Starting at 34..? Only 6 levels..?
Kinda disappointed that I only get to play for 6 levels before hitting the cap, I could delete a character but still... I'd like it if say, as we found new armour to replace our current, our light would go down as our defence goes my, then by the time we have all new armour we're level 20 or something like that? Anyone else?
Edit: Bungie's system will look at all our gear in our inventory and vault to figure out what level to start us at, so as I'm level 34 with 34 levelled gear I'll be started at level 34 in TTK with only 6 XP levels till the level cap.
Edit 2: I don't want to deleted my armour that I worked so hard for just to make the grind longer for no reason, I wish we all just started at 20 to enjoy levelling with XP before starting the light grind at 40 (to have the strongest gear)
Edit 3: I know level 40 isn't the end as that really when the gear grind will start, I just really enjoy the XP levelling, so I'm bummed that I can only see that glorious golden light 6 more times lol

OP makes post complaining he only gets to level six levels. Makes an edit saying he doesn't want to make the grind longer than he has to by deleting gear. Seriously, are you fvcking joking? The dumb on the forums is astronomical.

New light level cap is gonna be like 400 something

Well with each of the previous expansions we only went up 2 levels each (given these were light levels). So being up to grind 6 levels as well as grind for light with this one expansion is a step up. Don't forget that the expansions they come out with in year 2 will also have a level increase.

3 RisposteFor the dark below it was increased by 2. For house of wolves it was increased by 2. For the taken king it's increased by 6. What is the problem here?

Put all your exotics and legendaries on a different character leaving a few in the vault and delete whatever character you like most then use the spark of light

With new pve and pvp quests, new ghost voice, new leveling system... it'll completely be worth it, and it's what many of us will do. Just to experience it how it should've always been. Edit: Just wait until after TTK drops to delete your character, lest you lose whatever exotic blueprints that toon has found. Who knows how that works?!

Delete you character and start at 25. Just like they told you how to in the reveal.

1 RispondiI'll admit I was hoping for a level 20 start too, but you know the forums. It would be like a tactical nuke went off in a microwave. But at least hitting 40 isn't like hitting level 34, even once we've hit the max level we still have to work towards other things.

2 RisposteLight levels now are defence and attack the amount of defence and attack you can do. The levels you are at 20 and got to 40 it seems to be. Your light levels are different.

3 RisposteIt's only for one of your characters from what I heard they will select your best character considering its gear, and weapons. I believe the rest will need the spark of light. I could be wrong, but in confident that's what they said.

1 RispondiI have a feeling(and hope) a lot of XP is needed to rank up from 34-40. Especially as once again we will only start getting ledendary items once we hit level 40. I miss this about the game.

1 RispondiOur 34 is light level...the original level is being increased to 40 so that's more then 6 levels..light also changes, I think I saw a screenshot with light level 214...I don't know what that means but well see(missed the stream :d)

5 RisposteI have a couple of suggestions. If you are happy to start from scratch for TTK, the simple solution would be to wait till after the launch, put all your character's armor and weapons in the vault, delete your character and start a new one. If you prefer not to start from scratch, I have another idea you could try first, and if it doesn't work, delete your characters as above. Whether or not this will work depends if Bungie's levelling system only counts armor carried by each individual character plus your vault. If they check your entire account it won't. You will need to prepare for this leading up to the TTK launch. - get a full set of low level armor (you can get white/common armor engrams from the Cryptarch). - just before launch, equip the low level armor to your character, and move all your good armor to your other characters. As long as you don't have too much armor for your other characters to hold, you can have at least one character at a lower level. You may even be able to lower the levels of all three characters, if only armor for each character's class which is carried by that character or in your vault, is counted for the level calculation. It will also depend on whether; - you have one character of each class - the armor you have for each class can be carried by other characters. If all of the above applies, try the following; - get a set of low level armor for each class - equip low level armor just before launch - move all your high level armor for each class to a character of a different class When you are done, if you check each character and your vault, the only armor you should be able to find for that class is the low level armor you equipped. If it works, your level would depend on the level that the common armor gives you. I don't think common armor even has any light, so this would put you back to level 20. Just an idea, might work, could be worth a shot if you don't want to start at level 34. Otherwise you'll have to delete and start from scratch.

1 RispondiYeah only 6 levels, but you have no idea how much xp you need for each level. Going on from xp to get a mote of light is about 40,000 (its basically leveling level 20 over and over) if they did what they did from 1-20 by gradually adding xp to each level, 35-40 will take awhile anyways.
