What’s the stupidest way you’ve killed yourself?
I put up a post recently about the fact that even level 30’s can do stupid things. I had so many comments from people saying about the stupid things they’d done, I thought I’d put up a separate post. Here’s just one example of something I’ve done.
I started as a hunter and only had one character for ages. My wife wanted to try Destiny so she started a titan. I was helping her get her level up and went into the crucible to get some bounties. I saw a whole team claiming a zone in control and thought to myself “bingo! I’ve waited a long time to do this. These guys aren’t going to know what hit them”. As I wasn’t experience using a titan, I didn’t realise that if you’re sprinting your special launches you a lot further. I went straight over the top of all of them, smashed down the other side and got shot in the back by all 6 of them :p
edit: I normally try to respond to all of the comments if I put up a post, but there have been so many I'm struggling to keep up. Keep them coming they're priceless. It's nice to see people making fun of themselves, rather than taking the game so seriously

I was trolling a phalanx who could'nt kill me by dancing in front of him, punched me with his shield and bam, right in the wall 50 meters away "you're dead" I lol'd so hard.

I solo'd my way to the archon priest during a nightfall and fell off the cliff while going into the cheese spot under the platform. haha

Happened in explore mode. I was shooting a friend out of boredom who just jumped off his sparrow. Damn thing blew a coil, launched straight at me, and sent me flying with extreme prejudice into the sulfuric oceans of Venus. I was laughing so hard that I forgot to save my retardation.

thinking I could go over there and that it was playable space when I tried to go there i died. so many times Ive seen what looks like a playable area just to flat out die

I jumped off the edge of the Tower.

Weekly Nightfall. Got to the boss on the Nexus Strike, jumped off the ledge and died from the fall. It was a serious lack of concentration.

Black Garden daily yesterday. Hiding on the ledge on the left side. Jumped up and a minotaur punched me off the edge. I count this as a self kill because I was dumb enough to let it happen XD

1 RispondiModificato da jmacELITE2305: 12/8/2014 8:58:24 AMI spawn on the moon doing the sword of Crota mission I head towards the hell mouth on my EV 30 tumbler sparrow I see this jump in the area between the hell mouth and spawn area I boost stop then boost again towards the ramp but realise I have no boost, I fall to my death and to make it worse I was on 93 with the kill 100 enemy's without dieing bounty

Jumping on a ship on the cabal strike.. (Forget how you spell it, Val wotsit) and being whizzed off then crashing into a rock. :( Most my other stupid deaths are rocket launcher accidents.

First one comes to mind: Was exploring ways to cheese valus (mars strike not the psn exclusive one) as I kind of had to start soloing nightfalls. Anyway found a place I could barely slip into. Was shooting him just fine. Then I decided to try and fire a rocket. Blew myself up when trying to fire and not get shot. I've also been killed by making my pike spin in the air for no reason.

Truth... Locked on to a hunter in Shores of Time he missed his jump as I fired and the rocket hit the ledge in front of me ending my nice little spree. The hunter died of suicide...

Raid. Missed the center and fell to my doom.

Stuck a tripmine grenade to a phalanx's shield and when it blew up, it killed us both.

Helping a buddy with the Nexus nightfall. We were almost done and our third teammate was down, I bust out my Truth to deliver the final blow but my buddy jumps in front of me, the rocket detonates in ma face and he gets killed by the Nexus right after lol

Modificato da IR0N MANT1S: 12/8/2014 7:31:07 AMat a control point looking through a scope when a couple team mates of mine (one happens to be a titan) runs over and pops a bubble shield.. just than an enemy crosses into my sights. I start firing wildly at him to no avail (since I hand't dropped my sights I didn't realize I was inside the bubble and just shooting the shield... out of frustration I than proceed to whip two hand grenades (Armamantium) the instant I stop looking through my scope, which bounce off the shield fall two feet in front of us and then proceeds to blast me and my entire team back to hell.

so there i was minding my own business farming spirt bloom from Venus going in and out of the caves, when my buddy decides to join me. I tell him "over here dude, there is a chest" he jumps on his sparrow and zips over to get the chest when I notice he Flys right in the cave driving like a crazy person and full speed slams into my gardian and I bounce of the cave walls like a pinball to my death... oh yeah and he didn't revive me so by the time I got to the chest again it was gone lol

Modificato da PSMedri: 12/8/2014 7:01:11 AMI've used Fist of Havoc on a shield wielding Cabal only to be thrown across the map and off a cliff. I died to "misadventure". Edit: not just a few inches or feet away, I mean CLEAR ACROSS the map.

Either in the Raid, backing off a ledge I thought had more room, or... My favorite, a fall that SHOULDN'T kill me, but I hit an awkward angle or a corner on something, hear a massive "clunk" and drop dead.

I was walking up to a cabal (the one with the shield) and he hit me right in the which propelled me into the air (hang time was like 5 seconds) then i splattered against a wall.... I hate Mars.

Me and my friends were playing vog, we were having a break and I lagged out. There was one afc, and my friend tried to shoulder charge them off, and shoulder charged off the map, warlock had to self res to push them off.

1 RispondiKilled a guy with my level 4 handcannon in the crucible. Walked over to his body and started teabagging him. Crouched right over him and shot one round into his head. I guess the "impact" was too much up close and I ended up being killed via "misadventure." :/ I've learned to just teabag now.
