Theory: Year two players will not get the exotic sword...
That step where you have to grind for hours for relic iron or whatever you need for your sword quest, I have a theory thats where they will give up. They dont remember the days back in year one before you could just buy all materials...you had to grind for them. Year one vets remember the grind for relic, helium, spinmetal and sprit bloom. I think they will give up because their not used to it, their used to being able to buy it. Just a thought I had during the grind.
Edit: Just a tip: Dont do a void sword on a hunter. The 500 kills you have to get with void abilities is insane. The bow kills only count if you kill them with the arrow and the grenades are ok'ish and melees are not void. Pretty much had to get 500 grenade kills... :/
Edit: Damn...all I did was have a thought while doing the grind and thought I would come here to express my theory. I didn't know you bastereds world run my phone battery dead, cause it vibrates every 2 seconds for a new notification...lol
Edit: And you think the horror ends there....o no. Next Wednesday, I think you have to do a light lvl 300 strike.

I was farming for 4 hours for my relic iron, completely forgot you can't get the crystals from chests xD I didn't get bored cause I was used to grinding hundreds of materials before we could buy them.

Tbh I'm in no rush for the exotic sword the legendary works better for my setup (exotic secondary \ primary)

4 Rispostecurrently on 96% on void kills with a hunter, do story missions, it drags it up by 5% each mission

I have the void with my hunter and I know it's gonna suck to get all those kills. No biggie. I did the original thorn bounty with my hunter only using a void shotty. It took forever but makes the reward sweeter

Definitely go for the void sword on a warlock. Doing it on the other classes has got to suck. I did the arc sword on my titan. Went in the fusion rifle kills building right there at the spawn point in the Steppes. Pretty quick, plus there's plenty of spinmetal around.

Or just do what i did, get a ghost that detects the material you gotta farm and just go nuts. Farmed helium filaments like that. Had all 10 flares in like an hour. The ghost make material farming easy as crap

I did void sword on my hunter....OMG THE GRIND.

I knew the route, well a route for spinmetal (beginning area of sepiks strike), i knew the helium route, venus route, i never learned the route for relic iron, was never really in need of it. I just went to the building 5 area and did it there.

I still know my material farming routes.. and keen scout makes them that much easier. I'm not looking forward to having to get void kills on my Hunter either...

4 RisposteEveryone here thinks they are better than year 2 players cuz they can farm lmao. Seriously anyone can farm, I know year one players gave up on that. Anyone can give up, anyone can do it. Stop feeling special about yourself.
