This is my first poll/petition post, and I'd like to address the issue of Faction Shaders.
Many of you know I have been here quite awhile but I usually keep to myself. I started out with a Human Titan and focused on ranking up with Dead Orbit to get the shaders, but since then I created an Exo Titan and I've started over.
The other night after inspecting a player to see what their incredible orange and black armor was, I found out they were using the Sunsetter, which is being sold by Eris. While I think this is a fantastic idea, I can't understand why we aren't allowed to buy shaders from the various factions when we've already seen screenshots of the factions selling them. I do understand that people have paid for The Dark Below, so yes, there are a few perks, but what about those of us who just want black, white or another Faction shader?
I direct you to the attached link for Reddit, where players are discussing the Dead Orbit shaders which look incredible on the Vanguard Titan.
Seriously, take a look at those images. They are amazing...
The fact that many of them have reached Rank 20 or more and have received only one or none at all, I just can't understand why we aren't able to just buy them after Rank 5 or something like that. There are screenshots of this online showing them being sold, I believe from the Beta. Is that really fair to the players at Rank 24 or 18 to be that highly ranked and receive nothing while others do?
Feel free to add or share your thoughts on this. And let's try to keep things civil...
EDIT: Due to numerous suggestions, and because I am in agreement, Rank 15 would be totally acceptable to make shaders for purchase. Please sign my petition asking Bungie to please allow factions to sell the shaders at Rank 15. Thank you.
UPDATE 1: Many people here have suggested a higher rank to purchase shaders, such as Rank 10-15. I find this to be an acceptable option.
UPDATE 2: As of February 21st, 1:30am, I finally reached Rank 10 with Dead Orbit. I received a Commendation and Ascendant Energy. I received no Dead Orbit Shaders of any kind.
UPDATE 3: As of February 24st, 11:55pm, I reached Rank 11 with Dead Orbit. I received a Commendation and a Strange Coin. I received no Dead Orbit Shaders of any kind.
UPDATE 4: Around the beginning of March, I reached Rank 12 with Dead Orbit. I received a Commendation and the Auto Rifle, which I already have. I received no Dead Orbit Shaders of any kind.
UPDATE 5: As of April 2nd, I am at Rank 18 with Dead Orbit, and still no shaders have been rewarded.
UPDATE 6: Around May 1st, 2015, I reached rank 22 with Dead Orbit. I received no shaders of any kind.
Do you guys see where I'm going with the Updates? How much time invested is too much to get nothing, or get the same weapons, emblems and so forth awarded over and over again? And for those you being insulting, calling me a "Christmas Noob" and so forth, I've been playing since launch, and I've had multiple characters and classes. All I have now is a new Titan.
UPDATE: Wow! Over 3,000 votes for "Hell Yes!" You guys are awesome! Let's get this trending!
UPDATE: I'm seeing a lot of angry Guardians here, saying "No! I earned my faction shaders!" Unfortunately, I have bad news for you: You're not special. You've earned nothing. You got lucky with the RNG. You're also hypocrites. I'll explain:
If you're one of the angry players here saying no to purchasing shaders, and you ranked up with FWC in order to buy a weapon, you're a hypocrite. If you ranked up with Lord Shaxx to buy a piece of Crucible armor, you're a hypocrite. Did you play in the Iron Banner to rank up to buy items? Guess what... You ranked up with various groups in order to reach a level to purchase items. Buying shaders is no different than buying a helmet or an auto rifle. How many of you have the Sunsetter shader? If you're one of the several angry players saying no to buying shaders from other factions, and you're wearing any shaders sold by Eris, you're a hypocrite.
From what I've seen, House of Wolves is going to be doing the same exact thing: Allowing you to rank up to purchase items.
I have a feeling that the angry players here who are saying "No!" are the same people who make other players feel like crap for purchasing items from Xur. It's just a hunch...

I finally got a fwc shader, good luck to you man

I grinded to lvl 20 dead orbit before I got my first shader. Bad idea to sell them. It's just a shader. If you really want one keep grinding and eventually it will drop. Lvl 15 is a pretty low lvl for factions. If people could buy them they would get to 15 and then switch to the next faction to buy the next one.
my titan looks freakin' awesome with bittersteel
3 RisposteOk, and the cryptarch should give everyone a gjallarhorn at rank 5. Seems fair.
-
1 RispondiYea I need at least one
-
2 RisposteDudes crying at rank 18 with no shaders. Christmas noobs 2.0
-
No. Instead have set packages at marks. You get one at say, 15, then 30, then 45, and so on. Buying is too easy.
-
1 RispondiPlease stop.....ive worked hard for my stuff :(
-
Got Nefertiti AK and The Hanged Man at rank 23. I was so happy.
-
I have all dead orbit shaders, missing 1 new monarchy shader, and all FWC shaders.

Modificato da GOTsomeHATERADE: 5/12/2015 8:20:13 PMAlthough I'd live for your idea to be implemented in the game, I don't think it should. My reasoning behind it, is because the randomness of the shaders dropping from a package keeps the cool ones rare. Especially since it isn't a necessity in the game, its a nice surprise when you actually get more than some ascendant mats, blue engrams, or the same -blam!-in hand cannon you get every time lol The only shader I have is amelthea from NM, and I got it from hitting rank 6 :) nothing from dead orbit though
-
Dead orbit Rank 70 combined on characters, and still don't have revenant or bittersteel
-
-
1 Rispondi15 it not high enough
-
Rank 11 new monarchy got a shader at rank 10
-
-
-
How bout at rank 100 they sell them.
-
8 RisposteThats stupid. Im rank 30, have 2 shaders and a ship. Why don't you actually work until you get lucky enough?
-
Sell like vendors sell guns. Rank 10 sell 1, between rank 15 and 20 (random) another and then 25 the last one ??
-
More like 30 or higher

I think they need to fix the factions a lot more than just buying shader here is my idea. I think they should sell them but in a different way. This has to do with faction wars. Have a read. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/120950362/0/0

why, why cant they just sell shaders right off the bat" like a real vendor?

Rank 10 is too low. On the one hand having shaders on RNG as opposed to certain ranks allows players to feel and look more unique than the next person , however the down side to this is that some people can be really unlucky and not get any rewards for 20-40+ ranks. I got extremely lucky and got Revenant at rank 10 . The problem with factions is its just RNG and also the fact there is very little to work towards. I posted this thread on reddit a while ago once I hit rank 100 (currently 168 DO) with the suggestion of the potential of factions. Depending on what gets implemented in HoW with regards to factions I'll revise my post on the things that bungie could do to make factions more appealing and rewarding. Keeping shaders RNG would offer a surprise and still make guardians unique but also adding other rewards at certain milestones would allow players something to work towards. Bungie already made factions have more purpose with the introduction of the ascending system which now allows players to equip faction armor whilst still having max light level. I don't want to say what else could be improved yet because I don't know what will be introduced with HoW. Exotic class items have been data mined but whether or not they get introduced in this patch is another question.

Seems legit
