So I'm a day one player and the closer TTK gets the more I'm becoming withdrawn from destiny. I feel as if I'm becoming a brand new player once again. Everything I did in year one doesn't really matter anymore. Call me an elitist if you want but isn't the reason we played so much was for new gear. I though I wouldn't care about year 1 gear being obsolete but turns out I do. I can't even wear my favorite class items anymore unless I want a lower light level. Anyone one that comes into destiny now will be on the same level with someone who played from day 1 and put hundreds of hours into this game. I preordered the CE of TTK and starting to debate getting a refund and letting destiny go. I always defended this game and hated on "I quit" post but it might be my time. I just don't want to start over.
The new raid gear looks stupid

Yes, sorta, but Destiny needed this so badly.

2 RisposteModificato da xBurntxSausagex: 9/11/2015 7:36:54 PMSo do you not want new gear? Your weapons and armor are still functional but you'll find better ones in ttk. And to answer your question not in the least. I'm hyped as hell for ttk.

35 RisposteYou're not starting over, though. You have a huge head start on new players. It you're like me, you have just about every piece of exotic gear already unlocked and waiting for 2.0 blueprints. You have faction rank ups and a huge collection of weapons, armor, materials, exotic shards, motes of lights, heavy synths, strange coins, weapon parts, glimmer, crucible and vanguard marks, glimmer consumables, a friends list full of people to play with and a years worth of PvE, PvP and raid experience and memories. This is a soft reset, and it's to be expected for this style of game. Look man, I can't tell you how to feel. If you don't want to play anymore, don't. But the only reason you should be playing this game at all is for fun. If you're not having fun, then move on.

We're basically needing to relearn destiny. Everything we know is gone and there Is a whole world of new stuff. I feel lost in tbe new crucible maps and haven't found the right sniping lanes. But I'm ok with that. Forcing us to relearn the game extends its life. It feels slow right now, but by Christmas this current 2.0 wil feel like old hat.

Modificato da VioL3ntByNature: 9/11/2015 7:58:01 PMI cant get a kill for shit anymore... feels like all the weapons were nerfed to shit... I dunno, just sucks and feels weird...

i had heard that the items we fell in love with would become obsolete. i thought i was prepared intellectually and emotionally. i felt a twinge in my gut when i first logged in post dl. the gear has become obsolete, but my proficiency in killing stuff means that I, guardian, will never become obsolete.

Modificato da Seldser: 9/11/2015 7:48:38 PMNope Edit: I actually love the new raid gear. Titans look like Kaijus from Pacific Rim and the warlock chest reminds me of the Spawn of Holistic from the Dwarf Fortress succession game Syrupleaf. You can expect once I get the second one I'll probably be telling everyone how my victims are devoured by my gaping maw

1 RispondiI'm continuing on but losing interest fast. My main issue is the lack of story and characters that anyone gives a crap about other than the queens brother (captain obvious) that everyone wants to see smacked around and/or dead. nothing even close to a Sgt Johnson, Cortana, Amanda Keys... even Virgil from ODST... Ask yourself, what characters do you really care about or identify with in this game after a year? We really don't know squat about our own guardians. 10/27 will probably pull my attention away, maybe for good...
-
Once you stop having fun, you have a few options. 1. Stop playing. 2. Reassess why you play. 3. Reassess your viewpoint. Are you seeing all angles? I do this with every game I play. The minute it stops being fun, I just stop playing it.

This week I think took its toll. New format, but no progression as anything we do this week is pointless due to TTK on Tuesday. Next week will be a whole new deal. I am deleting one of my characters to get the full experience.

If you feel bad now just think how bad it will be next year. It is likely that the level cap will be increased again, year 2 gear will need to be replaced, and the whole game(including expansions) will be $60. This is just the nature of modern online gaming. I've had to adjust over the years to the ever evolving nature of computer gaming, after all I'm from the Era of shareware and MUDs. Those days are gone and not coming back. Now we have crowd finding and MMOs. It sucks but times change. Enjoy what you've done, and enjoy what new challenges are ahead. New players being able to catch up shouldn't bother you, if they couldn't we would quickly have no new players. But don't mind me I'm an old school, old school gamer. (And a bit jaded to boot) ;)

The game destiny is now, is the game it should have been one year ago. The transition from starting out to patrols/story missions and green/blue gear to going on to the nightfalls/raids to get end game gear is how the game should have progressed and should be for newcomers to the franchise. Alas it's just been a reboot after reboot of armour, ascension and a rehash of mats expansion after expansion. Next expansion we'll get new gear and another ascension idea that just adds more stuff to an already confused universe.

You're gay

I really fear that, other than the raid, we have already seen EVERYTHING that Bungie hyped for TTK. If, other than the "new" gear and weapons, this is the Bulk of what the $40 TTK offers Bungie is in for major pushback..... just like TDB and HoW did.

1 RispondiBeta guy here. New Raid Gear looks awesome. My year v1 gear works amazing still in PvP.
-
The sense of nostalgia is going away as everything we've experienced has been altered I'm one fashion or another. And maybe that's a good thing. So kind of...
-
1 RispondiNope. I've been around since Beta
-
Modificato da SALVATORI???: 9/11/2015 6:02:25 PMNo. I played beta and day one, but im a casual player i suppose and at this point im excited for some new things to do, you can only kill crota and valus taaruc so many times before it gets boring
-
1 RispondiYep pretty much tired. I'll play crucible maybe that's about it. Btw thanks bungie for screwing everyone who has frontier shell by making it 3 defense,
-
Not at all. I am going to bring tons of experience to the table for my fireteam. Especially when we go into King's Fall on next Friday.
-
Nope! Because there are still newbies running around the wild, asking us Vets to walk them through this and that. We understand the mechanics of this game a lot better than the Little Lights do. And soon, we'll be Vets at TTK. And on top of all that, it's not like Year One content is leaving. They still need us.
-
Have you seen the new trials guns? ohhhh baby
-
Same, except I'm not spending money on TTK. And bump.
-
problem is instead of gradually replacing gear they just went ahead and made it completely worthless
