How did you go about checking these specific kills? Not questioning the validity of your post, I'm just curious as to how I can check my own stats.

When you go to your grimoire. Select the weapons card, then select handcannons and press the stats button on the right button. This displays your handcannon kills. Also works for other guns and their stats of course

Thank you, sir. Also, that's hell a lot of hand cannon kills. In my opinion, Hawkmoon is the way to go when wanting to deal a lot of damage but Fatebringer is best for dealing with mobs. Maybe I'm wrong? What do you think?
