So, after a long day of Iron Banner, I decide to head back to the tower to see if my bounties had reset, they didnt... This tower was oddly quiet though, no one running around, no christmas newbies jumping up and down after coming back to the tower with their big haul, It was just quiet. Im about to head out into orbit until suddenly a lone message appears at the top of my screen. I think to myself "oh god not another crota invite." I go to the dashboard hestitantly and click messages. It was a quaint, small message from a lone lvl 27 in the tower asking me to run the nightfall with him, that since hes been playing this game hes been alone. I stare at the message my eyes squinted and my heart drooping. I think queitly to myself, that I dont have time for this, that I dont want to. As im about to click back my heart kicks in and tells me just do it. So I invite him to a private session and we begin the nightfall together. I of course have already done it and wasnt really expecting anything. For a lvl 27 this guy was pulling his weight. Reviving me when he could, attempting to do damage. We finally get to sepiks prime and kill the bastard. I was really hoping for him to get an exotic, to make this nightfall special and he did, he got the "Helm of Inmost Light" for his/her titan. I turn around and see him jumping with glee dancing about the new exotic he just recieved. I think to myself, "my job here is done." I leave to go to orbit and continue to go about my day. Moral of the story, if you see someone that is new dont be afraid to give them a hand and show them the ropes, because remember, everyone was new once, even you.
EDIT: Thanks to everyone for the great comments! :) I never thought this would get so many of them, make sure to share your stories down below and keep on keepin on.
EDIT: Im providing free nightfall/weekly runs, for anyone that needs to do them. New, experienced, old, young, whatever it may be ill help you get it done. PSN: Leonatius (PS4)

Modificato da girflush: 1/18/2015 7:27:55 PMA lvl 25 sent me a message one time in the tower and was similar to yours. He wanted something Xur was selling and needed help getting the coins. He didn't have any friends to run with, had never done the raid, or anything. I ran him through the raid for the first time and helped him with nightfalls and weeklys and still do. He doesn't even use a mic and may even be a girl or kid, I don't know but he's now a 32 and is one of the best players on my list. In fact I cut my list a few days ago from 80 some to 20 and he was one of the first ones I knew I would keep.

8 RisposteI would love to help people. I just wish they would send a message along with the invitation so I know whats up.
-
I'm just impressed that they sent you a message first before blitzing you with play requests.
-
Just this morning I was running around some ROC strikes and some 31 level warlock comes help me out and we clear like dozens of strikes. Not really any loot and we didn't even have mics but it was a great feeling getting done through so many strikes like easy.

Thank you. You are awesome.

Me and my buddy dragged a 28 through the nightfall. We successfully used up all of our heavy and special subsequently killing sepiks in about a minute flat. Sepiks decided to come back to life though, and, as we were all in the center celebrating; light switch got us killed. Back to orbit. We still beat it with him. I think he got a shitty shotgun....

That's really cool :) it feels good to help people in destiny.
-
This inspires me. Thanks for being a human being, unlike many people on these forums.
-
I use to do this all the time until time after time I would get a-holes or people who didn't care or say thank you so I haven't really anymore
-
It's nice to know there are nice people out there that can lend a helping hand when it's needed

Nice! Made my day too!

Great job!

The light is strong in you guardian XD

I'll admit that I usually ignore messages like that. I think my problem with helping random people is that's how I got into a Halo: Reach clan and they weren't really the best people to be around. To be honest, I send out a few if I cannot solo them myself xD

2 RisposteI appreciate players like you. I am one that needs help in this game. I am fairly new, and this game is my second attempt into the world of shooters. I played Ghosts for a bit and that's it. I suck at aiming till I get it down better. I'm the guy always dying because I tunnel and don't see them coming behind me or I backpedal off that cliff ledge hehehe But a few nights ago 5 awesome players were willing to try and run me through my first ever VOG.... Unfortunately my internet had other ideas and dropped while fighting the platforms. In defeat I shut the Xbox down. Time will tell if shooters are ok for me, or if I should stick for the reason I got the Xbox and load Forza back up.

I have gotten 3 newbs through this week. Two gallahorns and a vex for them on their first try. I was as happy for them as when I got them. I had to laugh when guy got the vex. He dropped his headset and was running around his room screaming. Funny!!
