No enthusiasm from Deej or anyone on that reveal stream
That was probably some of the worst presenting I have ever seen in my life. You would think Deej would be super pumped up and excited. But instead of greeting us with enthusiasm he just goes " Hi. Thanks for joining us" in a boring non enthused tone. That stream literally took my hype level down by about 50%. Bungie needs to find new community manager because they have no idea how to talk to their player base. On top of that some of the things in the stream didn't even work properly. And before you start saying ohhhh its only a test environment. Well yea but you don't present stuff that isnt fully flushed out...
Do youselves a favor Bungie and get rid of Deej he is one of the worst community managers I have seen in my life.
Edit: I am also only referring to the actual presentation itself and not the reveals in it.
Edit: I am not looking for Broman level enthusiasm.

Not only announcing a nerf of the weapon, not only having Xur sell that weapon, but announcing that the weapon will not be taken into year 2.... Cold as ice......... Cold... As... Ice... Motherfckrs.... Bungie trolled hundreds of thousands of players by selling them..... yes..... you guessed it motherfckrs...... Xur sold them all a giant exotic trumpet...... Owned motherfckrs.. Owned...... Ice.... Ice cream owned... Motherfckrs, we stand here today about to enter this damn ship that will no doubt be a cake walk in the coming weeks when a nerd posts the Oryx glitch on Youtube that makes his leg fall off if you disconnect your router........ Motherfckrs, but today we struggle, and enter this dark alien butthole to kill this mothrfckr with our $300 worth of gear, weapons, shaders, and emotes... Some of us here will be carried.. Mike, I'm looking at you............ Most of us will probably rage quit... But some of us will taste victory.. Motherfckrs, last time we did this Bungie blessed us with Necrochasm...... 5 RisposteI know what you mean I'm not particularly to fond of him or cozmo deej was kind of boring like a turn off I think because he can't relate he doesn't really play he even said something about it like "something something I'm a filthy casual" We need someone who plays game and know what we go through, what kind of experiences we love in destiny and the ones we don't, how does he know otherwise? Does he just reads forums?? And there was this other part where Cosmo and deej kind got into little scuffle, was minor but comments were snarky and I sensed little bit of assholism in there, it was in part where deej asked him for community questions and Cosmo kept repeating the vault space ones and deej was like I already said well do that later, and Cosmo was like well you asked to me ask what the community wants to know and this is jt

To be completely honest.....something about deej made me want to punch him in the face... No idea what it was but he put my teeth on edge..the irritation actually distracted from the stream

The man is subtle. That's all that is needed though. I don't need someone excitable telling me how cool some of the new things are - I can tell that for myself. There were 4 of us in a party all watching live and we kept on having to tell each other to shut up because someone would explode after noticing some tiny detail... Hype yourselves.

Tyson and Mark were more natural. Tyson in particular was great at effectively describing the new game mechanics. They spoke like Game Developers.

3 RisposteSigh.... You do know they are video game developers and not tv personalities. Right? Just because you are conditioned to only accept Ryan Seacrest as some sort of baseline for enthusiasm, doesn't mean regular people act that way. Especially regular people who do real nerd stuff, like coding video games or being a guy who's job it is to monitor the "community". Also, this is all old news for them. I am sure they knew of these changes at least a year ago.

When you want to absorb knowledge you should rid your mind of emotions ( in this case "hype") Emotions interfere with how we interpret what is in front of us, what really let you down were your expectations and emotions, after all none of us should want to force other people to do anything or be anything other than exactly what they feel like..

Joseph Staten ... now [i]there's[/i] a man who could demo a game, have fun banter, make it both entertaining and informative and just put in a good presentation all together. Shame he quit Bungie.

1 RispondiThe only "people person"---and probably the only extrovert in the bunch---was Deej. Stoking emotional fires wasn't the purpose of yesterday's reveal. The purpose was to give INFORMATION. To players who are already committed to buying TTK, so that they know what to expect.....and to entice those people who are still holding out, because they aren't sure that what is "in the box" is worth their $40. A of emotionaliity and showmanship would have distracted from that. I think he hit the right tone for what his (and Bungie's) goal was. As for his quality as a community manager, I think he's doing a good job....all things considered. He's got the thankless job of trying to manage a community who all came to this game with WILDLY different ideas and expectations of what it "should" have been at launch....and one that resembles more like a herd of rabid alley cats in terms of its level of toxicity and entitlement.

3 RisposteHe did a fine job. The only annoying thing was every other person asking about Vault space when he stated very early on that they would take a look at it and the entire time people were asking about it. A lot of the Destiny community is just young immature teens with no patience.

As you mentioned, the number of hypes generated through DeeJ are very few. •Also, i felt that he interrupted the other two guys during a few key moments where they had thought out something nice to say. •Also, and pardon me I don't usually do this, i felt his gameplay were out of sync with what the others two were talking about. For example, they start talking about the perks on one of the new weapons, all is hype, but DeeJ skims through the perk being talked about and watches each one instead, spoiling the upcoming reveals, creating not hype but in my opinion coming off as unsmooth. All in all i felt that this presentation was awesome in its own right and im glad that so many tuned in, but i dont FEEL any hype seeping through the screen other than what amass myself. I feel that DeeJ isnt the man for this job. Destiny is such a new IP that it needs the Hype to become what it hopes to become. DeeJ, if you're reading this, Up Your Hype Yours sincerely, Sweden

How many community managers have you seen in your life? What they could do is not say a word, let people bitch on these forums til they're blue in the face, and release whatever they want to. Instead they have his ass up there actually catering to all you bitches. It's genius, they will have you and everyone else sucked in til they decide to let you go. I love what they're doing and I hope it continues like this. Year 1 beta? Who cares, I got my money out of it.
