Why do people donate to streamers?
Find it really odd, give to a charity instead!
People moan about game prices/dlc and yep they're fine with donating money to someone who will forgot you in an Instant.
Streamers are expecting donations now because of this.
You think they'll remember who you are when you donate?
They're sponging off people to earn a living.
If anyone has actually donated before please share as to why and how much!

I bet the majority of people who donate wouldn't give to the homeless either.

6 RisposteI only donate a maximum of $5 and only to ShadyPenguinn as he is my favorite youtuber and it helps him grow his content the only times I do donate is when I have a couple of bucks to spare and I do give to homeless if I have the cash or change on me my girlfriend even gives food in a little care package along with tooth brushes and other needed things

5 RisposteUnless u often donate to charities, you're bring very hypocritical. Why do people care about how other spend money? It has no effect on you whether they donate to a streamer or if the person buys a cheeseburger. If donating to a streamer makes them happy. Then let them. It's not hurting you whatsoever.

Theres a lot of reasons, the person who donates like what the streamer is doing and wants to see more, the streamer could be doing an extra life stream, that streamer could have helped someone through a rough time(i know watching roosterteeth/achievement hunter videos got me through tough times) and there are other reasons.

It comes down to entertainment value in my opinion. The donation is no different than paying for any other form of entertainment. I have not done it because I've yet find an entertaining streamer, and I always end up playing the game instead. But if I stumble accross a good entertainer I would want to support them to continue to see their content. I'd say you find it difficult to understand because you don't see the entertainment value in the content, same as I don't understand professional baseball players making such massive paychecks (PewDiePie is giving them a run for their money, good on him), I don't see the entertainment value in that.

Well if you think about it, streaming is form of entertainment, entertainment can be a way to make money. I see no harm in it, apparently there is a demand for streamers thus people donate to the better ones.
