Defend the wall public event?
Wouldnt be cool if we can a huge public event.(like over 100 guardians fighting bigger than MAG if u know that game) our task would be to defend the wall of the last city on earth against a onslaught of fallen. Just wondering if anyone agrees.

1 RispondiMag was 128 per side. 256 total players and lag was not a issue. It can be done but mag went under because everyone wanted to play cod instead.

10 Rispostei haven't seen any game pull off the in depth massively multiplayer battles in any successful way since the days of early everquest.. 100+ people completely focused, highly skilled, extremely well equipped, working together in perfect unison for 6+ hours straight to kill hundreds of enemies and then a long extremely tough fight to bring down a god.. but little kids with no attention span and an entire culture focused around instant gratification killed that. also to those saying it can't handle it..of course it can. they would just have to host almost everything serverside with good servers and make their programming..be less shitty. in 2000 we had a game doing massive amounts of effects on old shitty computers with 100+ real people and dozens and dozens of enemies rendered simultaneously all running around, fighting, casting spells, buffing eachother, all with different armor etc etc. no excuse now except cheapness on the part of the companies involved. i would love to see this..but i doubt it would ever happen. i could see strongpoint survival or something but bungie will restrict it to 6 people, not give you any chat ability, and still make the loot be random (give the best stuff to the worst person) so..pointless. 32 guardians fighting waves of 200+ enemies at a time with 30 second timers between waves and phogoth x4 sized bosses occasionally that crap out a rainstorm of legendaries and exotics or ultra-exotics would be nice though.

Just wondering if anyone agrees.[/quote] I like the idea. I have one suggestion though, because a massively full server/shard/instance might not work because of the way the game is set up. How about a tournament? Perhaps 6 players at a time (like a raid). They spawn into an area and have to fight off waves of bad guys. The numbers of bad guys in each wave increase and the bad guys steadily get stronger. Track how long each team lasts, kills, deaths, etc. Run the tournament for a week. Your team can only enter once and when they all die, your team is out of the tournament. The winner of the tournament gets an emblem: "Defender of the Wall" or something. BUT if they can throw a bunch more into an instance, I'd love to try your suggestion.

1 RispondiLike a Helms Deep scenario from Lord of the Rings.... That would be freakin sweet. Two sides just standing off. Waiting... And then a random sniper shot is heard and a fallen captain falls dead. All hell breaks loose and the assault on the wall begins.... To commemorate these glorious one time events (clearly we can't have this happening all the time or else we risk boredom and whining) we can have grimoire cards generate and thus capture the battle forged heroes emerging from the chaos! Who had the most kills? Head shots? Grenade kills? Special kills? These heroes would live on forever in Destiny's lore, the Grimoire cards!
