I see this is a last chance, 3 strikes and you're out for Destiny.
I like Destiny I like it a lot and play it at least every other day, but House of Wolves is going to have to be pretty epic to keep me and many others playing.
I'm hoping the fact it's now a Q2 release means they can stick more in because as an Xbox owner, a few story missions, a new strike and a raid are not going to keep my playing till Comet. Which as we know we'll also have to pay extra for.
It might be the case a lot of people play House of Wolves then shelve Destiny till the next expansion.
But and this is a big but, can you honestly afford to pay 150 dollars and then some in the space of a year to play one game? It's almost unjustifiable. The Dark Below was over very quickly. We now have a 3 month wait for the next and I hope to God it's at least 3 times the content.
Here's a good question. Knowing what Destiny will be this time next year would we have been happy to wait another year?
We'll have what 4 raids 10 strikes more planets more patrols more everything!

5 RisposteModificato da Elite-Hunter_17: 2/11/2015 12:35:52 PMI already promised myself that if Activision's greedy ass charges for the comet and expansions 3&4, which they will, I'm leaving. Expansion 1&2 = $35, Comet = Minimum of lets say $40 (if they're feeling gracious), and expansions 3&4 = $35. Grand total = A minimum of $110 at the least just for the dlc. Don't get me wrong I like the game, but I refuse to spend at least $110 for dlc for destiny. I'm used to paying $50 for a season pass, while looking forward to free bonus dlc in the end. <--- And this experience was taken from a game published by EA. Yah know the same EA that releases games at full retail price, even though they're broken and incomplete... Sad to say, but it's true. I like Bungie, but I don't like Activision's greed. Unfortunately though, I think destiny is really going to suffer more than it already has because of it.

11 RisposteBethesda are going to announce Fallout 4 in a few weeks.. I hear on the grapevine that it's going to have a co op mode. Bungie are really going to pull a rabbit out of their hat with HOW there are so many exciting new games just round the corner.

There's a rumour to suggest Halo 5 is out in September. If thats true and it really is as good as 343 promise (in glad they're being quiet about it) then Destiny is fukked. They moved HoW back to mid year when famously fuk all good games are released. People will buy halo because it's halo so I honestly can't see Destiny pulling people away from that and other games.

3 RisposteAnyone who thinks the time delay has anything to do with adding content is naive. We paid for HoW already and to think it'll be any different from TDB is plain naivety. They'll change some of the currency mistakes that accompanied TDB but as far as story missions, cut scenes, story delivery will be the same. Comet may change things but till then it's 3 new story missions on maps we've played before with the exception of finally being on the Reef. There's still 4 "glitched" into spots that aren't attached to HoW so these maps will be apart of dlcs comet and afterward too. Same recycled content style for a few years.

18 RisposteModificato da SwankyButters: 2/10/2015 8:35:08 AMI don't think they will ever be able to ADD enough content to make the game work. What they need to do is change what we have, make is different, shake it up, flip it all on us. Strikes in reverse Flower petals shooting out of our guns on valentine day I want to find something I have no idea what it is and I have to hunt down the person who has the other half of that something I want bounties that are a smart challenge, not a time based one I want racing I want Gambling I want a part of the game that is THE Badlands where you can loose the stuff you have armed I want a hurricane in the tower I want to see the a part of the city below in flames for no reason I want to see all the lights go out in the city and not know what's going on I want one of the tower bots to start following me around I want one of the venders to refuse to sell me something I want something to do I want to be surprised I want to challenge other players to a shooting contest, with targets or clay pidgons I want to find a yellow engram in the wild I want something unexpected I want every enemy in an area to start chasing me and not let up I want to find gold in a cave I want to find a chest, open it and find an exotic I want to open another and find a turd or a skull or something I wasn't expecting I want to find the most powerful weapon in the universe and only be able to put it together if I can solve a really hard puzzle I want something.... anything... short of boredom...

2 RisposteI'm getting rid of destiny as soon as I can get something else, looking at the game pisses me off that I'm being spoon fed fragmented portion of a whole product. -blam!- that.

Modificato da Unforgiven: 2/11/2015 3:41:31 AMIf Deej could could answer to you truthfully, Dear Destiny Player(s), Rome was not built in a day. I think we should take a step back at what we have accomplished here. We have released the most groundbreaking game ever in terms of gameplay and player cooperation on Next-Gen Consoles. Also. I think Bungie has learned a harsh lesson from Destiny's reviews. We learned not to let them publish the reviews so goddamn early. Next time we will make it a "rule" not to do that review thing early. That lost us our bonus money from Activision. We lost like 2.5 million in employee bonuses because of that stuff. :) But to be honest with you, we still made a killing and we are laughing all the way to the bank. We are so rich in fact, that we took extra time off for Christmas just so we can booze, and -blam!- as many expensive escorts as we could. We are talking Hollywood style, high paid girls with real pretty faces, at least $2000/hour. I am so -blam!-ing rich bro. You think I give a -blam!-? We are swimming in your money like Scrooge McDuck! Also I would like to add: Thank you for all your hard earned praise of Destiny. It has been a big year for Bungie. We finally spread our wings and removed the collar Microsoft has put on us, I really feel good about that. Free. What a feeling! And then Activision clamped a collar on us so tight we can hardly breathe. But Hey. It is what it is. "You breathe when I tell you to breathe." Ok Bobby Kotick, no worries, just don't fire me. Please? I'd be in trouble. I don't want to go back to the Bing.com dungeons or as Microsoft called it Bang.com. They are dark and scary. And Bill Gates has this torture chair.. Oh god nooooo :( I mean, Bungie is my life, if I cannot keep up my lavish lifestyle, my wife will throw me on the street. Any real gaming company, would have fired me a long time ago. HEHE! We are pals righ Bobby? /Hug* /Wave* / Kiss* Oh where was I? Keep playing Crucible till the next expansion comes out. That's why we keep making changes on your weapons. To show that we care. They are in fact tiny tweaks at this point. AHAHA I bet you didn't know that. You guys are dumb as -blam!- Become Legend! - Deej Impersonator P.S. Friendly reminder, this is a joke.

2 RisposteI can't tell if he was making a pun when he said 3 strikes or your out

If Deej could could answer to you truthfully ^^ Read above link ^^,

If you do the math the total price equals an mmo sub fee for a years worth of time. Makes me a little bothered when you see that way. This game doesn't get updates in that way and doesn't deserve the price being displayed.

13 RisposteFallout, grand theft auto, skyrim, all of them have tons more to do than destiny. To keep people interested destiny's next dlc needs 4 - 6 times as much content as the dark below. Or even better add a survival mode, give dynamic patrol events (like the eris patrol bounties), and rotate between at least 3 PvP events (ideally that all give raid level armor).
-
Wolves is the same amount of content ad DB, enjoy the 3 hours and shelve it for good.
-
1 RispondiModificato da Unforgiven: 2/10/2015 10:32:57 PMI am hopeful that Bungie learns from the Dark Below, and delivers more content as well as some features that players have been asking for in the House of Wolves. I am hopeful that is why they delayed it till May or June. If not, I see Destiny dying while it is young. It will be like Warframe, a game which was cool, but noone really plays anymore.
-
They should have done what was advertised in the first place. TDB and HoW should have been on the release game to begin with. Then Comet should have been the 1st DLC, they stuck it too us plain and simple. And before you go getting mad at Bungie take a cold hard look at Activision and how they have done this many times. Activision doesn't partner with companies, they OWN them!
-
7 RisposteYou mean to tell me 12 1/2 days of playtime isn't worth 90 bucks? Holy cow this forum is the worst...

3 Risposte"House of wolves is not enough" Would you prefer a Mansion of wolves or the house of mouse?

8 RisposteModificato da mlewis399: 2/9/2015 4:40:44 PMI'm unclear on this, but don't a fair number of mmos have subscriptions? The issue here isn't the amount of money, but lack of value. I paid 85 American dollars and at points i still feel like this is a beta. Weapons still getting balanced, game ending glitches in both raids, a story mission i can beat in less than a day of work, and I don't work very hard. People will pay damn near insane amounts of money if that product is well produced. HoW will have exactly the same amount of content as DB. Without the introduction of at least decent PVE and PVP events, this game will be a graveyard by June. And no, Iron Banner once a month does not count. Its fun, but like everything else ,its getting stale because of recycled content. No one needs to gear. There are no unique game modes or maps. GIVE US SOMETHING, and we'll stay. Its as simple as that. Borderlands 2 is still being supported. They still get new dlc. New events. Whereas I'm having a hard time justifying logging on today. Because what's the point? CE is a pain and unfun. I need to wait for a reset to run anything fun. The rest is just... Boring now.
-
They managed to ripoff my money whit Dark Below but not whit HoW, theres no content for money there 1/10 DB
-
I love destiny. I was addicted for months but now, I rarely play. I have no interest in playing anymore. It is very tedious to play the same thing over and over and nothing changes. I still am looking forward to house of wolves, it will be fun for a while but the game really needs more to keep my interest. I used to play daily and have many hours into this game. Maybe I should have played more casually so I would still enjoy it today. Lol
-
I find myself playing less and less. The dark below was fun but hard mode crota is a lame raid with lamer rewards. Bungie keeps track of how many hours are played so they know what's up. Thing is, many games are still less bang for your buck. I have every exotic but the hard light, the game got a lot better for me when I stopped caring about rewards and just played because it's fun.
-
Realistically Destiny needed to ship with double to triple the content it did on release. 40-60 missions to actually tell a proper introduction+mid plot+conclusion storyline in the one game like other game trilogies do. 10-15 strikes so when you regrind you get sufficient variety. By that measure the whole release cycle of Original+TDB+HoW+Comet will barely constitute a full game compared others in the genre.
-
3 RisposteModificato da Jenko: 2/10/2015 8:41:52 PMLol the game had its legs broken when Activision got involved. The game is not enough. 'Place holders' is the term for 'content we pulled to make into disc locked content' that they then scrapped down to a standard strike/raid combo with some more 'boring story' missions where you get to play the same locations 'in reverse'. It's more like bungivision these days.
-
1 RispondiMaybe they are adding more content. I hope so. If not then they are just being D-bags. If they extend it they should definitely add another strike or something.
