K.D Gods
Hopefully my slightly relative title will get a few of you guys in here for some light conversation. RELAX. And enjoy my rant.
It is clear, that any team looking to win at trials or just play competitively in general, would look for players with a high K.D. I know I would!
But it makes me oh so sad when it reaches a point where someone would join your party and put you on the spot by saying you have a low K.D of 1. Something. And then they leave.
It makes me even more sad that people on the forums call me horrible names and tell me to "git gud" before giving advice on something.
I used to play Halo competitively and I used to be that try hard kid that would always worry about K.D. And then I grew up.... I was always trying to get that competitive edge on gaming. From in game training like learning maps in and out, working on call outs, and mastering the "Bumper Jumper". To out game stuff like making sure I ate a nutritious meal and exercising before playing to make sure I'm focused and in a great mental state. Also I made sure I played with smaller monitors or TVs with little to no Input Lag, along with wired controllers and great Internet.... I was really into competitive play growing up, but my problem now is... You Guys Make Me Hate My K.D!
Now that I'm older, I always wanted that 60inch flat screen TV to feel fully into the world of whatever I'm watching. So I got it. I love letting my brothers play destiny and I also like doing challenges with them like, "This game must be melee kills only! Go!" Or "This game, use No Land Beyond only! Go!". Had to mix it up a bit since repetition does get tedious and stale from destiny. I'm a very relaxed player. Its just a game, playing mad makes you play bad and it's not worth the stress. Stress kills. I literally have no one I play destiny with online. And I hate looking for randoms because not everyone is as mature as I am(Although I get silly quick when comfortable). But gotta accept fireteams are required for Destiny so aw well. (Cool people add me!)
All I'm saying is....
I consider looking up K.D important for competitive play yes.
I don't like that I am quickly judged by my K.D on forums and in parties. Doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, i feel bad.
And I don't like that most people reading this right now are already thinking to comment on how much of a baby I'm being, and how I should accept that this is the way the people of today are online. Or if I want extra salt on my fries... Or how I should get lost and go play COD or something!
I'm a good player enjoying life. And I wrote this simply because sometimes I have that thought of, dam... I wish I could start fresh on Destiny, and reset my K.D. And go at it for real. But that's the little boy in me speaking. If you're a friendly player and want to add me, feel free to do so. I need friends man! Tired of asking my son if he saw that triple kill I got... He just looks at me and searches for my phone! ( he's 1 years old)

All about cheating......... that's #Crucibleisbroken I tend not to worry too too much anymore, I just bail if I encounter cheaters. Used to bother me a lot but I gave up the fact online mp sucks on Destiny and doesn't look like they're going to fix it. I just got mercied on rift and salvage. Soo wheres the balancing there? My k/d is 1.5 which is decent in my opinion. I'm used to playing better games like Battlefield and COD. But hey!!! STAR WARS IS OUT SOON!!!

Im not a try hard but I do relatively good in crucible. It's the tryhards that ruin the game for me. ( you know, those guys that bring a shotgun on very open maps like widows court, first light etc.)

I feel ya bro ... it seems there is no middle ground. Most of my buds are pve people so when we play they expect me to carry them and its fun but usally ends in a lose. But then when i play with pvp people i feel like im being judged after every game by my kd ,which sucks the fun out of the game. I have suggested hide and seek,Only melee but the kd guy care to much about their stats.

The constant insulting nature of these forums gets tough to sift through for those of us who are relatively casual players with a 60 hour a week job and two children in school athletics. When I load up weapons that work well for me I can hold my own, but often I like a bit of variety which certainly can be hard on the K/D. For me that is no biggie but it has been the focal point of several insulting posts on here. Feel free to add me (gt above) for some chill gaming. And don't worry, if needed I can be quite competitive as a former D-1 college wrestler and a competitive powerlifter with two national and a world title to his credit.

3 RisposteK.D is a mute point. I agree I play relaxed ,and not competitively. I used to in halo. Imo k.d doesn`t accurately reflect how good you are in PvP. Since there is no 1v1. Now if there was a one on one game mode then k.d would more accurately reflect that. Happy hunting guardian!

My only issue with KD is its not always reflective on skill. I almost exclusively play Control and there are games where my team wins, and I have a .25 KD but 11 captures. It's all about how to best contribute to the team

K.D means nothing in Destiny yet, since there is no actual "ranked" playlist, otherwise people harassing other players because of K.D have no real substance to their argument and it's mute. I understand the perspective, as I personally do care about my own K.D, but I've beaten kids numerous times in Trials/Elimination and Skirmish with 2.0+ K.Ds, when I myself, only have a 1.6, which isn't hard to accomplish. Plus, it doesn't help when I fool around in Rumble most of the time, which doesn't approve your overall K.D. Honestly, don't worry about your K.D, just play smart and you'll do fine, especially since 2.00 is out and the Meta is changing (thankfully). I would suggest picking up sniping, if you don't already. Shotgunning is boring and takes no skill.

1 Rispondiyou sound exactly like me. i was a try hard back in the halo days. now i play on 100 inch tv and most likely ahve a few beers in my system whiel i play. im still good, but very casual now and mostly just try to have fun. I also like to do melees only and stuff like that. I only really play a few days a week though. ill add you though. its hard to come across good casual players

Lookin up KD is meaningless, I let my friends and cousins mess around on crucible when they're over. It's a stat that you never know why someone might have a low KD

1 RispondiHey man don't worry about k/d, 90% of people don't give two shits, 5% actually care and the other 5% have shitty k/d anyways but they want a carry in trials.... There's always room for improvement even with people who have the best k/d in the game! Just find 2 people who you mesh well with, do skirmish or elimination so you get better and get to know how each other work and I promise your k/d will improve :) P.s. My son plays on my account as well so I have really stopped caring about my k/d lol.

The try hards with high KD clearly need it to get laid. You my friend are already set for life. Who needs high KD for sex when you're married anwyay. Have some fun, and enjoy yourself. Don't let them get you down.

I for one don't care about people's stats and I would never look them up because I couldn't be bothered, my k/d hovers around the 1.1 mark and I let my 11 year play on my account so it will never go up lol I've been flawless a few times so if people boot me for that fook em ya best of finding a team and work with them and learn. Most people who ask for amazing players etc and check is because they are lacking in skills maybe and want to be carried

same with me, i never knew something like trials would come, i made so many videos, so many funny moments, i'd have to get 4000 kills in a row in crucible without dying to have a positive KD now and i'm NOT that bad lol my best game ever is in the top 3% of all recorded game scores :)

For trials, if i came here i did an intense screening for high k/d's and theres no shame in it. Its agreeable to want to win and get it over with asap. Trials wasnt all that fun to me just because of how stressful it could be and how try-hard people got (myself included). I only screened up to my stats or near it. I, however, would NOT kick someone already in my party if their stats were unsatisfactory. If theyre already in might as well just ride it out ans gove it a chance and give up when we lose 3 rounds (out of the 9, not the 5). I didnt berate people for playing poorly, i just said bye.
