Here lately, there is a lot of talk about the Hopscotch Pilgrim pulse rifle. What I would like to know, is why is it considered to be better than the messenger or the Spare Change? The Spare Change can be re-rolled, but other than that, they are nearly identical. What am I missing? Why is one considered to be better than the other?

It's better than Spare Change but the debate comes down the preference when it compares to Messenger. Really though I wouldn't grind anymore if I was you because they are leaving all legendaries behind.
-
I have been grinding non stop for the hopscotch and haven't seen one person get it out of 50 strikes or more. I did see one guy get the dry rot shotgun though. With that said, I rolled an all fate 55 with feeding frenzy, braced frame and head seeker. I'll give it a shot and see how that goes. Going good to buy another one and roll it for feeding frenzy, braced frame and reactive reload. Maybe I'll like one of them betrer?

Modificato da DopeyPanda: 8/5/2015 9:19:12 PMPlanet destiny did a video on this. The reason spare change is not the best, besides its near identicall stats, is its horizontal recoil while the hopscotch has vertical. Edit: As for the messenger, hopscotch just about beats it in every stat.

Modificato da iZerood: 8/5/2015 9:13:36 PMTime on Target w reactive reload and headseeker. Not as high stability as HP or messenger but when both HS and RR engage it does a lot of damage. Love it. On my warlock But I also love the 55A. It's a laser and I don't even have my stability maxed yet.

9 RisposteWhy not mention the 555-Allfate, definitely better thsn spare change, and i do just as good with it as i do with the hopscoth and its easier to get.

Here it is. Explained in full.

4 Risposte
Here lately, there is a lot of talk about the Hopscotch Pilgrim pulse rifle. What I would like to know, is why is it considered to be better than the messenger or the Spare Change? Why is one considered to be better than the other?
The Messenger is locked into its perk set, and actually the only stat that the Messenger has that is better than the Hopscotch Pilgrim is its range, the Pilgrim beats or ties with the Messenger in every other category, including Aim Assistance. The Spare Change.25 has a distinct recoil pattern that jerks the pulse to the left, making it hard to hit a full burst in the head. Hopscotch Pilgrim doesn't have this, and without max stability still pretty much has no recoil, the little it does have is slightly up. Outlaw/Reactive Reload/Max Stability HP for life!

Modificato da Mgamer GHz: 8/4/2015 7:41:33 PMskorries Revenge with headseeker and third eye FTW.

It's got better stats than messenger in general except for range. It can be rebelled also. I would recommend a reload perk like freeding frenzy and reactive reload. It does 51 crit with reactive reload. I recommend checking out planet destiny's youtube for a VERY GOOD review. He explains alot in the review

3 RisposteHigh stability to reduce the spread of the bullets, enough impact to kill. The rate of fire is also faster than Spare Change
-
12 RisposteOnly one you need for crucible is Echo 33. It's crazy good. Full auto, max stability. Yea it's only a rare but it's impact and range are just as good as Pilgrims.
-
It's just that class of pulse rifles that's v good, the high impact, low rate of fire. The hopscotch pilgrim and the spare change are excellent IF you can calmly and accurately place bursts under fire.
-
I'm not too sure either. ~TheGreatNike

Best pulse rifle 1. Messenger 2.hopscotch pilgrim 2.spare change
-
1 RispondiRecoil on spare change is terrible
-
Don't have hopscotch or messenger :-( but the time piece is pretty good
-
10 RisposteMy spare change is just fine. It has counter balance outlaw and almost maxout stability... i still prefer praedyths timepeace
-
Hopscotch is my go to PVP weapon especially on a more ranged map. The recoil is almost nonexistent. Add that on top of the two burst headshot and rerolling and it is just a monster. Spare change has nowhere near as much stability and messenger does not have rerolling.
-
Messenger and spare change both have non vertical recoil patterns, hopscotch has the tiniest bit of vertical recoil.
-
4 RisposteI love the messenger, probably my most used gun these days, used to be mida only. I'd love a hopscotch to reroll it, but I seriously cannot be arsed to do what could be a huge number of strikes for one.
-
Modificato da UberLord Parker: 8/4/2015 4:40:59 PMSpare Change's recoil pulls up and left... not what you want in a Pulse Rifle. It'll do... if you don't have Three Little Words, Hopscotch, or the Messenger... but you'll get outgunned by one of these more often than not. The Messenger and Messenger Adept are GREAT... but you can't reforge them. The Adept version has an Elemental Damage type for PvE/PoE... that's the only real advantage the Adept has over the others. Hopscotch has great base stats, a good sized magazine, a perfectly vertical recoil pattern, and it can be reforged with whatever perks suit your style of play... The only must have perks are stability perks: Small Bore (long range) or Braced Frame (mid range).

Hopscotch pilgrim is a great gun. As are the others you named and red death. That IB one is okay to, impact is a little low though. I just happened to roll red dot/sureshot is, third eye, braced frame and hidden hand on my hopscotch and i love it! :) the stability is maxed, its like a laser that hits very hard! Two burst kill with hidden hand, it is actually harder to miss! Lol

1 RispondiNothing at all. Its just another Destiny bandwagon weapon
-
13 RisposteThe spare change is god awful because of its recoil pattern and even with every stability perk in the available it is awful. It kicks up and to the left at a 45 degree angle and doesn't re center itself at all practically. If you stood still didn't adjust it and fired you could literally do a circle if you fire enough times. The messenger cannot achieve maximum stability which is why the hopscotch is better. Here is a list why it's better 1. it's rerollable 2. It has a higher base stability and just a small amount less range 3. It has a larger base magazine than both of the other two base magazines. 4. It has a higher aim assist than the messenger, tied with spare change. 5. It can reach maximum stability when rolled right but still have a great range. 6. With reactive reload you can two burst to the body and kill. I can go on.

Modificato da WhoAteMyFunDip: 8/4/2015 4:22:30 PMI dunno, been trying them all out and I still prefer the Red Death. Hopscotch is like a laser beam, though. And, it hits much harder than it feels like it should -- if that even makes sense.
