I have a flawless emblem, but I refuse to wear it in PvP. It will make me a target, make others decide to play super-sweaty to prove some 'point', and if I have a stinker of a game, like everyone does now and again, Im gonna get all manner of grief. Some people are solid in Control, but suck at Trials. Some are the reverse. *shrug*

For those people I have a few words. 1 control and ToO are incredibly different, if you think skill in one transfers directly to the other then that is why you likely haven't gone to mercury. 2 trials is competitive ib is not. Ib is just about the grind so I am going to have some beer turn on St:tos and enjoy the evening while I grind some bounties not really caring how well I play because it doesn't matter that much.

Why is going flawless equated to doing well in other game modes? They're totally different. Guys who have gone flawless have said how they think Skolas is so hard. Yet my buddy and I carry absolute morons through Skolas to the point we're basically two-manning the entire thing. Going flawless doesn't mean you're good. It's never meant that. It just means you're team was better and had better communication. My trials KD is negative, but I made some key kills, revives and supers. All of us did our part and we got to the lighthouse. Just three buddies. Not a twitcher carrying followers for money. Not a post in the forums saying "I'm top player. I'll carry you." Just three buddies who got there together. If I feel like wearing my emblem I will, because I earned it. Maybe I'm not as good at blink-shotgunning as my buddy so I can't demolish teams like he can but I did well in my support role. And I am ok with that. Finishing at the bottom of your teams happens. Maybe you're so good that you always get first. I've gotten top with high KDs and then some games I just have a bad one and go negative. It happens.

It's elitist, ignorant and just plain wrong. Especially if you haven't ever gone flawless yourself. Going flawless in ToO does NOT mean you are an elite Destiny pvp. If you can carry just about any two people through Trials of Osiris then you are probably elite, but you can also easily get carried by two pretty good friends or even have 3 equally good players (that really are just average - maybe slightly above average) but work really well together. I've been through Trials of Osiris flawlessly with two different maim groups (along with a couple lfg teams which are usually much, much more difficult). The first group is made up of two really high level players and myself (I consider myself above average to pretty good depending on often I've been playing. If I've been playing a lot and go with a full tryhard setup I can start wrecking people pretty good, but if I haven't been playing much and choose not to run full tryhard which I usually don't unless you consider The Last Word or Praedyths Timepiece with a non-final round LDR Sniper full tryhard). Anyway the point is they are better than me or at the very least more consistent, but they don't carry me and I have my moments. Then my second group consists of two other players right around my skill level, what's strange is I've gone flawless just as much with. We just work really well together and play pretty clutch at times for our skill level. We've beaten very high level competition including one of the better streamers just by working so well together We've won quite a few matches where we had a worse KD than the other team. You can win with the whole team having like a 0.8 KD for the match. You just have a lot of revives and no one member dominates too much while the other team usually has one guy with like a 3.0 KD and the rest go negative, but the team as a whole doesn't work together well. [b]An even more important note: (ESPECIALLY THIS WEEK) Most intelligent players aren't going to run the usual PVP suspects because the 2.0 update has changed weapon balancing quite a bit. It's easy to have a bad game when you haven't played PVP in awhile and are experimenting when adjusting to new weapon balancing while simultaneously trying new weapons.[/b] These are the people who think KD or worse Grimoire score tell you how good a person is at the game. There is SO much more that goes into it. Who gives a crap if someone got carried through Trials of Osiris then came last in a Crucible match while wearing the emblem? If you start worrying about that it's probably time to unplug your console, turn off your phone and GO OUTSIDE. TL;DR Who cares?
