Destiny is dying! Oh wait...
So, after spending the last couple of days working outrageously long shifts at work, I returned home to play a little Destiny and log in. As I clicked X to play and logged into my character, I was suddenly filled with dread. Call of Duty: AW had launched! Surely, I thought, Destiny must've died if all the constant posts about how COD would kill it were right, and there were so many! Yet as I returned to the Tower, I was surprised to see it was full! It might be a fluke, I thought, so I went for a quick match in the Crucible! And once again, matchmaking times hadn't slowed a bit!
How could this be, I wondered? Surely the internet majority had spoken, and their voice was truth?
And then I remembered......
They weren't.
They are just a tiny slice of the much larger gaming demographic, and I went my merry way playing Destiny.
Now, I have a few more weeks of listening to people scream about how the MCC, Far Cry, or Assassin's Creed will kill Destiny, only to bathe in the tears of their frustration when it doesn't happen to look forward to.

Its not like the tower holds millions of people........ Many people left for AW i would say it hurt Activision BUT they'd released both games so it was a win for them. YES LESS PEOPLE ARE PLAYING DESTINY. But the number is not exactly known.

5 RisposteGames will come and games will go. And not ONCE in the history of gaming has a crying carebear got these dates correct. When is Destiny dead? When I can no longer/wish not to log in any more. Not a second less. For example, when Dragon's Age hits, I will be playing. As my game time is limited, Destiny will take a hit. And I will be right back in it. Destiny will "live", even if I am not playing it actively.

6 RisposteFrom what i have seen a mojority of the people that call this game is horrible, claim COD will kill destiny, say they have quit/sold destiny or pretty much dog this game have played in the past 3 days. You can go on to any post and find people who claim these types of things and yet keep logging in. Some will stop playing and thats fine. But Destiny isnt dying.

Im going to get Assassin Creed Unity because my clanmates are going to play it while waiting for Destiny Xpac. Same for DA:I, that Inquisitor edition waiting for me... Oh boy. But in the end I will still play Destiny. Soon to have all my 3 different class level 30 ..oh boy

Tower only needs 15 people to be full. 12 players for pvp. No division among skill so always find games and see peoppe in the tower. I think the game was designed like that for a reason. It woulda been cool to see thousands of players running around earth but earth isn't big enough like northend in wow or somthing.

Destiny will die from stupid updates and thin content. I'm a Lvl 30 and I'm literally playing to help my friends. Call of Duty and sunset, even Hulu plus are more appealing to me than destiny. The events are lame, iron banner is lame. Once you have certain equipment or guns, there is no point in playing. To explore? Far cry and Unity are going to kill that upside. Destiny is paper thin but it was the best game out until now. So continue to enjoy failing to see the big picture. Destiny isn't bad but it just isn't deep enough to last. DLC will keep me entertained for a few weeks but I don't even care to be a 32.

Wow your in depth scientific and statistically valid analysis really proves that the destiny player base isn't declining. Especially with your large sample size! Congratulations, Bungie can fire all their analytics teams! But seriously though, as more and more new games come out, I'm pretty sure destiny will continue to atrophy. And I don't even want destiny to fail. I want Bungie to improve it so it succeeds.

Why would the tower not being or match times .... why would you think this means all is well in Destiny?. - Tower full, that just means they aren't using the other phases/servers. It make sense to put every into as few of phases/games as possible. Why would they spread ppl out?, why would they use servers when they're not needed. - Match times, ya... unless things fall to very low numbers you not going to see any problems. Example: 13 players online, 12 are in a match (your wait time will be the average time it takes to finish, well until someone leaves.. but if there was a rotation). Im sure you can be really no effect on waiting times with as low as 300'000 players in match making. Destiny is already dead, regardless of who is left still playing this game. Bungie killed Destiny.
