Seriously, beating crota should be a requirement to play anything in TTK
Its the whole basis of the entire story...the new dlc should be locked until you down crota
If anyone needs help on xbox with crota gt RPO1728 on 360 and 1 we could 2 man the entire raid in about half an hour...im usually on 7-11 east coast
Edit-mostly positive responses, even if they disagree, which is OK bc im not a flat soda poster here...for good or bad i love the passion of the community, and im a man of my word, message on xbox and we'll run thru it ! Keep it coming guardians !

We are all guardians meaning we are a part of of a larger group. Just because I have killed crota doesn't mean my fellow guardians that have not should be left out of helping to defend the new threats that are on their way.

But when the witches were trying to awaken Crota from his realm that exists out of space and time (like the Black Garden), you interfered during the summoning and destroyed the crystal while his soul was still in it, thus trapping him in his realm for the rest of his natural life. So technically you killed Crota by destroying his soul, but since his physical form is in a realm outside of space and time, his physical embodiment survived since it exists outside of reality, thus disconnecting the two.

Not only will it not be necessary to kill Crota, the majority won't beat Oryx either

Obviously you've completed the Crota raid, as have I, but you are now pushing for a requirement that won't affect you at all, but will affect many others. Sure, from a continuity and storyline perspective, TTK follows naturally from beating the Crota raid. But for many, completing the raid would be an annoying chore after paying for a major expansion. "Wait... I just paid $80 for this, but to access the new content I have to get online, find a party who is willing to help me learn to do the raid, ..." Yeah. Worst idea ever.

I agree with you on this... At first I was thinking had to run sword as well but not everyone can do it so just beating him should be a requirement to enter new raid!

I don't think a raid should determine doing solo content. However, it could be a requirement to enter KF.

It only makes sense to have completed them, however you will run into the inevitable "I don't have enough people to raid with" argument.... Even tho crota can be solo'd in its entirety. Perhaps the next raid will be locked until the year one raids have been completed.

With the new level system going to be in place CE shouldn't be too hard for those who havent done it. Its not too much and it will prepare people for whats to come so we arent stuck with a whole bunch of people who have absolutely no idea whats going on

This would mean a whole game is locked away too unlucky friendless players.i mean you can argue that you can just come one this app and ask but. People dont always respond and no one wants to wait for 1 out of every 500 people to offer a hand. Althought its cool that your willing to help if the content was locked off you wouldnt be able to even get to the year 1ers thats still havent done it. Hell i just finished my first ever raid 2 days ago and im a day 1 player

It should be, but only the story missions. Technically you killed crotas soul. That counts. This would work for players that are like lone wolves or who CANT do the raids. A win-win situation.

The reality is that "Bungie" would never put up any sort of impediment to anyone purchasing the product. Easier and more savvy to just sell as many as possible and let the consumer twist their own experience as it were. (IMO) I personally disagree w/ the premise of your post, but absolutely applaud your willingness to help.

Modificato da Krobolus: 8/13/2015 7:00:50 AMgame is not set up to Force people to raid , there are people who play that only solo and never even group . they could add a solo instance for players to kill Crota if they really want people to beat him to make the story make sense. since we haven't seen the opening cinematic for TTK its possible that you will kill him in it so everyone will have killed him , and would be the easiest thing for Bungie to do to lol. Also , Each copy of TTK comes with one Booster that allows new, returning or current players to instantly be high enough level to start doing the TTK content (would assume it also comes with a set of gear and weapons able to start TK content also, and most lkely lets you max one Sub class out instantly ) , so I do not see Bungie forcing complete noobs to do the Raid ,, but you will have 100% noobs in your TTK fireteams :) in the words of Crow " ..Goodluck Guardians,,,,,Your going to Need it....."

You're worried about the continuity of the story in Destiny? Destiny has no story, so there really is no problem.

Don't see why it matters to be honest, making more requirements to play a game then actually paying for it seems like it would be a mistake by the publisher. Just because I have never killed crota does not mean I cant enjoy the story.
