I'd be horribly disappointed if all we can choose from are these 3 manufacturers.
It should be upwards of 6-8 and beyond. Even if they were small and only specialized in certain weapon classes with unique perks.
Hell, Crux Lomar makes rockets. Why not branch out like that?
Not to mention they have different firing sounds and a unique feel feel. I wouldn't be able to stand an energy cell loaded hand cannon making a *bang*.
Take a page from some Borderlands weapons manufacturers/Legendaries or Pearls if you must, just don't miss this opportunity.

Who said there were more? Knowing the PR stunts that Bungie have pulled in the past with this game, I wouldn't hold my breath until I see it on launch day. I'm cynical, but hopeful. Let's leave it at that.

It said in the weekly that factions would have their own guns, as well as classes. Don't forget what you read, or if you didn't read it you probably should

And pre-release trailers said we would visit Saturn. How'd that end up? Until release, I dont trust a word from Bungie, though I am hopeful they will keep their promises this time around. Im not letting hype and empty promises fool me a third time.

Sounds familiar. Remember the pre-launch trailers that promised all that content? You know, that was and IS being sold to us separately TTK included? I'll keep my cynicism up until a bit after launch, and then I'll see. But until I see a definite number of companies, I won't assume there will be more. Not with this game.

There are already three city factions and three confirmed weapon foundries.

Speculation. What makes you think the city factions will be as unique as the manufacturers? Nothing. Hopeful optimism doesn't double as evidence. That's the kind of rumor that overhyped this game in the first place, and I won't make the same mistake.

Go to the tower right now. They all have their own types of guns.

The only difference is a paint job. They share perks with each other, and the only difference between them is archetype within their class. That doesn't make them any more unique than the Vanguard, Crucible, or random drops you can get otherwise. They don't operate in a unique way as these 3 new manufacturers "promise" to.

I understand what you mean, but it comes off as deaf to the manner that these companies advertise to the public. Take a step back, stop defending the game and think: Why put more effort, if we can advertise/speak a certain way, build hype, and make a bigger profit from people that speculate there to be more content than revealed? You owe it to yourself as a consumer to be critical and cynical of these companies. All the evidence you've presented from speculation, or dodgy wording by Bungie. Until its confirmed, and there is no weaseling out on Bungie's part, I won't expect much more than the minimum amount of content. This is Destiny we're talking about here. The ENTIRE game was a PR/Marketing stunt when it comes to content. The issue is, I enjoy the game, but don't want to be fooled again. If they do provide content, great, more for me to enjoy. But if that's not the case, I won't be a mindless sheep buying it because it looks new and shiny. Not anymore.
