Have someone help you do all the story mission on hard. finish all the bounties. then you have the options of doing the stair farm on earth or crucible to finish up leveling.

I was level 12 by the time I left Earth. I just did all the bounties from Vanguard and Eris. It was rough, but doable.

2 RisposteIf you have someone help you do the missions on hard. Otherwise don't even bother with it. It's like 800XP more than the normal mission and apart from some extra mobs in the missions there's no increased xp-gain.
