No, it's bungies fault. This game was developed on and for last gen consoles. It changed of course when the new stuff was ready to drop. They are trying to deflect the blame for their own incompetence.

I've read a big part of the comments on this post, and I'm just trying to understand why it is so difficult to have a healthy debate without name calling. What is up with this trend where instead of a fluctuent conversation there's a contest of "yo mama is so and so... " , every other comment on this forum. I mean is this how people blow steem nowadays or what? Regardless, the difference between a man and a child ( mentally not literally ) is in the way he/she chooses to express themselves. That being said: 1. Everything regarding our existence is about EVOLUTION. Otherwise we'd still be just another type of monkey. Not trying to insult the monkeys here. ( in reference to old vs new gen ) 2. A bussines is ( spolier alert ) about making money. Now, you can point fingers at them all day long, the fact of the matter is they advertised and we bought, end of story. Hopefully lessons will be learned for the future. ( in reference to " OMG I got ripped off ") 3. If one can afford buying any X video game at any X value, one can most certainly afford to put aside any minimal amount of value a day, a week, a month toward purchasing the newer better version of the device that is used for one's ENTERTAINMENT FIX . So than, why would anyone choose to play video games if they can't afford to put food on their table, and so on...? Makes no sense. ( in reference to complaints about not being able to afford so and so... ) 4. It is indeed a fact that there are differences between old and new gen consoles. ( in reference to op ) 5. It is also a fact that any X company tryes to manipulate the user base to how it better serves said company. ( the grown up audience should be so much more aware of this ) 6. Logically, production on a game like Destiny had to start on old gen consoles, yes. Maybe the engine on a game like Skyrim is different from the one on Destiny. ( in reference to " but this game and that game blah blah " ... No duh Sherlock, where in Destiny does it say Skyrim ? ) 7. Ultimately no one makes anyone do anything they don't want to, legally, in western civilization at least. If one takes time posting on a forum as such, one definetly enjoyed one way or another the form of entertainment something like Destiny offers. Lackluster? Sure! Over hyped ? Obviously! Name calling ? WHY? I'm having fun playing. I'll invest until I feel it works for my entertainment needs. Yes HOW, and ultimately Destiny 2 will set the future for this franchise. But most importantly, this community needs to grow up and fast, otherwise we'll never get the game we where promised we would with stuff like non sense gun Nerf complaint posts and the likes, non sense console "wars" or gen "wars" and the likes, etc., etc., etc..... If one can't get with the flow one should not, but don't stay in everyone else's way by doing so. Period. End of rant.

Actually it's BUNGIE's inability to launch a BIG title on PC, that makes this game suck. The reality of the hardware issue is apparent, but the Xbox one and ps4 are still just children's toys. The overall incentive to upgrade isn't there because of lacking titles, and the price-point on the new gen is $50 too high. Not to mention both units are already offering a GPU that's nearly 3 year old tech without substantial improvement in quality of picture without a 4K TV display. The $350 price to me is a lot to pay for a memory upgrade in a market where memory in general is extremely affordable.
