Do you fully upgrade your exotic weapons?
I don't play 3 characters and I don't raid much so I have limited coins and rarely a duplicate exotic to turn into a shard. For these reasons, I have yet to fully upgrade an exotic weapon since shard addition.
Correct me if I am wrong but I don't see any benefit in filling in the last node on an exotic gun. It seems to be a minimal damage increase for the cost and if that is the case, it will in most cases still take same number of bullets to take out an enemy (for the most part).
Am I the only one that thinks Bungie should change the shard node to be the exotic perk each gun has instead?

I only fully upgrade the really good ones, like icebreaker, thorn, and vex. Also, a good way to get duplicate exotics is exotic bounties, especially SGA. I also 100% agree with you that the exotic perk should take and exotic shard, not the damage upgrade.

Only when I use motes to buy engrams for free shards. Otherwise I don't bother, I didn't buy into TDB's lies much less Bungie's so I just PvP and do VoG these days.

I only fully upgrade the ones I use. Most I only need to buy the materials for. But I do unlock the special perks for all of them.

I also have three exotic armor pieces maxed and I'm working on two new ones thanks to Xur. Xur selling exotic engrams is one of my best sources of exotic shards. I only run Hunter so anything I get that isn't for my class, or is a duplicate, gets dismantled for a shard. Also if Xur has nothing I need for sale I'll usually spend the seven coins and pick up a shard. I currently have three shards on me, and a duplicate Mythoclast in my vault I could dismantle if I was really desperate for one.

That would make it a much more valuable node. It's not a bad idea, but most will max it out because I'll be dammed if my Icebreaker doesn't say 331. Exotics I only use during burns don't get maxed.

No, I collect exo weapons that's it "I have them all btw" I only max the ones I use, IB x3 and Ghorn. When the new DL comes out if I have to wipe them and do it again I will only do one IB and Ghorn.

Depends on the weapon. My P&T is maxed, and I will do the same for my IB. Once I complete this Bad JuJu bounty, I will max it out. My super good advice will never be maxed. Not wasting a shard on that thing.

Plus I've maxed at least 10 of those before and after the 331 damage boost. So yes, I max my exotics, but my legendarys usually stay at 294. Just missing Hawkmoon, 4th Horseman and Necrochasm.

2 RisposteThe last node only really matters for raiding against level 32 and 33 enemies. So if you don't raid you should just save your resources

I only upgrade what I raid with the rest I don't . as for saving the shards for next dlc they will probably add some new form of shard we have to use to go to 3.0 its going to be a never ending cycle to keep you playing the game.

8 RisposteI find it just so hard to use an exotic shard when that last attack node amounts to what I guess is 4.5 percent increase in dmg, you will need to reset gun after next dlc, and shards will be needed for that and upgrading exotic armor again. Easier of course if you play a rediculous amount and have tons of shards but most don't.

I buy an exotic engram if it's duplicate or not my class I have a shard problem solved

I have 1 character an I fully upgrade guns that I wanna keep (exotic) I just do bounties an swap over the guns owing upgraded when I hand them in, takes only 2-3 days to fully upgrade an exotic from start to finish

Only what I use. I have exotics in the bank I'll never use. That's where my shards come from. The only one I'll never tear down is the Vex. It sucks, but memories.

since you don't raid and won't be facing level 33 enemies it would be a waste of materials.

I pick up bounties for shards. That's what I did with SGA (picked it up twice. Because it's so easy) easy bounty, easy shards. And I have 2 characters who can run the heroic and a stock from when Xür just had secondary and no armour worthwhile

I do. I dont see why not. I mean yeah we'll have to do it again. But whats there to do now? I just do it for something to do.
