I think one of the problems, is that the report function is too broad. There need to be more directed options. Like Disrespect/Threats thats like going 0 to 100 real quick. There need to be more targeted reports. Possibly even so far as a reason why it is being reported. For example: If i report this post as Offensive, they need to know why it is offensive, like if i was of the Jewish faith and you are making anti-Semitic comments. Also there needs to be a report function for trolling specifically. And THEN there needs to be a warning system, three warnings and you get a ban, for like 48 hours, second ban is a week, 3rd is a month, you can see where this is going.

You could have 1000 ninjas in every facit of these forums and it still won't stop people from posting stupid shit. This post won't do anything nor change anything. This issues goes beyond saying mean things. If you are so spoiled by gender bias that it blinds you from the seeing humanity, then nobody can "blam off" enough for you. There are very few threads that contain censored comments that "were met with ninja justice" in regards to these topics. If you say "I hate 'rando Bungie employee' they should kill themselves", your chances of being muted or deleted are greater than saying "'lgbt' people are abominations and all should be hunted for sport'. Personally I am not asking for Bungie to cater to anyone's feelings or sensitivities. This a game forum and off topic exists as a less moderated section. I know mods are busy and over worked as it is. I am asking my fellow geeks and nerds to be allies. I'd ask jocks too, but as the movies show us, we only end up with ogre. The ninjas dont patrol offtopic that often. And even if they do its up to them to determine whether it was a snarky comment or actually hate. Someone just throwing insults isnt going to be removed if that was the case these fourms would be barren. This is the internet, as long as you have a public opinion be prepared for someone to make fun of or argue with you. The lgbt community, while I personally feel for the plight, needs to get not everyone agrees or like the subject and due to this they will face some discrimination

It's not a free speech issue. The people who suggest it is, are wrong. These forums [i]belong to Bungie.[/i] They choose what language is allowable. And, unfortunately, they will ban as few as possible because their primary goal is financial gain. Social justice is simply something DeeJ gives lip service. To be clear, I'm not suggesting a for-profit company's primary motivation should be social justice - though in a perfect world, it would be - but Bungie's tolerance of bigoted and hateful language in these forums is disgraceful.
