapshooting into the medium range has to be restored. I would happily take some form of damage fall-off, over a blanket nerf to accuracy. In the close range, hand cannons should operative exactly as they did before the nerf. If snapshooting, and accuracy were improved, there would also only be a need for a modest increase in magazine size. One final rule. In all instances (up to medium range), EVERY hand cannon should kill with three precision hits. Come on BUNGIE, hand cannons were once skilled weapons, an executioners implement, and the ultimate projector of force. The issues were never about the weapon type, but particular weapons. The legendary hand cannon nerf was completely unnecessary, and this nerf in general, feels deliberate, punitive, and vindictive.

nope its good how it is
-
2 RisposteI still use hand cannons but It definitely doesn't feel the same as it used to, it just feels like something is missing
-
I do just fine with Hawkmoon or Ace of Spades.
-
16 RisposteEvery fps that as ever existed has pistols as SECONDARY weapons! I quit this game when hand cannons became primary.. It makes no sense. Go shot a gun.. Pistols lose in all gun fights against ar15s....
-
3 RisposteI mained a fatebringer. And now I can't find a hand common that feels like what I'm used to. I bought the fwc hand cannon but it's terrible - sad face
-
1 RispondiFix accuracy and reserve ammo and I'd be happy.
-
Very weak now, very disappointed.
