What's this MTU thing I'm hearing about now???
I can't keep up with all this kind of stuff but could someone with some greater knowledge on this please explain it a bit to me.... If it's cheating again I'm not running IB this time around lol
Edit: thanks for the info guys and sorry we have to deal with this crap.. Witcher 3 seems to be calling my name again lol

4 RisposteModificato da OMEGA-MONKEY1: 7/30/2015 9:02:57 AMMTU stands for maximum transmission unit.. a numerical representation of the amount of data able to be transmitted per packet of data this value is generally set by your isp and can vary somewhat in the range depending on your type of connection and what settings your provider uses ect for example my type of connection is pppoe and the MTU value is native 1492 bytes.. The ps4 has a network settings feature that allows the user to change the MTU value from the native 1500 bytes (assuming ps use global settings) to whatever the user wants.. Problem: if said user where to alter the mtu packet size to say the value of -X- it allegedly causes that player to gain god like powers at -Y- you are unable to see other players but able to capture points and at -Z- you will encounter 1/3 enemy players and take no dmg but able to dmg them and lastly if a team had all altered their values in ToO you they are basically able to clean sweep a 9-0.. According to the forums this issue only occurs on ps4 as i believe Xbox1 doesn't have this feature.. Personally i have no clue as to the credibility of this so called cheat and frankly i think its nothing more then a elaborate hoax fueled by whiny butthurts who will stop at nothing to excuse their own short comings... That said however if there is an issue with network tampering that player deserves to have the ban hammer brought down on them however i am doubtful that this "MTU" cheat is likely the network tampering that is actually happening..

People are trying to get attention brought to lag/cheaters. A guy posted a "how to" thread a few days ago & it's gotten pretty big.

4 RisposteBungie's stupid network coding favors laggy players Anyone can be laggy by reducing the mtu setting on their console or router Bungie needs to fix their code to not favor lag In order to force Bungie into action, mtu setting information was public broadcasted We are now waiting for either a fix from Bungie, or for crucible to burn down
