So I'm a day one player and the closer TTK gets the more I'm becoming withdrawn from destiny. I feel as if I'm becoming a brand new player once again. Everything I did in year one doesn't really matter anymore. Call me an elitist if you want but isn't the reason we played so much was for new gear. I though I wouldn't care about year 1 gear being obsolete but turns out I do. I can't even wear my favorite class items anymore unless I want a lower light level. Anyone one that comes into destiny now will be on the same level with someone who played from day 1 and put hundreds of hours into this game. I preordered the CE of TTK and starting to debate getting a refund and letting destiny go. I always defended this game and hated on "I quit" post but it might be my time. I just don't want to start over.
The new raid gear looks stupid

I generally agree, the changes of the TTK fly in the face of what they stated as earlier goals, namely wearing and using items you like because you like them not being forced into using the best. But....here we are again.

We were part of the year long beta. Now the game is arriving. I got bored after getting and maxing everything i wanted so it's like starting over on a new voyage. Sure cruicible sucks but it always has.

1 RispondiDon't fee that way at all. The game can't stay the same. What would be the point in playing. I love the grind. I'm hyped to find the next new thing. For this game to actually hang around for 10 years, it will have to constantly evolve.
-
in other games, your gear diminishes in effectiveness as new gear is released: thats the same here HOWEVER in other games, your character level progression lasts 20x longer than your character progression here, a subclass can be maxed in a very short amount of time, so the only thing that we have any real progress on are acquiring perfectly, high-rolled armor and good weapons, which all become obselete after dlc drops.

I just want to know why all of my vanilla stuff was bleached.
-
as long as exotics arent completely left behind im fine

I get that the new gear replaces the old. I just think the vendor gear should be good enough to allow you to beat the normal difficulty end game. The previous dlc gear should give you a small edge over the new vendor gear in these activities but not better than the new hard mode end game. That why you are rewarded for your efforts in the past but still have something to work towards.

Everything we did in year 1 matters. Some are just to blind to see it.

9 RisposteYou obviously never played mmos... WoW Example: Coordinate 40 people for MONTHS to beat raid after raid as one of the first in the U.S. To do it, one expansion comes, level cap increases, and common gear 2 levels higher is better than any epic or legendary item you could have dreamed of. If you want to see a game grow, you kinda have to grow with it. #paceyourselfftw

The. New. Raid. Gear. Doesn't. Look. Stupid.
-
Just go with whatever feels right. If you still enjoy if I would get the dlc, if not then just find another game that interests you.
-
If you have this feeling every update then yeah, quit prolonging your suffering, just cut bait and bail, -blam!-ing save yourself man! Nothing wrong with stopping with this game, it's a -blam!-ing game. Go get the witcher or some other game that you can just -blam!-ing enjoy 100%.

2 RisposteI'm just bummed that SO MUCH content is behind separate pay-walls, such as this Red Bull stuff, and the extras shaders, class items, and emotes. I would love to have these new Red Bull items, but I never got any and here I am without the content. I don't mind a dlc every once in a while, but I wish Bungie wasn't making such a commercial game like Call of Duty, with all sorts of BONUS THIS and BONUS THAT. Why can't that stuff be accessed by people who don't have cars to go to the store, or extra money lying around to buy whatever. Sorry for the little rant, still love destiny.
-
If you were complaining about the new guy at work starting on the same pay as you when you've been there longer nd had to earn your pay rise then you'd have a valid point. But this isn't a job, its a game. A form of entertainment to enjoy in your spare time. Those hours you've played are only wasted if you weren't enjoying yourself while playing. In a 10 year MMO ish type game you have to expect that old gear will be left behind. You also have to expect that Bungie want more and more people to buy their game so they make it easier for new players to catch up with old players.

3 RisposteYeah no kidding. Class items imo shouldn't affect your defense or level because once again every guardian will use the same ones for maximum defense. And is this cycle going to repeat over and over until the end of the supposed 10 year plan for this game? I'm better off waiting 8-9 more years and buying the final product.
-
2 RisposteThey should have made the game the way it was intended. You should have to get all the VOG raid gear to do Crota should have to get all crota gear to do POE and should have to get all POE or trials gear to do TTK. Would be so much better this way
-
4 RisposteThats how MMOs work mate. Doesnt make it suck any less.
-
i don't necessarily agree with all the points you're making. I will just say my own opinion. I don't have an interest in MMOs at all. Destiny is becoming more like one i guess. Destiny often feels like more of a tedious chore than fun to me. And that's why i reduced my playing and am not going to get TTK. I play for fun. Nothing else. And as you say, all the stuff i did already is pointless now and i never liked the gear grind and that's more of what the game is offering. It's just for others not for me. I hope they have great fun though. I'll check in and see how the title is doing and whatnot because its an interesting gaming story. But i probably won't be playing it this year.

1 RispondiModificato da Fridén: 9/11/2015 8:57:54 PMDestiny was a year long Beta test (probably the best Beta ever consider the time I sink into this game.) I think with the new system will start to seem more fluid as we progress. Something to hopefully look forward too. Year 1 players will be able to buy upgraded exotics and potentially obtain them faster than those just starting. So at least that is something.
-
1 RispondiTbh I kinda feel that this week between the patch and ttk launching had put me in limbo a bit, there's not much to do pve side as there's nothing left for me to collect of any relevance but there is pvp thou that gets a bit stale after a while
-
Well, your class items can just be reacquired for better stats.
-
I couldn't agree more.
