Warlock melee not abilities has much larger range than all the other classes.
It's also a semi AOE, it hits in a area in front and to the sides of the user rather than just a direction. The area in which the attack takes effect only effects a single person at a given time, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is a AOE (area of effect).
The warlock melee is much easier to land hits with. Not only that, the warlock melee has zero travel time, while the blink strike must lunge towards the opponent.
Guaranteeing that in a melee battle, not only will the warlock have the easiest time aiming their melee attack. Their melee is guaranteed to hit first.
This makes it extremely easy to use, and instead of it requiring skill, people just spam it.
I even see people spam their melee after they have shot a bullet, even if the enemy is already dead, just in case. A warlock even once told me, that he calls his melee, his second shotgun.
Base Warlock melee: longer range + AOE + no travel time = unbalanced
Plain and simple.
Edit 1: Another problem the base warlock melee is even more effective and reliable than even the blink strike for the hunter. Which is an ability with a cooldown.
That is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

21 Risposte-_- I have 29 level warlock... It's melee is the WORST compared to the other two classes... I have a 27 Titan AND hunter and they both do more melee damage than my hunter. Warlocks energy drain does not boost it's damage that much And scorch is a useful but underpowered override. I speak from experience from all three classes. Warlock is fine as it is.. Wanna talk about broken? Talk about titans shoulder charge in PVP Which is funny cause in PVE is almost useless cause it hardly kills crap.
-
Pfft, warlock melee is op? Ha! Titans have a running one punch and hunters have a throwing knife that's long distances and can cause significant amount of damage. We warlocks have very short distant melee that can either DoT or give us a extra shield. Every class is balance. Just keep your distance and you wont be whining about melee -blam!-ing you over.
-
Don't know what to tell ya bout that one lol warlocks r just badass haha
-
5 RisposteThe warlock melee has the most range which is why I don't melee warlocks
-
2 RisposteBull. shit. I don't mean to start a fight, but.... You - Hunter - telling me - warlock - that our melee is op? Blink strike is the worst... And Bladedancer is worse than worse. But do I call for a nerf? Do I say it's broken or needs to be fixed? No. Now, I suppose you've probably seem a dozen of these same replies so I'm just gonna go.... But, uh... Have a swell day.
-
We already warlocks great grenades, might as well nerf the unique lightly ranged melee too.
-
The auto aim only seems to do normal melee damage but if they are in front of you you can manually aim the melee and get precision damage
-
All three classes have some wonky melee auto aim. My hunter and titan both spin 90° or more to hit people/mobs sometimes. Which sucks when you were strafing and now you just turned and bee-lined into overlapping fields of fire...
-
4 RisposteWorks just fine for me! And as others have said, each class has it's pros and cons. Melee is the warlocks.
-
8 RisposteModificato da farone101: 10/28/2014 3:22:46 AMWill people stop calling to nerf this nerf thAt truly it's getting old learn to play with what you have look it's not unequal and not op none of the classes are none of the guns are just other people's brains and the way they use them are.! !!!! Oh and be for I get insulting comments I play all three classes and all have their pros and cons so I know what they are good at and what they are not stop asking for nerfs and give ideas on new story plots
-
Just my opinion but I don't like the idea of nerfing in general at all. WoW did it too much and you end up with pure cookie cutter and that's no fun at all. IMO I would agree with the idea of taking auto aim because all that would be doing is levelling the playing field, so I agree and disagree in a sense. Don't nerf, just remove auto aim
-
2 RisposteCalls warlock meld op as he sliced down an entire team with bladedancer
-
6 RisposteModificato da Captain Teamwork: 10/28/2014 2:27:20 AMI think the bladedancer super is OP in PvP. Some think the titan shoulder charge in PvP is OP. You think the warlock melee in PvP is OP. What do you do bro? Seriously though it seems to me there is quite a bit of aim assistance during the Bladedancer super. I didn't read about that anywhere in your post though. Not sure if you realized that. Maybe if you did you would ask for a bladedancer super nerf as well as a warlock melee nerf?
-
4 RisposteThier grenades are insane too
-
2 RisposteI agree the auto aim is too much i play as warlock and as i found other melee stronger i also think tht the range on the melee is crazy too if they change the auto aim and strengthen the melee. And shorten the range
-
1 RispondiLol plz... I get 1 hit koed by hunter n Titan melded all the time... The whole damn game is broken
-
2 RisposteYou need a nerf
-
1 RispondiNot to be rude but the "E" in AOE stands for effect.
-
2 RisposteWarlocks melee is supposed to be like that. Every warlock melee is a spell, locating the target and hitting them, why it has more range as well. It's just a perk of being a warlock. Every class has it's perks
-
2 RisposteIve played hunter and warlock, they both have the aim assist you speak of it is just a matter of how close you are to the target to notice it alot. Even then its a little effect and im sure this 90 degree auto aim is imbelished a little or even in the heat of battle ur hands shook and assisted in a very serendipitous moment
-
5 RisposteModificato da Rho'gath: 10/28/2014 12:40:10 AMAs a Warlock, unless you are aiming directly at the person you want to melee, you wont hit. Also, there is very little "aim assist" with the melee, if any at all. This is my experience with the Warlock. Rather then nerf the Warlock melee, what if the Hunters was buffed? Titan gets it's shoulder charge, what if Hunter got a short dash to the target? Blink strike would be change so that it dashes and places yourself behind the enemy. Just some alternate suggestions for you
-
1 RispondiWait there is auto aim on melee??! I miss all the -blam!-ing time though
-
2 RisposteAgreed, remove auto aim, i want to rely on my skills and not some bot "helping". As for the melee auto aim I can't say, not enough experience for a sound opinion. On the other hand, pun unintended, have a lvl 29 titan and a lvl 27 warlock and i would take to lock's melee any day. What I have a force push i can use around corners, from above/below, through open objects and from, in my opinion a ridiculous range.
-
1 RispondiI get the same it's like an auto aim for your hand, but only works well on the warlock
