Is this your corrupt business model now? Wow nice job in screwing your own reputation. This is what games have come to now? Suck you for all your worth cus your too cheap to make a real game for an overpriced $60? This industry is going downhill fast.
Idk how you go from making halo with free dlcs to this awful garbage bullshit. This is saddening.....
Edit: I'm not talking about playing ttk stuff I'm talking about the locks they put on stuff that weren't there before. Such as crucible, they take away normal Playlist and combined 2 game modes? The other dlcs didn't do this they left the crucible Playlist alone and added new dlc specific Playlist. This is blantent F U for not buying our overpriced dlc since somehow a dance move cost $20.
I was gonna eventually buy this but after this stunt I'm done. Many good games coming out later this year.
Summary: in summary there is vanilla stuff being locked out here. Heroic, daily, nightfall, choice of what to play in crucible not a combined Playlist, cannot buy vendor gear cus they upgraded to marks that are only in year 2 and no thats not a coincidence that's a design of obsolescence. From the patch notes it sounds like nightfall and others are locked unless you have ttk.
Edit: 335 comments. I think I have uncovered a civil war between guardians.
This guy gets it: StupidSlinky
It's funny how all the illiterate asshats just assume posts like this are people bitching about not having access to new stuff without the new dlc.
But that's not it.
Putting new stuff aside. Those without ttk can't do much of ANYTHING they were previously able to. The story is about it. Strike missions are locked at a rewardless level 20 (and their capped at 34) where's the sense in that? Not even a 30 or 34 mode to make it at least somewhat difficult.
PvP playlists that were always available are no longer. (Unless that's what the "classic"mode is, but is it rewardless like the strikes?)
Hell if you don't own ttk you can't even watch the new intro, they didn't even do that with the other dlc's.
It's a blatant push by the asshats behind bungvision to force those that wish to sill enjoy parts they use to be able to play, to buy their new crap.
Think of it like this, it would be like Blizzard locking World of Warcraft players out of all content past level 20 (regardless of what level you are or content you previously had access to) unless you bought their new expansions.
2 RisposteSo since I bought Mario bros for my Nintendo entertainment system(NES), I should have received every other one for free? Hmmmm wonder who I need to contact at Nintendo about this.
i should've received them all free I bought the first one. Life isn't fair
-
10 RispostePoint of interest: Nightfall, IB and ToO are not paid for content. Be it for vanilla, TDB or HoW. They're free extras that weren't released in conjunction with any DLC. The first ToO went live at the same time as HoW, granted, but it was a separate piece of content that had been talked about for months previous. As for the daily, weekly and certain crucible playlists... You still have access to the levels/maps so you aren't locked out of anything you paid for.
-
It's always like that first week of dlc us all new the second week back to killing sepiks prime
-
2 RisposteThings you can still play: -the things you have paid for. Things you can't play: -the things you haven't paid for. If the game didn't progress, that wouldn't be fair to the people who paid for new things
-
But you didn't pay for TTK... So why would you get the content... or the level cap...
-
You can buy just ttk for $40. I'm sure everyone will let you know its worth in a week or so
-
quit your bitchin
-
Go play something else? Seriously if you actually gave a damn about Destiny you'd have the DLC.
-
Not gonna lie. Judging by the time I've played and how far I've gotten, it's pretty much a full game.
-
2 RisposteHalo free dlc? Huh? I had pay for my halo dlc.
-
2 RisposteThe needs of the few are outweighed by the needs of the many.
-
I'm not corrupt and I didn't make Halo. You should apologize to me.
-
It's a shame. It really is. Corrupt ethics at its finest. How can you make a case for someone to give the game a try. That picks up a used vanilla copy. Only to find out that they can't do anything unless they buy dlc 1 and 2 to be able to buy ttk to finally have access to the vanilla game as it should've been. You want to entice people to purchase content not force it on them.
-
They did do this everytime, idk why it's news to you.
-
That's how it should be. Why they let everyone become 34 in HOW is beyond me. Just in case you're unaware, you could easily become lvl 34 by doing iron banner or just by nightfall drops. If you're not willing to move forward with the game then you shouldn't have access to much. They clearly said its like buying a new game, hence why everyone who didn't buy it is basically locked out of everything. They explained it loud and clear but yet this community doesn't listen. Oh well. I figured this would happen anyway, it's the only explanation that made sense.

4 RisposteThey can't cater to the lowest common denominator. They are a business. Their model is to make money just like every other business. You either evolve with the series, or get left behind. Just the sad facts. Go mow some lawns.

Tears collected
-
4 RisposteYes they sure do. Why would they let you play something you didn't pay for? I paid, I get to play. Stop the whining already.
-
We've been through this twice now...
-
4 RisposteLol its a choice to buy the DLC....
-
It's called capitalism
look it up
-
It would be a blatant f you to the players who bought ttk if they still had to play two of the new game modes each week when we paid 40$ _.
-
2 RisposteYour not allowed to play a game unless you buy it???
-
It is overpriced i will say that!
