I will be 45 in a couple of months.
I have gotten so old that I make friends with kids and people talk to them about the dangers of spending time with older people.
Then my kid friends say I scare them when I join there games.
So I delete them.
I have also comes across more then a few kids who say your a old man what are you doing playing games?.
This type of treatment really makes me think twice.
Should I act my age and do what old people do what ever that is.
I have been playing games before consoles was invented.
I still love my games with a passion.
The people who I play with are offended when they get to know me how old I am and that makes me sad.
So should I hang up my gaming boots?
Edit:
I just joined Scaret Eagle Clan its a older persons Group for Xbox One.
I guess this forum post is no longer needed.
Bye

43 here and just started playing again a few months ago. Who cares what the kiddies think!
-
I'm a year older than the OP and quite happy to be where I am in life aa well as in Destiny where by bad knees don't slow me down one bit. I think age might make me less bothered about the lack of a gally, not beating Skolas, Thorn doesn't worry me and my low Grimoire is just fine as it is.
-
My group consist of a 17 year old, two 19 year olds, me (20), I think a 24 year old, a couple in their 30s and the homie narc who is almost 45
-
36 here and I demand you keep playing lol. Check out teh Dads of Destiny group. Lots of older 30+ guys there that play together.

I'm a few years behind you dude and I'll never give up gaming as it's something I enjoy doing whether it's on my own or with my kiddies. There is not an age limit to gaming so if you enjoy it then keep doing it. We are the original gamers so don't take any grief from these noobs! lol Good Vibes Always Dude & Happy Gaming

44 and still love games . Should be an expert but I'm not .. Good way to chill and escape

3 RisposteNever quit what you love. Unless it's illegal

2 RisposteThe older gamers should be looked up to by the younger generations. Unfortunately, we live in a world where age is no longer respected. Keep on truckin gramps!

I'm 77 years old!!!!

Your kind of awkward judging by the way you write things. Perhaps you creep people out more with your personality, not your age.
-
Nice to know my 41 year old but isn't alone. I'm on xbone same gt if any of you guys need help or new friends

Modificato da WhoAteMyFunDip: 7/8/2015 8:49:19 PMPeople of all ages should game if that's what makes them happy. HOWEVER, your friends list should mirror your friends "list" in real life. Would you hang out with a 16 year old at your house? Then don't do it in a game. It's weird, it's creepy and an adult SHOULD know better.

1 RispondiIt shouldn't really matter what your age is as long as you're not an asshat. Rule #1: don't break rule #2 Rule #2: don't be an asshat
-
No, screw that. Play if you want to play because there is no law or rule that says someone over the age of "...." is allowed to play video games. You're not obligated to tell anyone your age either. If they don't like it then too bad. One thing to consider is that all of those young kids WILL be playing video games when they become "old."

3 RisposteAs long as your consoles not in a van full of candy...

1 RispondiI just turn 51 and I enjoy playing Destiny all the time. I just wished I could play better.

Sir, if you enjoy it do it. These games arent hurting anyone and if some 12 year old crybaby gets offended because you can keep up with him take pride in that don't get upset. I am 22 and i find it great that you, and other adults, continue to play. Hell your generation pioneered many of the modern day games we have now. So tell the kids to man up, or woman up but i assume many chicks wouldn't complain about this, and deal with it. Its not "creepy" for someone older to play games. Thats like saying it is unacceptable for parents to watch disney movie because they are too old. Pure ridiculousness when parents end up watching that with their kids anyway. So if you want to find older gamers i understand but i know personally, along with many of the guys i play with, wouldn't care one bit if you were older and playing with us.

I'm 39 & have been playing since the days of arcades. Anyway, don't game with kids if they make you uncomfortable or adults for that matter. I've blocked more adolescent adults than anyone else.
-
Sure why not.

I'm 32 and my husband is 41. I have a very helpful gentleman on my friends list who is in his 50s and he is awesome. Screw what the mean little shits say and do your thing man!

Some (not all) of the younger generation of gamers in today's society feel like games are not meant for adults. I have been playing games since the age of 5, I just turned 30 this year. I love games in all their forms (digital or analog and everything in between) so much that I went to school and graduated with a degree in Game Design. If something makes you happy, why should you be turned off of it because someone believes you shouldn't play? That is just their opinion. If I was playing on the Xbox One friend, I would proudly add and play alongside of you. I enjoy talking about games and life experiences as I play, I view it as a chance to make friends I normally would never get the chance to. Some (again not all) of today's youth have just not been shown to respect others. Either that, or they just feel entitled because someone in their life never told them no and now they feel like respect should only be given to themselves while showing none in return. Keep on playing Guardian, and may your bullets always find their mark.
