So hand cannons are the best primary

Currently 21 sunsinger warlock. Focusing mostly on melee and grenades.
But hand cannon is like unstoppable, me and all the hunters.
I've noticed about half of warlocks run pistol, but higher levels I'm seeing more rifles.
What do you guys think? Opinions.
Edit: also you can't deny you look the coolest at cut scenes holding a pistol. All "yeah I don't need a rifle, this pistol is good enough.:

1 RispondiIt depend of your build. Hand cannon is more a close range weapon, since you need to aim for the head, and its easier if you are close. If you are a melee build, like me and my bladedancer, hand cannon is perfect. But if you are a mid range/long range build (like golden gun subclass), and no need to be close combat, then pulse rifle would be a better pick. Im using both, HC and Pulse. In some high level strikes, if i am with a team of 3, the enemies have alot of health and armor. So im not always using hand cannon, i find pulse more effective in these situation. But if i am soloing, or duoing, hand cannon can easily 1 shot monsters in the head.

I used a hc the whole way through the story. Then started using a pulse. I like hc a lot better but when doing strikes I tend to run out of ammo pretty quick dealing with boss adds.

3 RisposteI got a nice legendary hand cannon from the crucible my first leg. Id have to say though with a powerful hand cannon on hard boss fights, you get the most bang for your primary ammo.

Love the pulse rifle ya get from the stranger at the end of the story. I'll stick with it till I find one better.

I love my handcannon, but it still seems like autorifles are the best primary.

8 Rispostehand cannon is bad, just very bad, 6 shots then reload and only doing damage at close range, while scout rifle do way more damage at longer range

2 RisposteI prefer handcannons, but it's been several days since I found a good one. So until I find another, I'll just have to settle for my pulse rifle.

I also prefer a hand cannon. I one shot all enemies without shields. Mine has an 11 bullet clip as well. I found a legendary scout rifle but keep going back to my hand cannon. It's just too goo. Now if your aim is terrible I would understand not liking it, but 24/7 crits is hard to pass up when they do anywhere from 400 to 1k

7 RispostePVE, if you run a more support role then yes, Hand Cannons rock. You start doing high level strike and a mob comes at you? You're screwed.

My IX gets the job done, and makes a nice stick for a shish kabob.

I love my hand cannon. I'm not unstoppable with it by any means, but I find it a good compromise between Scout Rifles (my second go to primary) and pretty much everything else. Higher damage per shot than the Scout Rifles, and I do honestly feel better using it than an auto rifle. I'm not elitist or anything, it's just a personal preference. Plus I do love the idea of hefting a revolver the size of my console and firing slugs the size of my fist. It's like the Samaritan from Hellboy :D

Honestly I haven't seen the hand cannon much. I'm not objecting to it, I just don't see it used. Everyone, including me, seems to use an autorifle. I think all the guns are in reality really good, everyone just has different play styles. So the best gun for me may not be the best gun for you

2 RisposteTotally agree with you, I just haven't found a lvl 20 one yet. I find that I make shots matter more and do more damage overall with a hand cannon - maybe they're a higher calibre and so have a slightly better chance of hitting?

1 RispondiThank you. For some reason, most people think it sucks. I do amazing in it, best in the lobby in 90% of my PVE and PVP games. Hands down, best weapon type.

13 RisposteThey aren't a worthless POS anymore but ar are still king. Im using a Shingen-E and i want nothing else but the same weapon in exotic quality. Its absolute perfect balance between recoil/clip size/fire rate/damage.

in pvE, yes. Autorifles are still the king of pvp.
