Should old men play Destiny?
I will be 45 in a couple of months.
I have gotten so old that I make friends with kids and people talk to them about the dangers of spending time with older people.
Then my kid friends say I scare them when I join there games.
So I delete them.
I have also comes across more then a few kids who say your a old man what are you doing playing games?.
This type of treatment really makes me think twice.
Should I act my age and do what old people do what ever that is.
I have been playing games before consoles was invented.
I still love my games with a passion.
The people who I play with are offended when they get to know me how old I am and that makes me sad.
So should I hang up my gaming boots?

I just joined Scaret Eagle Clan its a older persons Group for Xbox One.

Turned 40 this year. Just play with closer to your age and have a good time. I don't play with kids just because of the age difference. I don't need some mom accusing me of anything. It's the same reason parents don't spend any time as the only adult in the locker room on my kids hockey team. Glad to see you found a clan.

I am 39. Most of the guys I play with are anywhere between 33 and 50. I have found in my experience the younger ones can be a pain. If I join a group on the forums and they sound like they think girls have cooties I back out. I would rather play with people at least close to my age.

1 RispondiAnyone of age is entitled to play as long as they're old enough to play that specific game, of course. Always get your mothers permission.

Don't know if you still monitor this thread since it was edited over a month ago, but I'm 30, my gf is 29, and we both game daily. One of my long time gamer friends is in his 40s and I play with his dad! No shame in being awesome at a later age. Kids these days suck, don't worry if they think you're odd for playing games. I was born the same year as SMB, gamer for life! Teaching my young daughters, as well!

Could not give a crap on so called age limit to play, we have seen 8 bit to HD games, what we do in our spare time is up to us, as it is any generation, just roll with older players or solo, a game is game and if you fancy letting off steam, do so; I wouldn't let the comments of younger folk bother you, and ask them when they think they will stop playing..Whoa! My false eye just dropped out!

Now in a home, the elders play chess and cardgames. When we are old enough to get to a home, we are all playing lan games. Its evolution Dont worry cause gaming is from us, the people that grew up with pong, tetris, sonic , mario, duck hunt. We own the game. The young ones only know cod, there a waste of our precious air

36 and have 12 yr olds taking me through skolas. My advice is to continue and embrace your age. Criticize the way they talk, lecture them about right and wrong, give them sage advice and remind them just how good they have it. These children are starving for male role models and the filter of Destiny let's them have us without feeling like they are being lame. I enjoy schooling these kids and giving them the post high school perspective.

2 RisposteIve been playing games ever since pong came out. So you guess how old I am. I guess we play with more caution to the wind than all guns blazing bravado style play. My daughter played for a while with that style then gave up after it didn't work in the long run LOL. I have found that the younger generation like us to play this way as it lets us save their lives more often. (altho some just do not listen ). If you like playing games then carry on playing them. It also keeps you brain ticking over
