Shoulder charge is an instant 1 hit kill on any player with a regular shield and not using the ram. It's the most powerful melee, and yes it is a melee, as the game counts it as such. It takes about 2 seconds to get and you can have it whenever you want. It lunges and it WILL kill you. I propose that it either be removed or made into a 2 hit kill, one hit acceptable with Peregrine Greaves.
EDIT: People need to stop saying "shotgun can counter it." Yeah, but I shouldn't need a shotgun to escape a melee. The point is it's a one hit kill melee that "recharges" every 2 seconds when you sprint.
EDIT 2: Idiotic Titans defending their OP melee by saying I blink shotgun. I don't even use blink lol.
EDIT 3: Blink has literally nothing to do with this topic. But keep denying the truth.
EDIT 4: To anyone who thinks grimoire/character level/KD means anything, the Hunter is 34, I'm upgrading armor for him, the Warlock is missing the boots, and I barely play the Titan. I don't even have to explain why grimoire means nothing. KD also means nothing.
EDIT 4: To anyone who thinks grimoire/character level/KD means anything, the Hunter is 34, I'm upgrading armor for him, the Warlock is missing the boots, and I barely play the Titan. I don't even have to explain why grimoire means nothing. KD also means nothing.
So what numbers do we use to estimate your experience in the game?? Also shoulder charge isn't that strong I don't even use IF I play striker over defender. You have no weapons when you are charging it, you can easily get killed by last word or thorn. You clearly don't play a striker Titan. They are pretty weak in PvP. We have lightning grenades and the almost useless shoulder charge. Make a Titan and try shoulder charge, then tell me it's OP.
BTW the striker class is suppose to be the class where you pummel opponents with your fists, "at close quarters a fist is better than any gun"
I think I remember dodging a Shoulder Charge just by strafing. Either that guy had a shit aim, or strafing is a good counter play.
Just kidding. That was pure luck and happened exactly once.
It's balanced. If there were to be a future nerf to the ability then I'd say it'd be to it's aim assist. Right now you can destroy a player that's on the corner of your screen or in the air. However, if this were to very nerfed then I'd expect the Arc Blade of the Blade Dancer to be nerfed in aim assist as well. I've used mine on players that were miles in the air while I'm on the ground and I'll just swipe myself in the air from the ground and take them out.

I like to just run around in control doing nothing but shoulder charges good time
-
Dude im with you... not really i main a hunter (both sub classes) but just recently finally maxed out my striker titan. And i have to agree to disagree it is a one hit kill but it is in no way invicible... i raged like no ones business when i come soooooo close to hitting someone then die. So one shot yes, op no. On another note i would love to see hunter flaming throwing knifes be a one shot( with dot, not without.) Lord ouuuut!
-
It's all fun an games until it's buckshot to the face
-
2 hit kill but increases melee attack speed briefly? And warlocks and can survive it with "The Ram" equipped. Think about how much you hate this attack and how OP you believe to be, now...theres something that boosts the paper thin armor on warlocks to survive it.
-
It would've been more balanced if the shoulder charge was in the defender class, since the bubble doesn't really add to your kills like other abilities.
-
6 RisposteQuite a bit of kell hunter gear but that's not any of my business
-
How many people do you see running around constantly using shoulder charge per game?
i already know the answer
-
Rolling my eyes. Current Striker Titan is the weakest PvP class, maybe aside from Gunslinger hunter. And that's a big maybe.
-
Yeah it should be. It requires a perk. There's a small window of time where it can be activated. Small margin of error and you will be gunned down. Fair amount of cool down involved. So yeah it deserves to be one hit.
-
Level up your Titan and trying shoulder charging people. You'll see that it's pretty damn hard. I was in the same boat as you until I leveled mine up. And besides... Bladedancer’s have Backstab which does EVEN MORE damage and glitches out A LOT so you don't even have to be behind them
-
I even self ressurect just to get killed by it.
-
Maybe if you actually used your titan, you would understand that it really isn't op. At one time it was, but now with high impact shotguns, sidearms, the ram helmet, the last word, etc. all crush it.
-
Its a little thing called timing when he's charging aim for the head with a shotgun dead. Shoulder charge is not op. You deserve to get hit by it don't stay in one place you tard.
-
Coming from someone who doesn't use it of course. If you think it's so OP, you are welcome to try it out and get blasted in the face by any decent players. Titans suck in crucible.

4 RisposteModificato da Charlemagne: 8/13/2015 1:28:06 AMI'm moving this into Feedback. I used to think that too, but it only ever gets me when I'm caught off guard from a different fight or I somehow don't see it coming. In those cases, one or two ordinary melees would have taken me out as well. If you see an enemy Titan coming at you, you can usually take them out before they get the chance. I've always seen it as a Titan's way of balancing out not having Blink. My only qualm with it is that it's auto-lock on is a bit strong. You should be able to jump out of the way.
-
Shoulder Charge is NOT OP. It makes up for the VERY weak Titan melee. I've got about 4,000 PvP kills on my Titan and about 15,000 kills on my other two. I thought shoulder charge was OP until I started using it.. It's tough. If someone can kill me with shoulder charge, they've earned it.
-
If anything they should apply it to be a two hit from the front and 1 hit if you get them in the back or something like that
-
lol shoulda charge is fuming gay as aids , and is the Easiest counter , I've dogged so many before , half the time I see someone shoulda charge the air and I turn around and boom headshot

Modificato da BlampsterBoy: 8/13/2015 2:12:26 AMSeriously, this is what you wanna whine about?!? There are way better things to be a scrub about. There are ways to combat it people!!! :0 Just freakin' run away and pull out your shotgun. I know it's a revolutionary thought but trust me, it really works. Sheesh!!! Besides the chance a Titan has of beating a warlock in a melee battle (maybe even a hunter) are so much smaller without shoulder charge. Even then it misses half the time so that it's almost a guarantee that you'll die if u don't land the charge.
-
Just remember that running away can help too. Also, if you make it a 2 hit kill, it will render it pointless. I do not want that to happen. How many nerfs were called out on Destiny already? They give us what we want and we ask for even more. We sound like spoiled brats.
-
Besides shoulder charge when does a titan ever kill you with melee. Warlocks have ranged melee and hunters have blink strike. It balances out in the end. Shoulder charge is basically a shotgun, it can be killed by a shotgun and is optimal at close range. It is easy to counter when you can see it coming. If you replace every shoulder charge that has hit you with a shotgun with shot package or a warlock/Hunter who came up behind you and melee'd you twice. It would have the exact same result. You whining on the forums about balance when you don't even play all 3 characters on a regular basis. So therefore your conclusion is biased to your needs and is therefore invalid.
-
Hunters and warlocks have a ranged melee. Titans have the least range on their melee. Therefore they get an optional 1 hit melee that needs charging up and has a cooldown. Cry me a river and use a titan u scrub.

You basically said at the end of edit 4. I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain...
