So, after spending the last couple of days working outrageously long shifts at work, I returned home to play a little Destiny and log in. As I clicked X to play and logged into my character, I was suddenly filled with dread. Call of Duty: AW had launched! Surely, I thought, Destiny must've died if all the constant posts about how COD would kill it were right, and there were so many! Yet as I returned to the Tower, I was surprised to see it was full! It might be a fluke, I thought, so I went for a quick match in the Crucible! And once again, matchmaking times hadn't slowed a bit!
How could this be, I wondered? Surely the internet majority had spoken, and their voice was truth?
And then I remembered......
They weren't.
They are just a tiny slice of the much larger gaming demographic, and I went my merry way playing Destiny.
Now, I have a few more weeks of listening to people scream about how the MCC, Far Cry, or Assassin's Creed will kill Destiny, only to bathe in the tears of their frustration when it doesn't happen to look forward to.

Modificato da QcC4: 11/6/2014 7:51:01 PMIts sad to see so many ppl defending this half game... oh well if this what u guys like good for you i guess... oh and by the way i hate cod too so dont give me that crap about going back to cod
-
Snakester FTW more fun....

1 RispondiThat's because call of duty advanced warfare is a lag fest piece of shit with boring weapons and abilities ripped straight from Crysis I'm trading my copy in as soon as I can think of a decent game to buy. I'll actually be buying the DLC for Destiny now as it's hands down a better game I've never liked cod anyway to be honest, even MW just over hyped crap same shit year in year out

6 Risposte
How could this be, I wondered? Surely the internet majority had spoken, and their voice was truth? And then I remembered...... They weren't. They are just a tiny slice of the much larger gaming demographic, and I went my merry way playing Destiny.
We are the few that speak for the many. There are issues with this game that depending on whether or not Bungie acts right, can severely impact the amount of players. Just shrug them off calling them babies, and eventually you'll be the one crying. But it'll be a cry for those who had left. Either Bungie does things right, or people are going. There's already not enough content to keep people interested in the long run, and the DLC doesn't provide much either. And no, rehashed content isn't new content.

6 RisposteI HAVE A QUESTION. WHY THE HELL WHEN I PLUG MY HEADSET UP AND SPEAK IT SHOWS A MIC SYMBOL..BUT NO ONE CAN HEAR? IS IT ONLY FOR PPL ON YOUR FIRE TEAM PRIOR TO A MATCH? I WAS IN SKIRMISH TALKING AND THE MIC EMBLEM KEPT POPPING UP..WTF this is sad for 2014
-
I dont have MCC or Farcry 4 yet and this game is drifting away from my priorities. I'm beating a dead horse everytime I log on.
-
3 RisposteLuckily...some players have horrible taste, those ppl may keep things a float. But if one can't see that Cod is a true next gen game....and this game is not. Well either you never tried it....or you never tried it. Period.
-
i haven't seen much change. i logged on and thought the same thing, until i realized the dreaded "only person left" glitch had kicked in and had to restart the game. lol but matchmaking for me has been fine no changes what so ever.
-
Give it a month. They will be back for crotas end lol
-
2 Rispostethis game is a big fail
-
it killed PVP. hardly any full matches to be had
-
2 RisposteDestiny is pretty dead for me.... Went from 40 friends online everyday, to about 2-6 now....the shit dlc wont help much either.
-
Just sold my copy of AW hated it
-
2 RisposteThat was never going to happen. CoD still has nothing different to offer. It does a poor impression of Crysis and Titanfall but with a tired game with a silly philosophy of "Hey you're wrecking this other team so here is something to screw on them even harder." Killstreaks in games are an awful idea. The super comes close to it but ,other than the warlock which is a disgustingly powerful class that I'll always feel dirty playing as, you actually have to put yourself at risk to use them. Just having that bit of challenge to keep your bubble up or to successfully arc blade without getting wrecked by shotties, fusion rifles, all other supers or heavy ammo is so much more satisfying when you pull the kill off.
-
nah only the COD-kiddies went off. The rest is waiting until an alternative shows up. In example the Division next year.
-
1 RispondiDo people realize youl never individually see the low population? It's max 16 people or so in tower. You can find that on any dead game
-
the tower can only hold 16 people so even 100 people only would make the tower full if players were there.

18 RisposteDestiny is dying, everyone I know doesn't play it anymore, you get to level 30 and you stop. It's not because of CoD, gaming itself is killing Destiny. Destiny is an abomination to gaming, it's so cheap. I bought Guild Wars 2 on my PC for the Halloween special ($20) and it excels at EVERYTHING Destiny strives to be with at least 4x the amount of content, and at a much higher quality, diversity, and enjoyment. I then played Borderlands 2 and realised at how much better it achieved Destiny's mechanics, then I played Warframe (free) and had fun grinding the same(ish, regarding Warframe) content as they had the great idea to randomly generate their content and, of course add 3x more than Destiny's content. It even managed to achieve higher gameplay diversity, frames per second, a better story, higher player involvement the list goes on and on. Basically, the point I'm trying to get across is that if you're still playing Destiny, you're no better than a mass market CoD preteen.
-
You need to take Into consideration destiny made over 500+ mil since launch and therefore a lot of investors. MCC will for sure take me and many of my friends who play destiny away but I will still play destiny it's a great game, a lot of people play cod and switch between the 2.
-
The same thing is said about any mmo or mmo type game. Look at wow, so much was said to kill it and it's not dead yet.
-
these two games are not competitors, they're released by the same company who gets money either way. they just cater different audiences.
-
1 Rispondii think if zombies wasnt a DLC more people would have bought the game, and be playing it. As it stands not many on my friends list are. But destiny has died down alot; from the first raid, clan/match making and forums i went from 5 friends to 66. There was a time when i always had 2 pages full or more at all times. now i only peak onto the second page on tuesdays and maybe on the odd friday, and more often than not there is 6 to 8 online of those 66 . I think with or without competition it was dying off for many non hardcore gamers. I imagine It will continue like this until the DLC drops. After that it will all depend how good the DLC is, I hope they have an ace up their sleeves there, people already upset with the price tag. If it doesnt deliver then the outlook is bleak

Nobody really believes any new game release will destroy Destiny. That's just hyperbole being used to bait people like you into reacting to it. Why would you even bother? All it does is feed this ridiculous sideshow. Look, Destiny's fate is basically its own. Some people WILL abandon this game, not because of other games, but because they have no compelling reason to stay. I'm not talking about everyone. Like any game, Destiny will find a core community that will stick with it to the end. The only question, the one that neither you or I, or anyone else right now, can answer, is how big will that audience be. Maybe 95% of people grumbling will buy the DLC anyway. Activision wins. Maybe they're all going to stick to their guns and kick this game to the curb. Activision loses. The point is, nothing has been decided, and won't be until all the content has been released, and Activision gets a look at the sales numbers.

4 RisposteWell looking at the aproaching GTA 5 and its first person mode Iam quite afraid that exactly this game will be a hard test for Destiny. I for one might be one of them, BUT I think I rather wait for the PC version and directly with that I do my PC upgrade. Bungie should really rethink how fast they work on additional content bcoz november is the month of tripple A releases. GTA5, Far cry and ofc Dragon Age. One brief look at Twitch and Destiny you can see a huge and significant decrease in views.

Modificato da Textually Harass: 11/6/2014 1:35:36 PMBungie was smart enough to guard themselves against other games killing thier matchmaking. They put in a tiny amount of playlists. That centralises the population and ensures that playlist population will remain high.

3 RisposteLBP3 is what will kill destiny.
