Dear Bungie,
The past year has been a very difficult year for me. Your game, Destiny, has relieved me of most of my stress. Over the last 7 years or so, my father has had an incurable type of Cancer called Multiple Myeloma (Cancer of the blood plasma.) The last couple months have been the worst so far. He has had broken bones (from the cancer) and gets sick very easily. He has just traveled down to Bethesda, Maryland for a clinical trial. It didn't help.
To add on to my crazy life story, my house was destroyed last February (today is the one year anniversary.) There is a thing called a Puff Back. It is when your oil furnace malfunctions and sends a toxic soot through your home. I lost all my belongings. Our house had to be torn down to the studs. We live in a small winterized cottage on the shoreline of Connecticut. We literally got in our house a week ago.
So you may be asking why it relieved me of my stress? Going upstairs for hours a day, just to talk to people, laugh and get angry when a 26 gets an exotic from Iron banner when they aren't even playing just gets me away from reality. It lets me be free in the worlds that lye right in front of us.
I want to bring up other players stories that are so sad I just can't mention them in description very well. Oh god I'm getting tears in my eyes. People have many problems in their lives, some more than others, though going through this year of craziness, I've learns one thing, just put one foot in front of the other and keep on going.
I just want to thank you for what you have done for me. It helps me a lot inside. I know most of you will call me all types of things. You don't understand how much it hurts inside me, every day.
Thank you,
Jugernaut14

1 RispondiWow...there are a lot of people below who are insensitive pricks... Sorry about your dad...and your house...hope 2015 treats you and yours a bit better.

Remember you can always donate to your local cancer center! It will support many people. A not very fun fact - 1 in 3 people will get cancer in their life.
-
15 RisposteIt took you a year to move into a small winterized cabin? No homeowners insurance?

2 RisposteI can't run, jump or kill bad guys in real life. /Thanks broken back! But yeah thanks for letting me feel like I am doing these things, if only for a moment! Destiny makes me laugh and smile. Makes me happy to help friends and see them get loot!

4 RisposteReally? Let's all get a free gun by preaching a story. Dude my life is horrible. I have to listen to ppl whine about everything on here. Can I get a gun or a armor shader for this? Stresses me out beyond belief knowing your life is pure agony due to this crazy story you told. I'm grieving for everyone who has concocted one of these sotries.

2 RisposteWe all have our stories. My mum passed away in a bloody death from cancer in my arms in my living room last year, so traumatic I went into counselling, a month after i lost my dog. Just before Christmas my nan passed away unexpectedly so yeah last year was definitely a shit one! I have spent endless hours playing consoles games to try and zone out, forget about it and relieve myself of the pain but don't become a zombie. You need to stick with those bad feelings to get over them. It's a dark path that leads to the light. Being a guardian i'm sure you can do it!

3 RisposteFriends brother passed away 3 years back from overdose on medication and my grandmother from cancer. We both hit games pretty hard since then and now play destiny together and have something to look forward to every evening. You have my respect man.

1 RispondiVideo games have always been my release. I can lose myself in them and that is the greatest feeling. Life has been tough for you I can tell but I'm happy you were able to find a way to cope and keep going. Hang in there guardian, things will get better.

1 RispondiFirst off, you have my support. I have seen 3 of my 4 grandparents die of cancer aswell as my father. (My father was the worst, he died right in front of me.) All I can really say to you is, you can try to distract yourself from the reality but in the end, the situation gets to you, and I mean it. In my case it started sort of innocently with a few sleeping problems. After that it was screaming myself awake, insomnia, having blackouts, rage attacks and thus went to a therapist. Now I have sleeping pills and a weekly appointment at the therapist and it sort of calmed down but the main fact is... All the stress I have gathered over the years have finally got to me. Don't be me, go to your friends, family, whoever you can talk to. (I did this aswell but I took more care of others than others for me because I was always myself so people didn't know what to do with me) P.s. Don't resort to alcohol, I've been classified as a alcoholic and almost lost my job because of it. I would like to end this with: Good luck, and you have my support. :)
