My girlfriend plays destiny with me and we've run into situations where guys are a bit "thirsty" or whatever the term for desperate loser is. It doesn't bother me too much, but shouldn't happen. I'll readily admit she's better than me at destiny (7 Gjallarhorns for one), and she shouldn't have to take shit from other guys because she's a girl. The root of this problem is not with the gaming community specifically, but society's attitudes towards females.

OP is trying too hard with this post. He's most likely THAT guy in every group of friends. Who is really close with all the females, but not "close" with any of them. By "sticking up" for the "girl gamers" you're just as bad as those trying to harass them. Only, instead of belittling them, you're treating them differently by holding them to a higher standard, by white knighting. Let me tell you a little story kiddo.
