Should I buy witcher 3?
It looks pretty interesting but I want to see if people that have bought it enjoy their purchase

Meh. Apparently it's supposed to be the best game ever. Meanwhile, I'm still venturing through Xenoblade Chronicles.

50 RisposteI'm about two hours in. Here are my thoughts, in no particular order. *The combat system sucks. Unlike a game like AC: Unity or the Batman games where there's a "flow" to the combat, W3 feels clumsy and subpar. You will find yourself trying to peel an enemy off from the group to get in a few hits before retreating, rinsing, and repeating. It gets very tedious very quickly. *It's been said that you don't need to have played the other two Witcher games for immersion in W3. [i]This is absolutely not true.[/i] As a newcomer to the series, the characters, world, and overall lore of the world is a mystery they don't delve into much, if at all. So far at least. *The crafting system seems to also be geared towards players of the previous two games. *The graphics are great *I appreciate the T&A, along with the gore and "fatality" type kills. I'm a grown man who likes a little blood and ass in his entertainment. Witcher 3 is a great looking game...but I should have bought Batman instead.

I watched my brother play it and it didn't look very interesting. Plus it came out at like the worst time possible.

So, it's good, but that's it. The story seems like it would be great, but I stopped playing after about 30 hours. All the side quests feel unique except the hunting missions, they're all pretty similar but kinda unique, it's just- find what monster is- barter- find monster- get it out of hiding- kill it. The combat is very fluid, some people who've never played a witcher before call it clunky but no, it requires finesse and not just button spam like batman or assassins creed. The progression is dreadfully slow, you can get tons of perks, but only enough room for like 1 per 2 levels, so you'll always have extra perks you don't use. 8/10, it was good, I should finish it, but nah.

Never played a Witcher game. I really like playing and getting into the worlds lore in the Witcher 3. I espcially love the hunts and the combat mechanics as each encounter can be challenging.

Now the game is defiantly worth buying. It's insanely fun, I'm just waiting for them to balance enemies because the highest is 42 I think. And I'm 60 so It's kinda boring not having an equal foe to fight.

Yes. It has a bit of a learning curve to it and you should watch a quick recap of witcher 1 and 2. But once you get the hang of the game and you figure out your fighting style, the game is amazing. The game is funny, romantic, cheerful, and dark all at the same time.

My wife bought it for me for our anniversary and I have loved every second. The controls and combat system are a little overwhelming at first, but practice and give it time and you will come to love it. Unlike games like Assassin's Creed, Batman, or Spider Man (where you can stand in the middle of the horde in all combat situations and win every fight by spamming the dodge and counterattack buttons), Witcher 3 gives combat a proper challenge. Enemies have stamina, and are capable of blocking or counterattacking your strikes. You also have signs, grenades, crossbows, potions, oils, and consumables to give you an edge in combat. Monsters have entries in the Glossary, allowing you to learn about them and their weaknesses. The characters have such intricate personalities that you genuinely care about them. Unlike other games where characters are just tossed in wildly (leaving you to wonder why the hell they matter), I felt real emotion a few times throughout the Witcher. When Character A leaves, or Character B dies, or Character C decides they no longer like or trust you, it genuinely makes you care how they act / react (tried to give an example without spoilers). The story is well-thought out. The world is immersive. Choices you make have both immediate and far-off consequences. And the developers have 16 DLC packs that they plan to release COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE, simply to say "thanks for spending your hard earned money on our game." Also, gwent is one of the most fun and addicting mini-games I have ever seen. Buy it. It's worth every dime, in my opinion. [spoiler]I've always been a big fan of the Witcher franchise, and this one in my opinion is better than both previous titles combined.[/spoiler]

I was annoyed about long loading times my inability to regain health for long battles and missions and it only allowing me to save before a long annoying cut scene

4 RisposteIt has poor combat and an archaic menu system that will eventually hold close to a thousand items. There are some glitches, the magic and abilities aren't that fun to use, the character skins are repeated (unforgivable for AAA) and there will be a ton of characters you won't know. I still really liked the game. If you like stories, there are hours and hours if cut scenes.

I'd recommend it highly even if you didn't play the other games or read the novels.

It is your money so I cant tell you what to do with it but, I can say you will likely get your monies worth, but do not expect great combat mechanics.
