Kids are too good
I would like to thank the everyone who made and play Destiny for such a great gaming experience! I'm 42 years old, and use it to connect with m16 year old son. But my problem is that I can't compete with the young players out there who's skill and coordination far exceeds my own. How does a father earn Crucible marks, or even do a Vault of Glass or Crota's End for the first time because I have no friends on PS4, and the kids wipe me in any Crucible? Any suggestions?

I'm an older player as well. It's just practice, that's all. I can relate, there are definitely some mutants out there. I had to make friends to play VoG and Crota raids. When i started Destiny I had maybe 3 or 4 friends on PSN, now i have over 80. Just hit the forums, join a few groups. You'll be there in no time

3 RisposteI too play this game with my sons on multiple PS4s. We don't enjoy PvP because it isn't something we can play together. Raids are out as having to go to third party websites to add to the group is inconvenient and no fun. We haven't found other people that we can match their times to play regularly. So we're left on the outside looking in at a lot of the game. I'm hoping there are some change coming to help with group building, or at least an option for some rudimentary matchmaking for raids. My boys have started to grow bored with the game, mostly from frustration. We can get level 31s, but without raid support 32 is unattainable. Inability to share means I get resources they need, but I can't get it to them. They look at me like I have failed them somehow. We're looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront. We're hoping it will be all that we're missing in Destiny.

You may not 'win' many games in a 6 person free for all, but by taking your time and learning the maps as well as how to best engage players in the much more frequent moments of 1v1 you can slowly get better. As opposed to the other PvP modes where you're constantly in 1v2, 3v5 etc encounters. The games are also shorter, Between 4 and 5 minutes id say. Which means more marks in less time, even if you're doing poorly. I'm a 27 year old gamer, heavy into PC shooters but until Destiny I hadn't used a controller to play a shooter since goldeneye on the N64. It took me a long time to get good at PvP in destiny, but it can be done. Also, if you ever need raid help, you might consider looking for streamers who offer raid runs with viewers. Rather than scouring, the LFG website, these players tend to be more accommodating and helpful about teaching you how to run the raid so you can do it yourself. I'm trying to start hosting a stream myself, you can follow me at twitch.tv/aetherics and I'd be more than happy to help you and your son learn the raid content.

I'm part of a clan called deathdealers DNA (douchebags not allowed) and we are just casual players who help each other out on ps4. We have guys who are 42, 35 , 17 etc. You're welcome to join and play with us if you like, we can get VoG or Crota done with you :)

I had a blast doing vault, it's unlike any mission, strike, weekly, or nightfall. If you like doing those you are going to love the raid. It's a lot of teamwork and mic is really good to have especially the 1st time you run it so it's good you got one. luckily I had a great group walk me through it, I use destinylfg.net and destinylfg.com for finding groups for raid ( and nightfall ) and it's worked out great so far. And the raid loot is very rewarding too! I got an automatic scout rifle that does solar damage second time I ran vault, it was great to use in this week's nightfall! -a 33 year old gamer

1 RispondiComing from a 40 year old gamer... You need to be the sneaky old guy in the crucible. It would help if you had played pvp games the past 20 years though. Take frequent naps too... Never pick a fight with an old man, he might get tired and just kill you...

Some of the kids that play this game had ''idols'' that are over 30 years old and today you know what , they just beat the -blam!- out of these '' pros '' just because they learned from them man Kids grow fast , and learn fast :) you know it bishop ^^ Now the best way for you to find people to do raids , is getting a clan with people you can have fun. I would invite you as we are a lot of daddys but we speak french unfotunately :P For the crucible marks... well i guess you gotta still practice hahah <3 from another dad :P good luck and peace man !

4 Risposte39 opinions. PvP is seriously unbalanced in this game. I normally only go in for marks and bounties only, and generally don't care. You are rewarded the same no matter what, and not worth the stress. Battlefield 4 is my PvP game. PvE on the other hand once you play a few times you will learn the maps, and distance is your friend. I normally run with MIDA and play the close to mid range, reviving as needed. Get caught in a mob jump+frag to evade. Learn to try and stay aware of what is around you, and not get tunnel vision.
